12 From: To: Subject: Date: Brian Blomgren Mercy Davison Request to Expand Certificate and Grant Friday, October 23, :12:43 PM Hi! I m looking to expand the scope of my certificate and grant for 706 N School Street to include the additional restoration of 10 removable wooden storm windows that currently were not in-scope. These would complete the removable wood storm window restoration for the entire house. All the windows are either nearer the street as windows already identified as street facing or are on the front face of the house. Given that these windows are paint on all sides, it will actually be a simpler and more cost effective process to restore these than the actual windows in the grant already. I will be encapsulating existing paint rather than having it stripped. Costs are estimated below and I m hoping to come in under this amount due to completing it with materials I already have from the current project: Materials (sand paper, quality primer for encapsulation, disposable brushes, etc) $60 Finish Paint $40 Reglazing service from Mohr (England) Window (same company that did the rest of the grant) $600 + buffer) New Hardware to secure windows Approx. $300 depending on sales Total Cost $1000 Grant 50/50 amount $500 I ll send along pictures this weekend. Just for awareness, there is a slim chance that 3 of these windows on the south side will not be able to be fully completed due to how the house has settled. They have been somewhat wedged into place and it may be too risky to remove them. If that s the case, I ll have them reglazed in-place and paint what I can. It should not change costs much, but there might be a trip charge for England Window to come out Brian Blomgren Infrastructure Analyst Telecom Voice Engineering (Single Number Reach) Click here to report this as spam.

13 706 N. School Window Restoration Project 2015 The owner proposes to restore 10 additional windows on the street-facing and sides of the house at 706 N. School, which requires an amendment to CA He is also requesting additional Bone Grant funds to cover the additional expense, which requires an amendment to the already-approved BG The photo above shows the north and west (street-facing) facades of the house. The windows proposed for restoration include the three adjacent to the front door, the four on the side not covered by plywood, and three on the south side (not pictured). The windows covered in plywood are part of the originally approved Certificate and Bone Grant.

Additional Restoration of two (2) smaller casement windows from the south side of the residence, located on either side of the chimney. Sweat equity labor to remove existing glazing compound and remove glass (saved for later replacement). Professional services for the removal of existing stain, latex, and historic paints from the six (6) windows. Sweat equity labor to repair, sand, stain, and repaint all windows and surrounding trim with color matched exterior latex paints. Professional services to re-glaze all six (6) windows plus two (2) existing storm windows and repair the inevitable broken glass that will occur during the project. Purchase of replacement hardware (handles, locks, casement stays) to restore a historic look to the windows when open. Currently windows are using eyelets and hardware store hooks for stays. Handles/locks have become too damaged to function effectively due to age. Purchase of replacement hardware (hanging fasteners) to replace destroyed hardware and restore functionality of existing storm windows. Note: a contingency plan exists to replace one or more casement windows with newly built windows from a local woodworking shop should they be found to be too damaged to restore at any point throughout the project. This work has not been fully spec'd out but would be a nearly identical rebuild should it occur. It should be considered out-of-scope for this certificate and an expedited request will be submitted should the issue occur mid-project.
