It should then be nailed (with broad-headed nails) or stapled in the overlapping section, with the overlap covering the nails or staples. Tape the overlaps down with Ampacoll XT 60 mm or with the integrated tape to make them rain-proof and windproof. Rub the adhesive locations in well. Transverse joints should also overlap by 10 cm. These should be taped

2 with Ampacoll XT 60 mm or Ampacoll Superfix. Fix cross battens with Ampacoll ND nail seals or Ampacoll ND.Band / ND Duo nail seal tape. Connections to gutter beds and the edges of chimneys, dormer windows and other built-in fitments must be permanently glued with Ampacoll Superfix and mechanically secured. Penetration points such as ventilation shafts, ventilation flues, etc must be sealed with Ampacoll BK 535 butyl rubber tape. Porous, dusty or fleecy subsurfaces must be pre-treated with a Ampacoll Primer 531 or Ampacoll Connecto before applying Ampacoll BK butyl tapes. Notes Use cross battens to secure roof liners (against the risk of storm damage) after they have been laid. If the nail sealant or nail seal tape is glued directly onto the liner, the adhesive layer will form an additional seal. Cross battens that are screwed down are better at sealing off the fixing points than those that are nailed down. It will not be possible to apply glue to roof liners or underlays that are damp (let alone wet). Make sure that the correct techniques are used if treading on the roof liner in its untreated state, or protect the roof liner in any areas of heavy traffic (escape exits etc.). A variety of chemicals, wood preservatives and alkaline construction materials may reduce the liner s resistance to the ingress of water and should be avoided please ask us if you are in any doubt. You will find further information on the use of our materials on the Internet, at Please also see the «Ampack System Adhesive Technology» page in the current sales price list and on our website. 4 Adhesive technology Ampacoll ND duo Security is part of the system at Ampack. We cover the cost of removal and replacement, and consequential damage, as well as the replacement materials. Option 1: Mark out a line for each batten and glue Ampacoll ND Duo directly onto the underlay material. Then fix the battens. Option 2: Apply Ampacoll ND Duo directly to the battens. This can be carried out in the workshop. The battens can then be easily moved around on the roofing membrane and positioned correctly. The liner can be easily removed from the side, without tearing. Ampack recommends Counter battens are subject to extreme cycles of wet and dry. For a better seal, screwing down the battens is preferable to nailing. Ampacoll XT 60 The surfaces to be bonded must be clean, dry, and free of dust and grease. Ampacoll XT is ideal for the airtight and windproof bonding of overlap joints, for taping of front and corner connections in wood panels, for bridging both small and large joints between structural elements, and taping boards used in apexes, ridges and coving. Ampacoll XT bonds immediately to the designated substrate. It is largely unaffected by normal weathering for up to 4 months. Please note that after taping, the joints should not be mechanically damaged (for example, by objects being dragged over them). Ampacoll Superfix (Cartridge) Apply around 1 cm of Ampacoll Superfix to the location to be bonded and press down within 20 minutes. At least one of the surfaces to be bonded should be open to diffusion, or the adhesive seam

5 should have plenty of air to ensure a short curing time. The material to be bonded can also be fixed with an adhesive tape during the curing time, ideally Ampacoll XT. Apply Ampacoll Superfix to clean and dust free surfaces. If possible they should be dry, but even wet surfaces can be glued due to the unique properties of Ampacoll Superfix. Universal application Ampacoll Superfix is ideal for bonding the joints and edge connections of roof lining membranes and vapour barriers on most commercially available materials. Whether in window or roof structures with Ampacoll Superfix you have the right product. Workable even at -20 C: Ampacoll Superfix is easily applied at even the lowest temperature s!
