(1) September 28, 2017 This Addendum No. 1 consists of seven (7) pages and has the following information to be incorporated into the Invitation For Bids (IFB). Bidders must acknowledge receipt of this Addendum No. 1 in their IFB submittal in Required Form A, Bid Form. Item #1: Bidders questions and/or requests and the MPEA s responses are provided below. Bidder Question: MPEA s Response: 1 Please provide name of existing fire alarm vendor is in the building. 2 What should be done with fire alarm, security, BAS, and riser management for low voltage? drawings, specs, scope Siemens Fiber is already installed in the IDF that connects back to MPEA systems. Contractor to work with MPEA staff to ensure connectivity of new equipment to MPEA systems. Contractor required to provide all patching as necessary. 3 what should be down for floor prep Grind and fill as necessary for carpet tile. 4 Who is responsible for furniture procurement and install? 5 Is all ACM removed from Space including concrete, patches or fire proofing 6 What should be done with existing drywall and windows MPEA Yes All remain 7 Are floors getting grounded down to level, floated to new level or skimmed to new level, please clarify Grind / Float as required to receive carpet tiles. Reception is the starting point; grind down slab in elevator lobby as necessary to receive wood flooring and to keep stair riser heights intact; elevation of wood floor is the datum line, all carpet and other floor finishes to be floated/grinded to meet new set datum line. 8 Roofing detail and products please Roofing will be handled by another contractor 9 Cut sheets of existing units To follow 10 Clarify working hours 7am 3 pm Related Question: Per Section subsection 1.15 C it states that the work day schedule has been provided for the contractor. 2 11 Does drywall need a level 3,4 0r 5 finish? Level What type of deck is this? Poured in place reinforced concrete approximately 12 thick 13 Are the openings in the deck for HVAC ductwork already supplied? 14 Per Sheet A13.00 Floor Finishes Resilient Tile RT-02 is a 12 x12 floor tile. According to our flooring subcontractor, the specified tile - Meditone H8303 Color: Almost Black, is a 6 7 wide sheet vinyl. Please clarify which product is required for estimate. New openings will be required in the roof deck for supply and return ductwork to relocated AHU5 Updated spec: 15 Sheet A13.01 Equipment Schedule references the AV Drawings several times. Please clarify, is this meant to be in reference to the Technology drawings (Sheets T1.001 T6.105) as no additional references to the equipment are made. If not, please provide separate AV Drawings 16 Please clarify, no references are made to the Ceramic wall tile CT-01 listed under the Wall Finishes Schedule Sheet A Is this material required for this project? 17 Per the Bid Tab, there is only 1 alternate to the bid to Furnish and Install Siemens Sitrans FUE1010 Ultra-Sonic Clamp. Per Note 6 on Sheet FP01.05, Contractor to provide alternate price to lower all branch lines and far side cross main to Please clarify, what alternate pricing will be required for this bid 18 Per Sheet A13.00 Finish Schedule: Misc. Finishes, Black Accent Metal Trim is required for this project. Please provide materials specification section Yes Technology drawings include AV scope Sheet A11.00, elevation 5, sheet note 14 Sheet A11.02, elevation 1, sheet note 14 The first alternate is for BTU meters on the hot and chilled water service to each of the two rooftop AHU s that are being relocated/supplied for this project. 3 19 Per the Bid Tab, Acoustical 1 Thick K-13 Spray will be required for this job. Please provide material specifications section Updated spec: 20 Per the Bid Tab, the total cost for the Electrical scope of work should break out fixture costs. Please clarify, where should this cost breakdown be shown as there is only 1 line for Electrical work 21 Per Sheet A13.01 Equipment Schedule there are no manufacturers, models, sizes etc. listed for the Coffee Machine marked EQ-09. Please clarify, what will be the minimum requirements for the Coffee Machine (i.e. manufacturer, model, volume capacity, size, finish, etc.) 22 Per Sheet E01.05 there is only 1 dishwasher called out in the Café. Per Sheet P01.00 there are 2 dishwashers being hooked up, 1 in the Café and 1 in the Satellite Pantry. The Equipment Schedule on Sheet A13.01 does not list quantities. Please clarify, how many dishwashers are being installed? 23 Per Sheet M00.04 Ductwork Note 9 we are to Provide 1 thick acoustical lining for all medium pressure ductwork and for a distance of 15 downstream of terminal units. Does this include round ductwork or rectangular only? 24 Per the Bid Submission requirements, we must supply an Excel version of the bid form. The separate PDF copy was available but the excel file could not be located on the MPEA website along with the other documents. Please Add a line for electrical fixtures. Owner supplied. Provide 20A 115v dedicated circuit for each coffee machine. Only 1 dishwasher total, located in Café 536. 4 provide the excel file for use. 25 For the reception desk, we could not find what type of core you would like. Veneercore, Particle Board, or MDF, please clarify. 26 On the reception desk there does not appear to be any details showing if there is wood at each end of the desk or if it is just open on both ends. Please clarify. 