3 1. General Matters A. Scope of Application This product is a water tank to be installed in a building that needs water-supplying facilities (indoor/outdoor), and these specifications are for the rustproof Exterior Reinforcing SMC Water Tank. B. Product Requirements This TANK is for storing drinking water, and the product should be made by a maker authenticated by ISO (International Standards Organization). C. Scope of Construction Main construction is up to the water tank main body (SMC Panel), base frame, reinforcing material, assembling of inside and outside ladder and assembling of fittings for piping. D. Structure 1) Composition method: It is square shape panel-assembling method, and for the purpose of improving the contained water quality, the tank is installed with minimized horizontal reinforcing material. 1 Low stage type (height: 1M - 3M): It is a Complete Exterior Reinforcing Type Structure without interior horizontal reinforcing material. 2 High stage type (height: 3.5M - 6M): Preparing for corrosion by chlorine gas, exterior reinforcing method (structure without horizontal reinforcing material) is used in the air section, and in the liquid part only, interior reinforcing method is used; thus, Interior, Exterior Mixed Reinforced Structure is applied. 2) Panel and reinforcing material should be strong enough to sustain the load such as water pressure, etc. 3) This product is a vessel for storing drinking water in which a pollutant should not inflow or generate, and it should be suitable for the rules of sanitary management of tap water facility sanitation and the water tank guidance established by the Ministry of Construction. 4) In this product, there should be a bottom panel in which sediment should not gather, and a drain panel in which the discharge of washed material is easy to clean out

4 (5) In the case of partitioning 1 tank to more than 2 partitions, the structure must be safe from having the disinfectant or pollutants overflow by using the exclusive panel with a partitioning function; thus, they should not overflow into the neighboring tanks when cleaning.. 6) This product is a structure into which rain water cannot enter, and there must be more than one lockable manhole with an inside diameter larger than 900mm so that men or equipment can easily enter through it for cleaning. 2. Product Composition & Manufacturing Specifications A. SMC Panel 1) Panel Material These specifications stipulate a water tank of which the main body is composed of panels (ceiling, side, bottom, and drain) pressurized by a hydraulic press and formed by a mold, and of which the interior and exterior are made of SMC (SHEET MOLDING COMPOUND), raw material, which is reinforced with material by saturating glass fiber to a complex mixed with filler, catalyst, and release agents to the Unsaturated Polyester Resin, and the sealing material is inserted into the joining part, and then the water tank is finally assembled with bolts and nuts at the construction site. 2) Kinds of Panels 1 It has two kinds of structures: single panel structure and heat-retention structure. For an indoor tank, the single panel structure is applied, and for an outdoor tank, the heat-retention panel is used. 2 For free attachment fitting to panels on the side at the bottom, one plain type panel of 0.5x1m is applied in the case of general type, and two panels are applied to partition type. 3) Panel Standard With a standard length of each side of 1x2, 1x1.5, 1x1, 0.5x1, 0.5x0.5 m, it is applied compatibly in accordance with the size of tank. (See Attachment #1: Standard of composition of side panel for height of tank) 4) Panel Thickness As the load is different in accordance with the height of the tank and applied parts, the panel thickness must be a different grade according to the position

Manhole Locking device must be attached and entering easy, and rain water must not flow in Manhole: SMC material (Inside diameter: 900mm or larger) C. Its side deformation must be minimized (less than 1% of tank height may be deformed), and its structure must be for absolute safety and improvement of tank durability. Sealing Material It is sanitary, harmless material and constant to temperature change; it has the same durability as the panel. It is PE or PVC systemic material having excellent durability and stability strength, and is easily treatable product of tape shape. (It is a harmless substance without gathering mold or moss.) For the rubber used for the sealing material of bolts, material satisfying the regulations of rubber KSM 6613 kind 1, No. 1 for tap water must be used. Sealing method by silicon coating in the tank cannot guarantee it to remain watertight for a long period of time, and is harmful due to mold, etc.; thus it cannot be used. G. Bolts & Nuts Dimensions of bolts must correspond with KS, and their diameter must be 10mm or larger, For inside use: STS 304 or more For outside use: Hot dip galvanizing For connecting inside with outside: Fitting assembly is used; head of bolt must be coated with rubber to be watertight. H. Ladder It must have sufficient endurance of load and solidity. The inner ladder must be sanitary. For inside use: FRP drawn formed product - 8 -

Other 1) Thickness of finished mortar on the concrete foundation must be 20mm or thinner. 2) When ordering a tank, the water inlet/outlet and dimensions of the drain socket will be decided. Our company will assemble up to the socket for piping. 3) Connecting work of socket for piping and the piping work must be done by the customer. 4) Considering the ground substance, the customer must complete the foundation work in accordance with the specifications of the designed tank. Gap between pads must be 1m, and the width of the pad 300mm or larger. Upper surface of the pad must be horizontal with the ground surface. (Level of plane must be ±1mm) Strength of the concrete must bev180kgf/ cm2 or more. 5) Pay attention to fire hazards during welding. 6) Piping must be installed from the tank side. 7) For piping work, a support must be erected. Overload must not exert to the inlet/outlet. 8) For installing, working, checking, repairing and maintaining the tank, a space of 600mm all around must be secured. - The End
