NOTE: Retain below if required by Project. CENTRIA Formavue 100 windows integrate with Versawall panels. Assembly includes integrated window system. 1.3 DEFINITIONS NOTE: C2C certification described in paragraph below is a comprehensive sustainability certification that transcends LEED requirements to address life cycle analysis of entire production cycle of building products. CENTRIA and a number of leading product manufacturers have aligned their manufacturing and distribution practices with C2C core principles. SECTION Page 2

3 1.3.1 Cradle to Cradle Certification The Cradle to Cradle Certification process, administered by McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry (MBDC), that evaluates materials and product ingredients and the complete formulation for human and environmental health impacts throughout its lifecycle as well as its potential for being truly recycled or safely composted. 1.4 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS General Provide metal wall panel system meeting performance requirements as determined by application of specified tests by a qualified testing agency on manufacturer's standard assemblies Air Infiltration Maximum 0.03 cfm/sq. ft. (0.3 L/s per sq. m) per ASTM E 283 at a static-air-pressure difference of 1.56 lbf/sq. ft. (100 Pa) Water Penetration, Static Pressure No uncontrolled water penetration per ASTM E 331 at a minimum static differential pressure of 10 lbf/sq. ft. (479 Pa). NOTE: Verify seismic performance requirements of authorities having jurisdiction Seismic Performance Comply with ASCE 7-05 Section 9, "Earthquake Loads." Structural Performance Provide metal wall panel assemblies capable of withstanding the effects of indicated loads and stresses within limits and under conditions indicated, per ASTM E 72: NOTE: Consult structural engineer and edit below as required by local codes. Insert structural data below if not indicated on drawings Wind Loads Determine loads based on uniform pressure, importance factor, exposure category, and basic wind speed indicated on drawings Deflection Limits Withstand test pressures of 150 percent of inward and outward wind-load design pressures with maximum deflection of 1/180 of the span with no SECTION Page 3

4 evidence of failure Thermal Movements Allow for thermal movements from variations in both ambient and internal temperatures. Accommodate movement of support structure caused by thermal expansion and contraction Thermal Performance Thermal-resistance (R) value indicated, per ASTM C 1363, corrected to 15 mph wind outside and still air inside. 1.5 SUBMITTALS Government approval is required for submittals with a "G" designation; submittals not having a "G" designation are [for Contractor Quality Control approval.] [for information only. When used, a designation following the "G" designation identifies the office that will review the submittal for the Government.] Submit the following in accordance with Section SUBMITTAL PROCEDURES: SD-01 Preconstruction Submittals Coordination Drawings[; G][; G, [ ] Layout drawings and detail drawings coordinating the installation of wall panels with other secondary framing. Coordinate penetrations, openings, and mechanical attachments. NOTE: Retain paragraphs below when Project requirements include compliance with Federal Buy American provisions. CENTRIA Metal Wall Panels comply with requirement. Buy American Act Certification[; G][; G, [ ]] Submit documentation certifying that products comply with provisions of the Buy American Act 41 U.S.C. 10a - 10d. SD-02 Shop Drawing Provide shop drawings prepared by manufacturer or manufacturer's authorized dealer. Include full elevations showing openings and penetrations. Include details of each condition of installation and attachment. Provide details at a minimum scale 1-1/2-inch per foot of all required trim and extrusions needed for a complete installation NOTE: Retain option in subparagraph below if Project requirements include delegated design by Contractor. 5 Indicate points of supporting structure that must coordinate with metal wall panel system installation. SD-03 Product Data Manufacturer's data sheets for specified products[; G][; G, [ ] NOTE: Retain and edit below to comply with Project requirements for LEED or other sustainable design requirements. LEED Submittals Credit MR 4: Product data indicating the following[; G][; G, [ ] Percentages by weight of post-consumer and pre-consumer recycled content. Total weight of products provided. Include statement indicating costs for each product having recycled content. Protective Coating contains no Polyvinyl Chloride. Minimum Nutrient Utilization Score as defined by MBDC: 50 Minimum steel recycled content: 25 percent. Certified and Documented energy used to manufacture panels on a square foot basis. Water Stewardship Guidelines: Singed by company CEO. SD-04 Samples Initial Selection Samples[; G][; G, [ ] For each product specified including sealants and gaskets. Provide representative color charts of manufacturer's full range of colors. Verification Samples[; G][; G, [ ] Provide 12-inch-(305 mm-)long section of metal wall panel showing finishes, vertical joint return, injected core material, and anchoring details. SD-11 Closeout Submittals Manufacturer's warranty[; G][; G, [ ]] Maintenance data[; G][; G, [ ]] 1.6 QUALITY ASSURANCE Single Source Provide metal wall panel assembly and accessories from a single manufacturer. NOTE: Retain paragraph below if Owner allows substitutions but requires strict control over qualifying of substitutions Manufacturer Qualifications Approved manufacturer listed in this Section with minimum five years experience in manufacture of similar products in successful use in similar applications. Approval of Comparable Products: Submit the following in accordance with project substitution requirements, within time allowed for substitution review: Product data, including certified independent test data indicating compliance with requirements. Samples of each component. Sample submittal from similar project. Project references: Minimum of five installations not less than five years old, with Owner and Architect contact information. 