Properties evaluated: Fire classification Wind resistance Weather resistance.2 Evaluation to the following green code: 20 California Green Building Standards Code (CALGreen) Title 2, Part Attributes verified: See Section. 2.0 USES The Allmet steel roofing panels are used as Class A, B, or C roof coverings over new and existing roofs, when installed in accordance with this report..0 DESCRIPTION. General: The Allmet steel roofing panels are 26 gauge [nominal inch (0.5 mm) AZ 50 (AZ 50], hot-dipped aluminum-zinc alloy coated steel complying with ASTM A792, SS, Grade. The upper surface and flange edges of the Allmet Steel Roofing Panels are finished with stone chips bonded to the steel substrate with acrylic resin, and the surface is finished with a clear acrylic over-glaze. Accessory gable, ridge, hip and trim panels are produced in a similar manner. See Figures and 2 for the panel profiles. The attributes of the steel roofing panels have been verified as conforming to the provisions of CALGreen Section A for reduced maintenance. Note that the decisions on compliance for those areas rest with the user of this report. The user is advised of the project-specific provisions that may be contingent upon meeting specific conditions, and the verification of those conditions is outside the scope of this report. These codes or standards often provide supplemental information as guidance..2 Continental, Wood Shake, Shadowline, Talavera SF, Talavera NB, Tudor Slate NB and Ridgewood NB: The panels are 9 / inches wide by 6 / 2 inches deep (25 mm by 9 mm), with an installed exposure that is 7 / inches wide by 5 / 6 inches deep (200 mm by 02 mm). Each panel has a vertical lap interlock and fastening face created by a / -inch (9 mm) downturned front flange and a / -inch (9 mm) upturned back flange. Each panel interlocks with adjacent panels to provide 2-inch (5 mm) side laps at each end. Individual panels weigh 6.0 pounds (2.7 kg). The installed weight of the panels is. pounds per square foot (6. kg/m 2 ).. Classic Tile and Classic Tile NB: The Classic Tile panels are / 2 inches wide by 6 / 2 inches deep (0 mm by 9 mm), and the installed exposure is 2 inches wide by / 2 inches deep (067 mm by 58 mm). Each panel has a vertical lap interlock and fastening face created by a / -inch (20 mm) downturned front flange. Each panel interlocks with adjacent panels to provide 2 / 2 -inch (6 mm) side laps at each end. Individual panels weigh 5.5 pounds (2.5 kg). The installed weight is of the panels. pounds per square foot (6. kg/m 2 ). General: All panels must be installed in accordance with the applicable code, this report and the manufacturer s published installation instructions... Underlayment: Underlayment must be a minimum of two layers of Type I (No.5) or one layer of Type II (No. 0) asphalt-saturated organic felt complying with ASTM D226, or one layer of GAF VersaShield Fire- Resistant Roof Deck Protection recognized in ICC-ES evaluation report ESR Roof Slope Limitations: The panels must be installed on roofs with a minimum slope of :2 (25 percent). For roof slopes of less than :2 (25 percent), the panels are considered decorative and must be installed over a roof covering system complying with the applicable code, subject to the code official s approval... Severe Climate Areas: In areas where there has been a history of ice forming along the eaves and causing a backup of water, an ice barrier must be installed in accordance with the 205, 202 and 2009 IBC Section , 2006 IBC Section or IRC Section R905..., as applicable..2 Continental, Wood Shake, Shadowline, Talavera SF and Classic Tile :.2. Battens and Counterbattens: For the Continental, Wood Shake, Shadowline, Talavera SF and Classic Tile Panels, wood battens must be nominally 2-by-2 and counterbattens must be -by- lumber having a specific gravity as specified for the fastening conditions given in Table or Table. Batten spacing must be in 5 / 6 inches (02 mm) for Continental, Wood Shake, Shadowline, and Talavera SF, and / 2 inches (58 mm) for Classic Tile. Steel battens must be hat-shaped sections with a / 2- inch (8 mm) minimum height, and a minimum base metal of No. 22 gage [ inch (0.76 mm) minimum base-metal thickness] galvanized steel. See Figure..2.2 New Construction Application: For the Continental, Wood Shake, Shadowline, Talavera SF and Classic Tile panels, wood battens installed at the appropriate