27 Please provide sheet M00.02 or the RTU schedule. 28 Plan Page F note 6 calls out to provide an alternate to lower all sprinkler line to If we are to price this up, what are your limitations for shutdowns, expectations for fire watch. 29 There does not appear to be a drawing showing what the existing roof structure and make up are. We will need this information for the new and relocated HVAC equipment. Please provide. 30 There does not appear to be a structural set of plans. Please provide a structural plan for the reinforcement required at the roof for the new and relocated HVAC equipment if any. 31 The bid form has a location for FFE/ Install but the plans call out FFE install by others. Please clarify if we are providing FFE install in the bid. 32 At the pre-bid it was stated that Clark Construction would be responsible for patching of the existing roof, please confirm if this is the case 33 What is the anticipated ntp date and anticipated duration of the project? 34 Per the specifications we are responsible for our own parking, will we be able to utilize the empty lot to the north of the building, or will there be a special rate for the main garage? 35 Per plan page A05.05F general note F states provide pricing to skim coat and level the entire existing exposed concrete slab. Please provide more information on the tolerances will be on the levelness and if you can provide an allowance so that everyone is bidding on the same thing. 5 Provide 1/4" over 10-0 tolerance. 36 There does not appear to be any scope to patch or repair the existing column capitals called out in the plans. Please confirm if there is any scope of work required to repair these. 37 Since the plans call out to install K-13 acoustical spray to the exposed concrete ceiling deck, please confirm we do not need to do any patching prior to application. 38 Per the bid form it calls out Design Build as per plan page M1.00 but this page is not in the drawing set. Please provide. 39 Would owner/architect be willing to accept Oldcastle Glass doors, Hardware and all applicable items within documents and specifications. form reading of specifications all door hardware Oldcastle can do and glass being 3/4" is no problem either. Keep in mind 3/4" doors are almost double the price of 1/2" doors and being this is inside application this also, may be consideration. 40 Please advise who will be responsible for all construction permit? 41 Should coring, and conduit work below floor (in 4th fl ceiling) be figured as premium time (night)? 42 What is EC responsibility for following low voltage systems? > conduit cable devices terminations > Fire Alarm > Temp Control > Security > Voice/Data > A/V 43 There is no roof plan for the patch work of the new roof curb shown on drawing M Please clarify the existing roof type, insulation thickness, and if the roof is still under warranty. 44 Drawing A05.05F under General Note F says to provide pricing to skim coat and level the entire existing exposed concrete slab. The existing floor has a large variance in slope changes and ledges. We believe the entire floor needs to be poured up to 1-1/2 thick if it is to be level across the entire area. Please clarify a thickness we are all to assume to level the floor. See attached pictures. All anchors, bolts, plates, etc., that are no longer in use shall be removed. Honeycombing and major voids shall be patched, but the industrial character of the columns and capitals are to remain. Any major voids shall be patched so that surface of K-13 spray is reasonably even and uniform. To follow Please adhere to specifications as called out by drawings and project spec book. General contractor No, but careful coordination of work times and dates with Marriot will be required. All are required, though the work may be subcontracted to a specialty contractor. Roof work will be done by another contractor. Please reference question #7 response. IFB # M 5

7 45 Detail 1/A12.30 has a carpet to wood floor transition with cement based underlayment in the carpet area. Is this required in all carpeted & resilient areas to level the floor? If we need to level the wood floor area 1st then we will need to bring up the carpet and resilient areas higher than the detail leads you to believe. Please clarify where the underlayment is needed and the thickness. 46 Along the perimeter of the building, the exterior walls had drywall and taping compound applied, but it is not properly taped and sanded to accept paint. See attached pictures. Please clarify is we are to re-tape and sand all existing walls to accept new paint that are not in good condition. (see pictures above) 47 Drawing A04.05 under General Note K. says to provide 1 thick K-13 Acoustical spray on the underside of all exposed concrete slabs only. Please provide a specification with more information for this product. 48 Will the furniture and cubicles come pre-wired or will our electrician need to wire and terminate all connections? Provide cut sheets of all furniture that requires electric that the owner is providing. Please clarify Please reference question #7 response. Tape, spackle, re-sand and paint as required to receive new paint finish. Please reference question #19 response. Electrician will need to wire all devices in the furniture system. IFB # M 7
