4 1. Feeder options for the Stitchmaster ST 350 Small format assembly Small format assembly for vertical drum feeder Small format assembly for horizontal drum feeder FJ /01 FJ /02 Used to process A6 landscape format (105 mm / 4.13 in spine) Used to process A6 landscape format (105 mm / 4.13 in spine) Additional vacuum suckers Additional vacuum suckers for B and C shafts FJ /00 Includes one sucker for the B shaft and one for the C shaft. Used to support sucker opening for large-format sheets such as A3. Also used for sheets with high grammages which can come away from the sucker due to their stiffness. Polyurethane scoring segment (cover folder feeder) Scoring segment for internal scoring with polyurethane FJ /02 Wedge-shaped scoring blade FJ /02 Special scoring system with polyurethane ring. A wider range of applications is possible. Ideal for delicate covers (more pronounced scoring possible without immediately cutting through the paper). Stream feeder add-ons Stream feeder add-ons for horizontal drum feeder Set of additional floor rails for the stream feeder FJ /00 FJ /00 One set of these add-ons is supplied as standard when ordering the stream feeder for use on the drum feeder. If the stream feeder is to be installed on another drum feeder and you wish to avoid moving the relevant components, these additional add-ons are necessary. Rails for securing to the floor. Same situation as above. One set of these rails is included as standard with the stream feeder. If the stream feeder is to be used in another position and you wish to avoid removing and re-fitting the rails, these additional rails are necessary. For safety reasons (risk of accident), however, it is recommended to remove the rails if they are not required. 4

5 1. Feeder options for the Stitchmaster ST 350 Pulsed compressed air, blower for empty stations, and adapter cable for empty stations Pulsed compressed air for each feeder FJ /01 Basic pulsed compressed air FJ /00 (1 required for each machine) Adapter cable for each empty station to connect feeders FJ /01 Pulsed compressed air is necessary to achieve reliable sheet placement at high speeds. Pulsed compressed air is an option that enables accurate pulsed sheet placement and greater sheet stability on the saddle chain. Pulsed compressed air is used at the drum feeder. When the sheet is placed on the saddle chain, the integrated software generates an automatically controlled pulse of compressed air that holds the sheet on the saddle chain. The adapter cable is needed to connect the feeders if there is an empty station or subframe (base) between the feeders. Blowing device for subframe FJ /02 This option includes a blowing device for a subframe (base) or empty station. The curtain of air holding down the product on the saddle chain remains in place when passing across an empty station. Flexible blower between the feeders ZD BG-01 This option includes two flexibly adjustable air hoses that use blast air to press the product onto the saddle chain in the empty station between two feeders and stop the sides fluttering (order for each feeder) Signature recognition system Signature recognition system On request This option identifies the correct sheet with the aid of digital grayscale imaging of a significant area. A target-actual comparison is performed of the positions of gray values and samples of a previously learned sheet and one that is currently being measured. If deviations are identified, the sheet is ejected. Repeat errors cause the machine to stop. Each feeder has a camera. 5

6 2. Stitching head options for the Stitchmaster ST 350 Stitching heads Standard normal stitching 45-N Standard loop stitch 50-L6 Special models FJ /02 FJ /02 On request New high-performance stitching heads offer a longer service life, are easier to use, and boast an industrial design. They have won several international design awards (e.g. Good Design Award 2007). The use of new materials and technologies gives our stitching head components (excluding blades) a service life of 10 million cycles. In some cases, this is more than double the number of cycles guaranteed by the competition (e.g. 2.5 to 5 million). Standard stitch Stitch width: 14 mm (0.55 in) Min. stitch length: 30 mm (1.18 in) Loop stitch Stitch width: 14 mm (0.55 in) Min. stitch length: 40 mm (1.57 in) Loop diameter: 6 mm (0.24 in) Optional diameter: 8 mm (0.31 in) With clincher box Clincher box (LEGO clincher) Clincher box FJ /01 Clincher version for all types of stitching head. With this option, the stitches are bent further inwards so that the ends cannot cause any injury. Used primarily for brochures for children. Fold pressing unit external Fold pressing unit external, wide Fold pressing unit external, narrow FJ /01 FJ /01 For better product centering during stitching. Can be fitted to the left or right of the stitching head. The fold pressing unit is not attached directly to the stitching head. The wider contact surface (20 mm / 0.79 in) secures the product more effectively. For better product centering during stitching. Can be fitted to the left or right of the stitching head. The fold pressing unit is not attached directly to the stitching head. Ideal for positioning between two stitching heads that are close together (contact surface: 8 mm / 0.31 in). Changing set 52-N14 changing set Wire No N14 changing set Wire No FJ /00 FJ /00 For changing from standard wire size No to Wire No For changing from standard wire size No to Wire No

7 3. Stitcher options for the Stitchmaster ST 350 Coil braces for big coils Coil braces for big coils at 3 rd /4 th stitching head Coil braces for big coils at 5 th /6 th stitching head FJ /01 FJ /03 Used for processing coils of size SD 300K (15 kg) and BB20 (18 kg) at the 3 rd and 4 th stitching heads. Used for processing coils of size SD 300K (15 kg) and BB20 (18 kg) at the 5 th and 6 th stitching heads. Coil brace ground Coil brace ground FJ /00 The wire transport support device guides the wire from the coil to the place of use. The device is attached to the ground. Suitable for coils with a flange diameter of 355 mm (13.98 in), e.g. MP100 (90 kg) or K 355 (45 kg). Coil brace for small coils Coil brace for small coils of size K135 FJ /02 Set for two coils (K135, 2 kg). Includes four discs and four coil retaining springs with ring and knurled screw. Should preferably be used for special wires (e.g. colored wires). Stitcher monitoring systems Missing stitch detector FJ /02 Contact-free stitch detection from underneath. This has the advantage that stitches can be detected in hybrid operation (normal and loop stitches) without any adjustment. Signature width monitoring FJ /05 Helps to detect: Sheets where the spine rolls off the saddle chain Incorrectly folded sheets resulting in parallel displacement on the chain Crooked sheets within the product There is a light barrier on each side of the saddle chain. The beam of light from these devices is adjusted to 1 2 mm ( in) below the bottom edge of the sheet. If the beam is interrupted, the monitoring system reacts. (It is no longer possible to use the rear light barrier with products < 150 mm / 5.91 in.) Missing sheet belt delivery FJ /03 Missing sheet belt delivery with interval control. Delivery after the stitcher with transport tape. For the delivery of semi-finished and faulty products. 7
