Equipment, such as scissor-lifts, will be able to be brought into, through drive-in and roll-up doors, the existing space for work inside the existing building (i.e. mezzanine and stair work). 2. Note #14 on dwg no. E2 describes work related to relocating existing controls. For reference, a photograph of the existing controls is provided below: 3. Contractor staging area to be coordinated with Owner after award of contract. 4. Once the construction project schedule reaches the stage of work to be completed inside the existing building, that work may be done during regular working hours (i.e. mezzanine / platform/ stair removals and new installations, x-brace re-working, new openings, service tie-ins, etc.). Clarifications 1. Refer to the attached SP1 Site Plan drawing, Revision 1, dated December 4, 2017: a. The approximate height of the existing retaining wall is noted on the drawing. Most of the existing wall is approximately 0.9m high. There is a section at the north of the existing retaining wall that ranges in height from approximately 1.2m to 1.7m. b. The approximate grade difference along the new retaining wall will be 2.1 metres between low grade (the parking side), and high grade (the grass seeded side). Design for back slope of 3:1. c. Assume the new retaining wall is to be constructed using new blocks. [Note that the reuse of the existing blocks may be considered as a credit option during construction provided the new block system is compatible with the existing block system, however, for purposes of the bid, assume new blocks.] 2. During construction, the general contractor is to retain the services of a geotechnical engineer as a third party independent testing firm for items such as soil bearing capacities, compaction testing, concrete strength testing, structural steel testing, etc. The cost of this service is to be covered by the Testing and Inspection allowance.

Remove 8 existing concrete-filled steel pipe bollards and bases along west edge of existing building (approximately grid line Q1). b. Provide 10 new concrete-filled steel pipe bollards around new addition and exterior stairs per detail 2/SP1 (this detail added to drawing). c. Existing bollards to remain, have been added to the site plan. d. Along the top of the retaining wall, provide continuous galvanized steel pipe guard rail: 1.1m high, maximum post spacing of 1.5m o/c, top and mid-height horizontal rails. Railing, along with retaining wall, to be pre-engineered complete with submission of certified shop drawings for review. 3. Bid Closing date: revised to Thursday, December 14 th 2017, same times as original bid closing date. Refer to the attached revised Appendix A Bid Form.
