Acknowledgment of this addendum must be noted on the form of proposal. DRAWINGS: Site Plan Cover Sheet and Site Plan: Remove and discard the original Site Plan / Watershed Control Plan included with the drawings, and add the attached Site Plan Cover Sheet which was required by the county inspection department and a revised Site Plan / Watershed Control Plan noting the correct site address (two sheets total). 2 Project No DIVISION 13. SPECIAL CONSTRUCTION SECTION METAL BUILDING SYSTEMS - TUBULAR STEEL STRUCTURES PART 1 - GENERAL 1.01 Scope: A. These specifications are for the design, supply, and erection of tubular steel structures in include the following: 1. Pre-engineered, structural tubular steel building frame. 2. Metal wall, roof panels, purlins, including trim and accessories. 3. Roll-up doors. 4. Single hung windows. B. The design, supply, and erection of the building shall be from a single source. C. The tubular steel structure shall be designed, supplied, and erected in accordance with these specifications and associated drawings Related Sections: A. CONCRETE REINFORCING (Section ). B. CAST IN PLACE CONCRETE (Section ). C. CAULKING & SEALANTS (Section ). D. HOLLOW METAL DOORS AND FRAMES (Section ). E. FINISHED HARDWARE (Section ) References: A. The design of the tubular steel structure shall be in accordance with the North Carolina State Building Code and all local requirements. B. All light gauge cold formed structural members and panels shall be designed in accordance with the latest version, with addendum, of the AISI Specification for the design of Cold-Formed Steel Structural Members. C. Welding of the light gauge cold-formed structural members shall be in accordance with the latest version of the Structural Welding Code - Sheet Steel (ANSI/AWS D1.3). D. All structural steel sections shall be designed in accordance with the latest version, with addendums, of the AISC Specifications for the Design, Fabrication and Erection of Structural Steel for Buildings. E. Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA): 1. Common Industry Practices. 2. Low Rise Building Systems Manual System Description: A. The building system shall be designed, supplied and installed by a single entity that has been in business of supplying similar types of structures for at least five years. The same entity shall be responsible for the engineering evaluation of any remaining structures. B. Design Requirements: 1. Design framing and panels in accordance with MBMA Manual. 2. Design structural steel members and light gage steel framing in accordance with AISC Specifications. 3. Welded connections: In accordance with AWS D Design anchor bolts to resist horizontal and uplift reactions for the building frame. Install in complete compliance with the approved engineered shop drawings. 5. Tolerances: Meet fabrication tolerances specified in MBMA Common Industry Practices. 6. Thermal expansion and contraction: Withstand movement caused by an ambient temperature range of 120 degrees F and a surface temperature range of 160 degrees F. C. Design Loads:

Building system to be certified by an N.C. registered engineer for 140 mph wind and 35 psf snow load. 2. Maximum allowable deflection for structural members and assemblies to be in compliance with the requirements in the NC State Building Code. 3. Include weight of additional imposed loads of mechanical and electrical systems, ceiling, roofing, and other elements. 4. Special loads: Concentrated loads if indicated Quality Assurance: A. All steel framing fabrication shall be done by an approved fabricator, certified by an independent agency, for the type of fabrication required. Certification shall be as required by the State of North Carolina and all local authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ). B. Welders shall have a valid certification for the type of welding required and perform all steel welding Submittals: A. As required by Section B. Shop drawings sealed by an engineer licensed in the State of North Carolina. C. Structural calculations sealed by an engineer licensed in the State of North Carolina. D. Standard colors for selection. E. The manufacturer and installer shall provide an evaluation and approval letter for the existing concrete slab and foundation shown to be reused as a part of the base bid Warranty: A. The building shall be warrantied for a period of not less than one year from the date of substantial completion. The warranty shall be to repair or replace any defect in workmanship and or materials. B. The steel frame shall have a 20 year limited rust through warranty. PART 2 - PRODUCTS 2.01 General: A. The metal barn style and design shall be as shown on the drawings. B. Acceptable manufacturers: 1. Steel Buildings & Structures. 2. Versatube Building Systems. 3. Viking Steel Structures, 4. Approved equal Materials: A. Building frame: Materials shall conform to the minimum requirements for the standards noted below: 1. Light gauge steel beams and columns: Shall conform to ASTM A653 or A611 with a minimum yield strength of 55 ksi. 2. Structural steel members: Shall conform to ASTM A36 with a minimum yield strength of 36 ksi, or equal. 3. Frame size shall be minimum 2.25" x 2.25" x 12 gauge tubing. 4. Tubing shall have a G-60 galvanized coating. 5. Roof purlins: 1.125" 18 gauge galvanized furring channels spaced and fastened to the tubing support framing as noted on the approved shop drawings. 6. Wall purlins:

SPECIAL CONSTRUCTION SECTION METAL BUILDING SYSTEMS - TUBULAR STEEL STRUCTURES (CONTINUED) 1.125" 18 gauge galvanized furring channels spaced and fastened to the tubing support framing, or 2.25" galvanized rectangular steel tubing installed between the tubing support framing, as noted and detailed on the approved shop drawings. 7. Single leg and double leg support frames as shown on the drawings and or required by the engineered shop drawings. B. Roof and wall panels: 1. Steel roof and wall panels shall be equal to AEP Span HR-36, 29 gauge sheet metal, 36" wide panels with manufacturer s standard polyester finish. 2. Color to be selected. C. Anchors: As required by the manufacturer for attachment to the existing concrete slab (base bid), and the new concrete slab and foundation (new). In accordance with approved engineered shop drawings. D. Options and accessories: 1. Enclosure framing for side and end walls. 2. Aluminum roll-up drum doors: A. Quantity, size and locations as indicated on the schedules and drawings with required end wall and side wall frame outs. B. Furnished with lever type operating locking keyed latches. Permanent cylinders to be furnished by the finished hardware supplier. 3. Aluminum frame windows: A. Quantity, size and locations as indicated on the drawings with required end wall and side wall frame outs. B. Single hung operation with locking capability. C. Manufacturer s standard clear glazing. 4. Matching gable end, J trim, corner, and all other trim and closure items necessary for a complete weather-tight project. PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.01 Inspection: The building installer shall inspect the installation conditions prior to starting the erection and bring any concerns to the attention of the General Contractor and the Architect. Commencement of the work shall imply acceptance of the installation conditions. Coordinate all necessary site general and special inspections with the contractor Installation: The same company that produced the approved shop drawings and supplied the building materials shall perform the installation of the building.
