3 Drawings: Roof Panels Receiving and Inspecting Shipments Transportation companies are responsible for shipment from the time that it is received by them until it is delivered. All shipments leaving our plant have been carefully inspected and loaded on the carrier s vehicle. Roof Small H Extrusions If a shipment arrives with the crating or packaging damaged, have the driver note the condition on the bill of lading and inspect the contents immediately for concealed damage. Due to the crate sizes and number of components HEMCO recommends that with any crate damage, even minor, that the bill of lading be signed for noting crate damage pending further inspection for concealed product damage Lights Roof Small H Extrusions If the equipment has been damaged in transit, immediately notify and fi le a claim with the carrier. Do not return to HEMCO. If this procedure is not followed, the carrier will reject the claim and the consignee will suffer the loss. Please notify HEMCO so that we may help you in anyway possible with evaluation, repair, replacement, and valuation of the damage that has occurred. 4 General System Description HEMCO ModuLab Room is constructed and equipped with: Modular wall and ceiling panel construction. Panels are 4 x 8 H 2 thick with a rigid foam core and composite resin surface skin panels. Structural framework to be of clear anodized aluminum extrusions Front to have a horizontal slide glass door with header panel above it The door frame is nominal 96 W x 80 H with (2) glass panels one sliding for entry and one stationary. General Tips Maintenance For all composite surfaces use a general purpose non-abrasive cleaner For glass surfaces use a formula glass cleaner. (Windex, etc.) For painted or powder coated metal surfaces use a general-purpose non-abrasive cleaner. For anodized surfaces use a general-purpose non-abrasive cleaner. (2) Fluorescent lights provided Switches and wiring harness is included Installation: 1. Deliver components to assembly site and segregate. Note identifi cation markings on front of each panel and inside aluminum extrusions. (fi gure 1) NOTE: Quick ratchet bar clamps to step ladder may be used to support the initial panel until other panels can be permanently secured. fi gure1 4 9

5 21. Place and secure work surface with 3-M tape or silicone caulk around the top perimeter of the cabinets. 22. Install fume hood assembly, connect utilities and duct to ceiling. 23. Install stationary door by lifting door (without gray handle) into the top rear door track, lifting and pivoting the bottom of the door onto the lower rear roller track. 24. Install sliding door by lifting door (with gray handle to the outside) into the top front door track, lifting and pivoting the bottom of the door onto the lower front roller track. 25. Stationary door can be locked into place by inserting onto the threshold the stop bar shown. (fi gure 13) 26. Final wiring, duct connections and plumbing to be done per local codes and standards. 27. Seal any air gaps and joints of the enclosure with silicone sealant. Typical air gaps would be walls to ceiling, fl oor perimeter, etc. 28. General clean up of site, installation of any other equipment, etc fi gure Set the fl oor track extrusions on a level fl oor to start installation. Orient so that the front is oriented to suit the customer s requirement. Position the back, left side and right side base extrusions. At the proper location, mount C channel fl oor track and C channel wall track for both left, right, and rear walls. Anchor to your fl oor and/or walls utilizing fasteners suitable for the fl oor and wall construction. Left and right would be determined by facing front of enclosure and the drawing set. 3. Install the back wall section fi rst by inserting the wall panel into the base C channels. Insertion may be aided by utilizing a thin fl exible putty or spackling knife to guide the panel into the track. Secure with provided #8 or #10 sheet metal screws. Utilized #8 screws fi rst, however, due to pre-assembly the #8 screw may strip or may not bite then utilize the #10 screw. 4. Install fi rst of the rear wall panels by inserting into base C channel. Secure with provided #8 or #10 sheet metal screws. fi gure 2 5. Repeat above procedure for remaining rear wall panels. Be sure panels are seated fully into base C channel and H channel (fi gure 2) and securely into existing wall panels at the splice junctions. Secure with #8 screws. 6. Install left & right panels into fl oor C channel & back panel corner extrusion. (fi gures 3 & 4) fi gure 4 8 fi gure 3 7. Slide in either left or right side panel and screw to corner aluminum extrusion.(fi gures 3 & 4) 5

6 8. Place ceiling aluminum extrusion around top, add header piece, then ceiling panels. (fi gure 5) 12. Slide header panel into the header channels. Secure with #8 screws (figures 9 & 10) 9. Add door jam and doors once all walls and ceiling are assembled. fi gure Assemble the sliding door frame with provided hardware. (fi gures 6 & 7) fi gure 9 fi gure Install the top H channel on all walls and the header panel. 14. Set front ceiling panel in place, on the seat of the H extrusions. Set rear ceiling panel in place on the seat of the H extrusions. Secure with #8 screws. 15. Connect wiring harness to supply junction box. Secure with provided conduit clamps. 16. Connect switch on side wall to supply junction box. fi gure Connect harness leads as marked and/or as per local codes and standards. (fi gure 11) fi gure 11 fi gure Install the sliding door frame to the left-side wall. Secure with provided #8 or #10 sheet metal screws. (fi gure 8) 18. Place the cabinets and fi ller panel in the general orientation and location in preparation of securing them together.(see drawing page 10) 19. Secure cabinets a slide them into fi nal location. (fi gure 12) 20. Level cabinet assembly as a single unit with leveling feet. Feet can be accessed through plugs in the interior bottom of the cabinet fl oor. fi gure 8 fi gure
