1 ATTACHMENT 4 New Eastside Regional Park Phase 1 BIM (Building Information Modeling) 3D Design & Modeling Program Requirements Bidders to be aware all BIM are for your information only and are not for estimating or construction purposes.

2 BIM REQUIREMENTS a. Building Information Modeling (BIM) Deliverables: BIM Deliverables are in addition and in conjunction to all other contracted deliverables. b. This project will be utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM). As part of this process the following trades shall utilize a Three Dimensional CAD program capable of creating intelligent objects as the tool to create their shop drawings (Authoring Tool): c. UNDERGROUND SITE UTILITIES & CIVIL (Topography, water supply pipes, etc.) d. HVAC (Sheet Metal), MECHANICAL PIPING & EQUIPMENT e. PLUMBING f. ELECTRICAL g. FIRE PROTECTION h. STRUCTURAL STEEL i. STRUCTURAL CONCRETE j. STRUCTURAL MASONRY k. LOW VOLTAGE SYSTEMS & PHOTOMETRIC SYSTEMS l. MISCELLANEOUS m. All select subcontractors are required to have and use Navisworks (Version 2018 or newer) as the collaborative software as a coordination tool. Select subcontractors must demonstrate the ability and willingness to use Authoring Tool and the Authoring Tool s interoperability with the Navisworks software. In addition to general contract requirements, the select subcontractors are also required to provide 3D model(s) of their scope of work as outlined below in both native (DWG, RVT, Etc) and Navisworks (.NWD or.nwc) format. n. A preliminary BIM Project Execution Plan (PxP) is attached, the final PxP will be completed after subcontractor selection. Sundt will hold a BIM Kickoff Meeting after subcontractor selection with all subcontractors participating in the BIM process to review the PxP at the location specified by the Project BIM manager. Subcontractor s lead Drafter/Modeler, Project Manager and Field Foreman/Superintendent will be required to attend this meeting in person. The lead drafter from each subcontractor will be required to attend all subsequent collaboration meetings as outlined in the PxP at the location and frequency as determined by Sundt. Web meeting attendance for weekly coordination meetings is permitted. o. Should unavoidable conflicts be encountered during the preparation or review of the coordination models and supplemental drawings or Shop Drawings, or during construction, they shall be promptly brought to Sundt Construction, in writing for resolution. p. Coordinated Shop drawings must be signed off by each coordinating trade and Sundt Construction prior to submitting to the Owner. Sundt or BIM Lead will create a Sign off Schedule, which will be coordinated with construction team. q. Shop drawings should accurately reflect the coordinated BIM. Subcontractor shall remove and replace all work that does not comply with the signed off and approved coordinated shop drawings at subcontractor s own expense. Repair or replace any other Work or property damaged by these operations at no additional cost to Sundt Construction or the Owner. r. Where the Drawings are diagrammatic, showing only the general arrangement of the systems, subcontractor shall have responsibility for the fitting of materials and equipment to other parts of the equipment and structure, and to make adjustments as necessary or required to resolve space problems, preserve service room, and avoid architectural and structural elements and the Work of other trades. Contractor may be required to identify certain areas to relocate installations within the spaces depicted on the Drawings, e.g., ductwork may be shifted within the space shown to accommodate other systems. Such functional relocations shall not be deemed a change to the requirements of the Contract. In the event a rerouting of a system appears necessary, Contractor shall clearly highlight the proposed rearrangement on the submitted Shop Drawings. s. Do not obstruct spaces and installations required to be clear for operation, maintenance, part replacement or Applicable Code Requirements. Do not cover any piping, wiring, ducts, or other installations until they have been inspected and approved and required inspection certificates issued. Ensure that anchorage, blocking, joining, and other detailing are provided as required. 1.2 GENERAL a. All models to be provided to Sundt in file format of the Authoring Tool as well as Navisworks Document Format (.NWD) or Navisworks Cache Format (.NWC). Please refer to

3 for information on files that can be converted to Navisworks format by using exporter utilities. b. All elements of the project to be created in 3 Dimensions with spatially correct size and real world coordinates c. Equipment, doors, and windows to have manufacture and model attached, if known d. The collaboration meetings will be held at a location to be determined by Sundt that best suits the project s needs. e. Sundt will set up a project collaboration service or website for the sole purpose of exchanging modeling data. Each firm will be responsible to update their portion of the collaborated model for the use in the weekly clash detection meeting. In some occasions, firms will be asked to post more frequently for coordination purposes. f.