spacing over solid, closely fitted decking or spaced sheathing, must be attached to the supporting framing members which are spaced a maximum of 2 inches (60 mm) on center and fastened with corrosionresistant ring-shanked nails or screws in accordance with Tables, 2 and. For roofs without decking (spaced sheathing) application must be in accordance with Tables 8, 9 and 0. When counterbattens are used, they must be fastened to framing at a maximum of 2 inches (60 mm) on center per Tables and. Valleys must be flashed in accordance with Section of the 205, 202 and 2009 IBC, Section of the 2006 IBC, or IRC Section R905..6, as applicable. Steel battens must be attached to the supporting framing members that are spaced a maximum of 2 inches (60 mm) on center, with two No.0 by / -inch-long (9 mm), corrosion-resistant sheet metal screws into each framing member. Flashing material must be minimum No. 26 gage [0.09 inch (0.8 mm)], corrosion-resistant metal flashing installed in accordance with the manufacturer s published installation instructions. Other flashings must be installed in accordance with IBC Section 50.2 and IRC Section R90.2, as applicable. All full-size panels may be fastened to the roof (battens or counterbattens) prior to the cutting of panels at hips, ridges or valleys. The panels must be staggered a minimum of one module, and must be fastened to the battens with corrosion-resistant ring shank nails or screws in accordance with Tables, 2,, 8, 9 and 0, as applicable. Fasteners must be positioned outside water channels along the down-turned edge of the panel. Care must be exercised in nailing to avoid striking the finished surface of the panel or over-driving the screws. Gable, hip and ridge terminations must be provided with a continuous trim piece in accordance with the manufacturer s published installation manual. Roof openings and penetrations must be flashed in accordance with IBC Section 50.2 or IRC Section R90.2, and in accordance with the manufacturer s published installation manual. Care must be taken to adequately waterproof the openings and support them with additional blocking or roof framing as necessary.. Talavera NB, Tudor Slate NB, Ridgewood NB and Classic Tile NB (Direct-to-Deck Applications): New Construction Applications: The Type NB panels are designed to be installed over solid, closely fitted decking or spaced sheathing complying with the applicable code. Each course of panels must be staggered from the previous course installed in accordance with the manufacturer s published installation instructions. Full-sized panels must be placed starting at the eaves and fastened to either fascia board, starter batten or nominally -by-2 or -by- spruce-pine-fir lumber, depending on the requirement, or steel battens, in accordance with the manufacturer s published installation instructions. Fasteners in accordance with Tables, 2 and must be placed into the front downturn of the panel, penetrating through the back of the panel beneath into the decking or close fitting sheathing or in accordance with Tables 8, 9 and 0 into spaced sheathing, providing the space between boards is filled as necessary to provide the base for fastening. In-fill materials must be of the same thickness as existing material. Valleys must be flashed in accordance with the applicable code. Flashing material must be minimum No. 26 gage [0.09 inch (0.8 mm)], corrosion-resistant metal flashing installed in accordance with the manufacturer s published installation instructions. See Figure. Gable, hip and ridge tile terminations must be capped with appropriate flashing or cap trims per the manufacturer s installation manual. Openings in the roof must be flashed with minimum No. 26 gage [0.09 inch (0.8 mm)] corrosion-resistant metal flashing, as required by Section 50.2 of the IBC and Section R90.2 of the IRC.. Fire Classification:.. 205, 202, 2009 and 2006 IBC and IRC: Steel roofing panels, when installed as described in the following sections, are recognized as Class A, Class B or Class C roof assemblies in accordance with ASTM E08 or UL Class C: The panels must be installed on a minimum 5 / 2 -inch-thick (.9 mm) wood structural panel, or spaced sheathing covered with one layer of Type II (No. 0) or two layers of Type I (No. 5) asphalt-saturated organic felt complying with ASTM D Class B: The panels must be installed on a minimum 5 / 2 -inch-thick (.9 mm) wood structural panel, or spaced sheathing covered with one layer of GAF VersaShield Fire-Resistant Roof Deck Protection recognized in ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-205. For optional batten applications, nominally 2-by-2 wood batten strips must be fastened to the deck with panels nailed or

