2 RubberBond FleeceBack EPDM is manufactured in the USA by Carlisle Syntec. Undisputedly, a trusted worldwide leader in the manufacture and development of roofing systems for in excess of 50 years. RubberBond FleeceBack leaves rivals behind, not only due to the fleece itself, but also due to the unique patented technology used to laminate the EPDM waterproofing to it. This hot melt technology virtually eliminates all shrinkage that adversely affects many single ply systems. Adhesive Technology The RubberBond FleeceBack EPDM roofing system incorporates a range of adhesives to overcome virtually any substrate and temperature variation, essential in a climate that varies so frequently. Perimeter and upstand areas are catered for by using a choice of RubberBond Bonding Adhesives allowing for fast perimeter installation and detailing. The fleece backing and adhesive range gives the contractor and property owner superior wind uplift resistance and bond strength due to the excellent strength achieved between the adhesive and the fleece layer. The exceptional strength, ageing resistance and waterproofing characteristics of EPDM, with the added tough, reinforcing fleece backing provides the architect, roofing contractor and building owner with an outstanding, unmatched, superior flat roofing system. RubberBond FleeceBack EPDM Roofing System The unique fleece backing allows easy installation to a variety of deck surfaces resulting in a system suitable for overlayment of existing surfaces, roof renovation, new projects, domestic roofing or industrial installation. The fleece backing acts as a cushioning layer, designed for use over minor imperfections, splits or ridges that may have formed in the existing roof system. The often overlooked benefit of RubberBond FleeceBack is that it doesn t require peel stops or base tie in details that is required by the majority of other single ply systems, including standard EPDM. The purpose of a base tie in is to control the expected 10% shrinkage that occurs with other non-reinforced membranes. The patented hot melt technology used to laminate the FleeceBack layer to the EPDM sheet eliminates this shrinkage, therefore removing the need and expense of the base tie in detail. When the installation of correctly installed systems is compared with the upgrade to FleeceBack, a better, stronger product can be fitted for a similar cost to a lesser membrane. For your next project, choose RubberBond EPDM with Factory-Applied Tape RubberBond FleeceBack EPDM is available with the added benefit of Factory-Applied Tape (FAT) seam technology. FAT has been proven to reduce seaming time by 75%, cutting labour requirements over other seaming methods in the marketplace. FAT reduces the risk of seam failure by applying seams in a factory controlled environment and delivering 30% greater peel strength and 32% greater shear strengths than standard seaming methods. Climate Unlike most traditional waterproofing membranes, RubberBond FleeceBack EPDM is completely resistant to temperature variations, weather and UV radiation. There is no need to protect the RubberBond membrane from sunlight either during construction or after! No change in strength or elasticity between -30 C and 120 C. Membrane for any Substrate The flexibility of RubberBond FleeceBack EPDM membrane allows for seamless angle changes. Combining this with the enhanced adhesion characteristics of the membrane s fleece backing, makes upstands of any height, to any surface a possibility. RubberBond Adhesives are suitable for a wide range of substrates making the installation a flame and heat free process. Roof details are waterproofed by either pre-formed accessories or Uncured Pressure Sensitive Tape and RubberBond HP-250 Primer, minimising time and labour needed to complete your flat roof project. Superior strength of the 2.54mm thick RubberBond FleeceBack offers 40% greater puncture resistance and 180% greater tear resistance than 1.52mm EPDM British Board of Agrément approved Range of warranties available - up to 20 year Insurance Backed Guarantee Full training in the installation of RubberBond FleeceBack EPDM Adheres to almost all substrates Ideal for overlayment of existing surface, complete renewal or new build projects 67% fewer seams than Modified Bitumen with 3.05m sheet Will not tear, split or crack Does not become brittle or degrade with age No heat or welding during installation Low odour and noise great for re-roofing occupied buildings Does not shrink a quality that standard EPDM can t offer No requirement for Base Tie in or Peel Stop Easily seamed to other materials & roofing systems Roof Terraces and Green Roofing The RubberBond FleeceBack EPDM flat roofing system is also perfect for using below a terraced area or green roof system. The outstanding strength and longevity of the FleeceBack roofing membrane is suitable for all types of green roof system and can also be tiled, slabbed or decked. For areas that need maintenance access, Pressure Sensitive Walkway pads are available to provide a hardy, non slip-surface for maintenance staff on the roof.

4 RubberBond FleeceBack EPDM Comprehensive range of roofing accessories RubberBond roofing systems are more than just the FleeceBack membrane. An extensive range of proven Carlisle products to suit a multitude of functions are available to complete the roofing system. Adhesives, Primer, Pressure Sensitive (PS) tapes, Pre-formed pipe details, perimeter trims, walkway systems, outlets, mastics and fixings are all part of the RubberBond EPDM range. RubberBond FleeceBack EPDM 3.05m Wide Membrane with FAT and 1.52m Wide Membrane with FAT Manufactured in two membrane sizes 1.52m wide by 12.2m long, (18.54m²) with Factory Applied Tape (FAT ) 3.05m wide by 15.25m long (46.5m²) with FAT The 1.52m roll is only available with FAT which is bonded to the membrane along one side of the roll. FAT gives you a seam that has the same elasticity and flexibility as the membrane itself, applied to our membranes in a factory controlled setting, ensuring reliable seams with greater peel and shear strengths than standard seaming methods. Weighing under 35kg per roll this size is perfect for projects with awkward access, little roof space and access up scaffold. The 3.05m wide roll with FAT reduces the amount of seams on the roof by 67% compared to felt systems and reduces the seaming time by 75% compared to other seaming systems on the market. The FAT is applied to one edge of the roll, the other edge has a guide line to ensure correct overlap widths and membrane placement. FAT is bonded to our membrane in a factory-controlled setting ensuring reliable seams with greater peel, shear strengths and no entrapped air bubbles. FAT improves seaming productivity. This translates to completing projects faster, improving the ability to get buildings in the dry in less time and minimising business disruption. Weighing 80.45kg per 46.5m² roll. The 3.05m wide roll is also available in a non FAT version and spliced with 75mm PS SecurTAPE.