7 Sample warranty. Substitutions following award of contract are not allowed except as stipulated in Division 01 General Requirements. Approved manufacturers must meet separate requirements of Submittals Article Installer Qualifications Experienced Installer with minimum of five years experience with successfully completed projects of a similar nature and scope Preconstruction Field-Adhesion Testing Before installing sealants, field test their adhesion to Project joint substrates as specified in Division 07 Section "Joint Sealants." Fire Performance Characteristics Provide metal wall systems with the following fire-test characteristics determined by indicated test standard as applied by UL or other testing and inspection agency acceptable to authorities having jurisdiction. Surface-Burning Characteristics: Provide metal wall system panels with the following characteristics when tested per ASTM E 84. Flame spread index: 25 or less. Smoke developed index: 450 or less. Fire Performance of Insulated Wall: Class 1 wall panel per ANSI/FM NOTE: Retain below when metal wall panels are part of a fire-resistance-rated wall assembly. Fire Resistance Ratings: Provide metal wall panels tested per ASTM E 119 or UL ADMINISTRATIVE REQUIREMENTS Preinstallation Meeting Conduct preinstallation meeting at site attended by Owner, Architect, manufacturer's technical representative, and other trade contractors. Coordinate building framing in relation to metal wall panel system. Coordinate window, door, and other openings and penetrations of metal wall panel system. 1.8 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING Protect products of metal wall panel system during shipping, handling, and storage to prevent staining, denting, deterioration of components or other damage. 8 Deliver, unload, store, and erect metal wall panel system and accessory items without misshaping panels or exposing panels to surface damage from weather or construction operations. Store in accordance with Manufacturer's written instruction. Shield foam insulated metal wall panels from direct sunlight until installation. 1.9 WARRANTY NOTE: Warranty terms below are available from CENTRIA. Verify that other allowable manufacturers furnish warranty meeting requirements Special Manufacturer's Warranty On manufacturer's standard form, in which manufacturer agrees to repair or replace metal wall panel assemblies [and integrated window units] that fail in materials and workmanship within one year from date of Substantial Completion. NOTE: Consult CENTRIA representative to verify available finish warranty Special Panel Finish Warranty On Manufacturer's standard form, in which Manufacturer agrees to repair or replace metal wall panels that evidence deterioration of factory-applied finish within [20] years from date of Substantial Completion, including: Color fading in excess of 5 Hunter units per ASTM D Chalking in excess of No. 8 rating per ASTM D Failure of adhesion, peeling, checking, or cracking. (138 kpa). 2.3 FOAMED INSULATION-CORE METAL WALL PANELS Concealed Fastener, Foamed-Insulation-Core Metal Wall Panels Factory-foamed vertical wall panel system consisting of an exterior metal face sheet with interior metal liner panel, bonded to factory foamed-in-place core in thermally-separated profile, with no glues or adhesives, and with factory sealed double tongue-and-groove joint, attached to supports using concealed fasteners. NOTE: Prior to selecting metal thickness and panel thickness below, consult manufacturer's span tables and review selection against panel thickness requirements and span condition. Select appropriate panel configuration to meet requirements of design wind pressure. Versapanel does not provide diaphragm strength for building stability. Provide manufacturer's factory-formed clips, shims, flashings, gaskets, lap tapes, closure strips, and caps for a complete installation. Fabricate and install accessories in accordance with SMACNA Formed Flashing and Trim Match material, thickness, and color of metal wall panel face sheets Extrusion Trim Provide manufacturer-provided extruded trim for the following locations and as indicated on Drawings: Base trim. Opening perimeters Sealants Type recommended by metal wall panel system manufacturer for application, meeting requirements of Division 07 Section "Joint Sealants." Panel Clips Concealed stainless steel clip configured specifically for metal wall panel profile, engaging face and liner panel edge without compressing panel insulation Fasteners Self-tapping screws, bolts, nuts, and other acceptable fasteners recommended by panel manufacturer. Where exposed fasteners cannot be avoided, supply corrosion-resistant fasteners with heads matching color of metal wall panels. 