4 ESR-286 Most Widely Accepted and Trusted Page of 5 screwed to the battens. Installation must be in accordance with Section.,.2 or..... Class A (Assembly ): The panels must be installed on minimum 5 / 2 -inch-thick (.9 mm) wood structural panels or spaced sheathing covered with a / 2 -inch-thick (2.7 mm) gypsum board or / -inch-thick (6. mm) G-P Gypsum DensDeck mechanically fastened to the deck with an optional one layer of Type I (No. 5) felt over the gypsum board. For optional batten applications, nominally 2-by-2 wood batten strips must be fastened to the deck with panels nailed or screwed to the battens. Installation must be in accordance with Section.,.2 or. of this report. When nominally 2-by-2 wood batten strips are not used (i.e., panels installed directly to deck), the joints in the DensDeck must be offset 6 inches (52. mm) from the joints in the deck.... Class A (Assembly 2): The panels must be installed on a minimum 5 / 2 -inch-thick (.9 mm) wood structural panel, or spaced sheathing covered with one layer of GAF VersaShield Fire-Resistant Roof Deck Protection recognized in ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-205. For optional batten applications, nominally 2-by-2 wood batten strips must be fastened to the deck with panels nailed or screwed to the battens. Installation must be in accordance with Section.,.2 or. of this report..5 Reroofing Applications:.5. General: With the existing roof covering removed all conditions noted in Sections. through. apply. The existing roof must be inspected and prepared in accordance with the requirements of IBC Section 50 or IRC Section R Continental, Wood Shake, Shadowline, Talavera SF and Classic Tile : The panels may be installed over existing wood shake, wood shingle, asphalt shingle or built-up roof, subject to the conditions set forth here, and providing that the roof slope is as specified in Section..2. If the existing roof covering was installed on spaced sheathing, the gaps must be completely filled in to provide closely fitted decking having joints spaced approximately / 8 inch (.2 mm). For a nonclassified roof covering system, additional structural sheathing boards must be attached to the roof framing to partially fill in the spaced sheathing as required to accommodate all batten fastening locations. Battens must be installed in accordance with Tables, 5, 6 and 7. Wood counterbattens must be installed parallel to the framing (perpendicular to the eaves) at a maximum spacing of 2 inches (60 mm) on center and fastened in accordance with Tables and. When the panels are used to recover an existing classified fire-retardant roof covering, the resulting fireretardant classification remains unchanged. When installation is over wood shingle or wood shake roofs, the entire existing roof surface must be covered with gypsum board, mineral fiber or other approved materials securely fastened in place in accordance with Section 50. of the IBC or Section R907. of the IRC. Alternatively, one layer of GAF VersaShield Fire- Resistant Roof Deck Protection recognized in ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-205 must be used to cover the entire existing roof. For installations over existing built-up roof coverings, all loose gravel and debris must be swept off the roof. Blisters in the plies must be cut and nailed flat. Raised perimeters, such as gravel stops, must be covered by the roofing system. Where the system is installed over integral gutter, a fascia board nailed to the rafters must be provided and installed outside the gutter..5. Fire Classification Reroofing (205, 202, 2009 and 2006 IBC and IRC):.5.. (Continental, Wood Shake, Shadowline, Talavera SF and Classic Tile ):.5... Class C: The ridge and hip caps must be removed and the existing roof covering cut back flush with the fascia or barge cover. Except when installation is over one layer of asphalt shingles, wood counterbattens must be installed parallel to the framing members at a maximum of 2 inches (60 mm) on center. Counterbattens must be fastened in accordance with Table, 5, 6 or 7 with