4 Section 1 Executive Summary

5 Phase V Capital Project Executive Summary Progress and Schedule Overview With the New Year underway, the construction at the High School is continuing and progressing very well. Contractors have been continuing to work on site and throughout the building. On site, all contractors have completed removals and relocations of equipment/materials to make room for the structural steel. At the pool, the general has completed installation of the fire wall along the East and South walls of the gymnasium. They have also completed the foundation work at the West side bleacher area and are backfilling and compacting. At corridor 1700, the general contractor is continuing the masonry work for the new connection corridor. The general contractor has begun installation of structural steel on the North end of the pool, specifically the locker rooms and new door 5 area. The general contractor will continue installation of the structural steel from North to South. The general contractor has also received the first set of roof joists and will be installing those once more columns and beams are set in place. The project team has been closely coordinating steel installation with the district, general contractor, and third party testing agency. The HVAC contractor has completed the boiler piping rough in and has performed an initial air test on the system. The plumbing contractor is continuing to rough in roof drain piping. The plumbing contractor is also continuing installation of under slab piping for storm and sanitary connections to the site utilities. The electrical contractor is continuing roughing in conduits and junction boxes and is maintaining temporary electric and lighting to facilitate construction. The contractors are coordinating all work to take advantage of the winter recess (February 18-22) while the building will be unoccupied. The project team is holding pre-installation coordination meetings with the general contractor, their pool subcontractor, and design consultants. These meetings help the project team identify any potential design or construction issues prior to the work commencing.

6 Budget Summary Included in Section 3 are the budget summary spreadsheets detailing where the project stands with each prime contractor for the Capital Project. This budget summary is a total project amount of $29,059,962. Through the month of January, Phase V project is approximately 44.5 % complete, based on the contractor s pay applications, stored materials and work completed. The Project Construction Contingency is $695,685 and of that value, the District has approved 7,732 in project change orders to date. Also built into the prime contractor s contract values are specific and contingency allowances, with the values different for each contract. The total project allowance value for Phase V is $245,000, with $129,405 allowance draw-downs allocated at this time. Currently the project team is tracking issues with an approximate value of $266,736 for the ongoing construction work. This information can be reviewed in Section 4 of this report under the Issue Log.
