5 Questions / Discussion from Pre-Bid Meeting: 1. GETTING STARTED This project has a very tight schedule! If the bid comes in budget, the architect will issue a Notice To Proceed by Thursday, February 14, This will start the 56 calendar days. Shelby County will allow the contractor to start work as soon as possible once it receives your insurance papers. Finalizing the contract and other administrative work will soon follow. It is imperative that the contractor understands the lead times of all the materials to be ordered (especially the lighting), so that delays do not occur. 2. STAGING The General Contractor will have 4 spaces available adjacent to the building for laydown / setup area. The owner will have a generator and storage pod in the 2 adjacent spaces. The GC will need to provide a parking lot sign indicating a Construction Area. There are 2 building exits that exit into the staging area that must stay operational during the entire construction process. 3. Power The 911 service will be relocated and operating out of the floor area above their existing space. Therefore, the GC will not be able to cut power to the building. If there is to be a power outage that affects the existing equipment, the owner is to receive notice 48 hours in advance, and the power may only be out for 4 hours. This must be coordinated with the owner. 4. Contractor is responsible for providing a dumpster during the demolition phase. Once trash / debris is at a minimum, the use of the existing building dumpster is permissible. 5. Contractor to demo TV and stand. 6. In Kitchen wall where the door is to be demolished, replace with CMU block (toothed in) in lieu of metal stud and drywall as indicated on drawings. 7. The height above the ceiling to bottom of deck (as measured above the kitchen) is There is sprayed on fireproofing at the second floor slab or on any floor joists. 9. Furniture Owner provided and installed systems furniture will be installed the week of April 22, Access to the site will be available for GCs and subcontractors prior to the bid during normal business hours (8:00am -4:00pm).
