The Consultant will be responsible for Internal Storm Water Drain/ Street Connection. He will also be responsible for quality of SW Drain Work carried out at site.

General Guidelines and Specifications for Internal Services for SWD Remarks The min. formation / ground level of plot. - At least M. (92.00 ) THD or 15 cm. (6 ) above the formation level of existing / proposed footpath. For plot area upto 500 Sq.Mt. - No necessity for providing network of SWD, instead the surrounding area of the buildings shall be paved with proper slope towards the access road. For plot area more than 500 sq.m - The internal (closed/ open) S. W. Drain network shall be provided as per the following Calculations: A = Q / V A - cross sectional area of drain required. Q - plot area x rainfall intensity (I) x runoff coefficient (R) V m per sec.(self cleansing velocity & Drain is running full) I - Rainfall Intensity - 55 mm/hr R - Runoff Co-efficient Contd.

General Guidelines and Specifications for Internal Services for SWD Remarks The Storm Water Drain of required c/s area - To be laid by using R.C.C. pipes of NP2 / NP3 class (I.S.I. only) duly encased with 15 cm. thick M-15 cement concrete all around along with provision of water entrances having minimum size of 450mm. X 450mm. covered with M.S. / C.I. gratings. RCC storm water drain of required size - To be constructed in cement concrete of Grade M-20 having minimum wall thickness of 20 cm which shall be covered with gratings with minimum depth of 300 mm at starting slope 1:400. The built up drain shall be covered with prestressed R.C.C. / C.I. grating for entire length. The side / marginal open spaces shall be leveled, consolidated and paved with cement concrete with proper slope in such a way to discharge the storm water into proposed storm water entrances. Before starting of the work, invert levels of water entrance / manhole on Municipal storm water drain / road side open SWD to which internal S. W. Drain is to be connected shall be confirmed on site with reference to invert level of last catch pit chamber of the plot. Contd.

General Guidelines and Specifications for Internal Services for SWD Remarks The bottom of catch pit chamber shall be provided minimum 60 cm (2 ) below the invert level of pipe. The access / internal layout roads / D.P. Roads shall be provided with closed Storm Water Drain with regular water entrances at 10 m (30 ) and manholes at 10 m (30 ) c/c at developer s cost. The road side drain to be provided with cross sectional area equal to 1/10 th of the existing/ proposed road. The entire S.W.D. work shall be carried out through the Licensed Plumber and under supervision of Licensed Supervisor. The compound wall shall not be constructed on SWD wall. Adequate numbers of weep holes shall be provided in compound wall where ever necessary. Contd..

General Guidelines and Specifications for Internal Services for SWD Remarks Other Conditions: If the Rain Water Harvesting system is proposed within the plot then, the internal SWD network shall be provided such that the entire storm water collected shall be discharged into the pit of Rain Water Harvesting system and Overflow connection shall be made to the nearest SWD on the Municipal road. If during the execution of work of the proposed buildings, if any Storm Water Drain, is found existing within the plot, the work of proposed building shall be stopped and the same shall be brought to the notice of MCGM immediately. No further work shall be commenced unless the remarks regarding the same are obtained from MCGM. If the basement are proposed, then the necessary arrangement shall be provided in basement in accordance with relevant IS Code for proper collection and disposal of storm water. The arrangement shall also be made to pump out the water of the basement to the nearest water entrance within the property by providing sump well.

STREET CONNECTION The street connection It shall be made with adequate size of R.C. pipe NP2 / NP3 class (I.S.I. only), duly encased with 15 cm thick M-15 grade cement concrete all around from last catch pit chamber to Municipal S.W. Manhole / water entrances. Street connection shall be made only after the necessary permission for road opening is obtained from A.E. (Maint.) of the concerned ward. The work of providing S.W. Drain from last catch pit chamber to Municipal S.W. Drain shall be carried out under the supervision and as per suggestions of A.E. (Env.) / A.E. (maint.) of concerned ward. In case, if it is not possible to connect internal S.W. Drain to existing manhole on Municipal Storm Water Drain due to site constraints or if the existing manhole is far away from the plot, then the internal S.W. Drain shall be connected to Municipal S.W. Drain by constructing additional manhole on Municipal S.W. Drain at owner / developer s cost. Contd

ROAD SETBACK PORTION During construction of foot path water entrances affected by set back shall be shifted suitably by extending existing laterals. If shifting of water entrance is not possible by extending the existing laterals then new water entrance at suitable place shall be provided. The works in the set back portion shall be carried out under supervision of AE (Env.) / AE (maint.) of concern ward. Contd

COMPLETION CERTIFICATE Completion Certificate along with plan of S.W. Drains as carried out on site duly signed by Consultant and also by the Licensed Plumber in the prescribed format (Appendix II ). Completion of street connection from last catch pit chamber to Municipal S. W. Drain shall be obtained from AE (Env.) / AE (maint.) of the concerned ward.
