7 PUPI Transmission Key Features Superior insulating properties Unlike steel transmission crossarms, PUPI crossarms and braces have excellent insulating properties. In fact, PUPI crossarms are often used with steel or concrete poles to prevent unintended grounding. The smooth, non-porous surface of PUPI crossarms resists surface contamination and will never absorb water, making PUPI a better insulator than wood. PUPI crossarms have passed extensive electrical performance testing by leading independent laboratories. 7

9 PUPI Transmission Key Features EZE-Fit Brace End Fittings Patent-pending design allows brace length to be adjusted by up to 10. Adjustable angle and saw tooth holes allow fitting to poles with predrilled holes. Available for arm braces (with or with out double arm spacers) and for x- braces. Fixed length 45 angle end fittings are also available for both arm braces and x-braces. 9

10 PUPI Transmission Key Features Shorter Order Lead-times We can usually provide significantly shorter lead times than offered by wood H-frame suppliers in most cases we can ship standard product within 6 weeks of order receipt. During 2012, we expanded our facility to double our production capacity, giving us the capacity to meet the needs of the largest customers. We also redesigned our production flow specifically to accommodate the production and assembly of long transmission arms. 10

11 Custom Application Engineering PUPI offers the most complete line of fiberglass transmission crossarms and braces available. PUPI crossarms and braces can be used in combination with any type of pole material and can be fitted to a wide variety of hardware and fittings. Grey and brown colors are available. Our standard offerings are extensive and our engineers are ready to design a PUPI solution to fit nearly any transmission crossarm application. 11

12 MECHANICAL TESTING PUPI transmission crossarms are tested by applying vertical loads at a constant rate to the wire attachments, measuring load and deflection until the beam fractures. H-Frame assemblies are tested in 3 phase, 2 pole configurations. Test specimens are drilled with the same hole configuration as the final product. Production mounts and attachment hardware are used and loads are applied at the same points that will be used in the final application. To assure accuracy, our testing methods and procedures are verified by independent test facilities. PUPI mechanical test methods are designed to closely represent actual product service conditions. 12