2.5 INTEGRATED WINDOW SYSTEM NOTE: Retain integrated window system when required, for projects utilizing Versawall 2 inch thick panels only Integrated Window Units Thermally-improved fixed aluminum window units designed to integrate with metal wall panel profile and secondary support system without receptor channels or other flashing, with rain screen and pressure equalization design meeting system requirements. Sash accept 1 inch (25 mm) insulating glass units. Basis of Design: CENTRIA Formavue FV100 Integrated Window System. System Depth: 5-5/32 inch (131 mm). 13 PART 3 EXECUTION 3.1 EXAMINATION Examine metal wall panel system substrate with Installer present. Inspect for erection tolerances and other conditions that would adversely affect installation of metal wall panels Framing Inspect framing that will support metal wall panels to determine if support components are installed as indicated on approved shop drawings. Confirm presence of acceptable framing members at recommended spacing to match installation requirements of metal wall panels Panel Support Tolerances Confirm that panel supports are within tolerances acceptable to insulated metal wall panel system manufacturer but not greater than the following: 3/8 inch (9.5 mm) in any 20 foot (610 cm) in any direction. 3/4 inch (19 mm) over any single wall plane Openings Verify that window, door, louver and other penetrations match layout on shop drawings. Correct out-of-tolerance work and other deficient conditions prior to proceeding with metal wall panel system installation. 3.2 METAL WALL PANEL SYSTEM INSTALLATION General Install metal wall panel system in accordance with approved shop drawings and manufacturer's recommendations. Install metal wall panels in orientation, sizes, and locations indicated. Anchor metal wall panels and other components securely in place. Provide for thermal and structural movement. Attach panels to metal framing using recommended clips, screws, fasteners, sealants, and adhesives indicated on approved shop drawings. Apply elastomeric sealant continuously between metal base channel (sill angle) and concrete, and elsewhere as indicated or, if not indicated, as approved by manufacturer. Fasten metal wall panels to supports with concealed clips at each joint at location, spacing, and with fasteners recommended by manufacturer. Install clips to supports with self-tapping fasteners. Provide weatherproof escutcheons for pipe and conduit penetrating exterior walls. Dissimilar Materials: Where elements of metal wall panel system will come into contact with dissimilar materials, treat faces and edges in contact with dissimilar materials as recommended by manufacturer. 14 3.2.1 Joint Sealers Install joint fillers and sealants where indicated and where required for weatherproof performance of metal wall panel assemblies. Seal panel end utilizing 2 beads of non-curing butyl; apply continuously without gaps to complete panel system air barrier. Seal metal wall panel end laps to supports or back-up flashing sealant, full width of panel. Seal side joints where recommended by metal wall panel manufacturer. Prepare joints and apply sealants per requirements of Division 07 Section "Joint Sealants." 3.3 ACCESSORY INSTALLATION General Install metal wall panel accessories with positive anchorage to building and weathertight mounting and provide for thermal expansion. Coordinate installation with flashings and other components. Install related flashings and sheet metal trim per requirements of Division 07 Section "Sheet Metal Flashing and Trim." Install components required for a complete metal wall panel assembly, including trim, copings, corners, flashings, sealants, gaskets, fillers, closure strips, and similar items. Comply with performance requirements and manufacturer's written installation instructions. Provide concealed fasteners except where noted on approved shop drawings. Set units true to line and level as indicated. Install work with laps, joints, and seams that will be permanently watertight and weather resistant. 3.4 INTEGRATED UNIT INSTALLATION Install window units in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations and approved shop drawings. Assemble wall components using gaskets, fasteners, and trim supplied by metal wall panel manufacturer. Separate dissimilar metals with bituminous coating. 3.5 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL NOTE: Retain one or both paragraphs below and edit options when scope and complexity of metal wall panel installation justifies independent inspection and testing provisions. 15 3.5.1 Testing Agency [Owner will engage] [Engage] an independent testing and inspecting agency acceptable to Architect to perform field tests and inspections and to prepare test reports Water-Spray Test After completing portion of metal wall panel assembly including accessories and trim, test 2-bay area selected by Architect for water penetration, according to AAMA Manufacturer's Field Service Engage a service representative authorized by metal wall panel manufacturer to inspect completed installation. Submit written report. Correct deficiencies noted in report. 3.6 CLEANING AND PROTECTION Remove temporary protective films. Clean finished surfaces as recommended by metal wall panel manufacturer. Clear weep holes and drainage channels of obstructions, dirt, and sealant. Maintain in a clean condition during construction. Replace damaged panels and accessories that cannot be repaired by field repair. -- End of Section -- SECTION Page 15