corrosion-resistant ring shank nails or screws penetrating completely through the roof sheathing or at least inch (25 mm) into the roof framing member. Nominally 2-by-2 battens must be fastened to the counterbattens with corrosion-resistant ring shank nails or screws in accordance with Tables, 2,,, 5, 6 and 7. The panels must be fastened to the battens according to Tables, 2 and. New flashing is to be installed over and around all existing flashing, vents and chimneys in accordance with the applicable codes Class B: Installation is similar to that for Class C except that an underlayment of one layer of GAF VersaShield Fire-Resistant Roof Deck Protection, installed in accordance with ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-205, or one layer of mineral-surfaced 72-pound cap sheet complying with ASTM D909, installed in the customary manner with 2-inch (5 mm) head laps over the existing roof-covering system, and FSK faced batt and blanket, face-up and / 2 inches thick (8 mm), must be installed directly over the existing roof and mechanically fastened prior to installation of the battening system Class A: Installation is similar to that for Class C roofs except that the addition of one of the following is required: a. One layer of minimum / -inch-thick (6. mm) G-P Gypsum Corporation DensDeck placed directly over the existing roof cover (mechanically fastened to the roof deck), followed by the panels fastened to the batten strips and optional counterbattens. b. One layer of GAF VersaShield Fire-Resistant Roof Deck Protection recognized in ESR-205 followed by one layer of Type II (No. 0) asphalt-saturated organic felt complying with ASTM D226 followed by the panels fastened to the batten strip and optional counterbattens. c. Two layers of GAF VersaShield Fire-Resistant Roof Deck Protection recognized in ESR-205 followed by the panels fastened to the batten strip and optional counterbattens Talavera NB, Tudor Slate NB, Ridgewood NB and Classic Tile NB (Direct-to-Deck Application): The roofing panels may be installed over existing asphalt shingles or built-up roofing, subject to the conditions set forth in this report and provided the installation complies with Section..2 and the applicable code. The panels must be fastened through the existing roof covering, to the solid or closely fitted roof sheathing. Tile fasteners and fastening required must be in accordance with Tables, 2,, 8, 9 and 0. New flashing must be installed over and around all existing flashing in accordance with this report and the requirements of the applicable code. The existing roof must conform to Section 50 of the IBC and Section R907 of the IRC. All loose gravel and debris must be swept off existing roof coverings. Blisters in the plies must be cut and nailed flat. Ridge and hip caps

When panels are installed over an existing classified fireretardant roof covering, the resulting fire classification remains unchanged Class C: For the Talavera NB, Tudor Slate NB, Ridgewood NB and Classic Tile NB, the ridge and hip caps must be removed and the existing roof covering cut back flush with the fascia or barge cover covered with a minimum of one layer of Type II (No. 0) or two layers of Type I (No. 5) asphalt-saturated organic felt complying with ASTM D226, followed by the panels fastened to the deck in accordance with Tables, 2,, 8, 9 and Class B: Installation is similar to that for Class C except that there must be an underlayment of one layer of GAF VersaShield Fire-Resistant Roof Deck Protection installed in accordance with ESR-205, or one layer of mineral-saturated 72-pound cap sheet complying with ASTM D909 and installed in the customary manner with 2-inch (5 mm) head laps over the existing roof covering system, followed by the panels Class A: Installation is similar to that for Class C roof except that the addition of one of the following is required: a. One layer of minimum / -inch-thick (6. mm) G-P Gypsum Corporation DensDeck placed directly over the existing roof cover (mechanically fastened to the roof deck), followed by the installation of the panels. b. Two layers of GAF VersaShield Fire-Resistant Roof Deck Protection installed in accordance with ESR-205, followed by the installation of the panels..6 Wind Uplift Resistance: The maximum allowable wind speeds are as shown in Tables, 2,, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9..7 Live Loads: The Allmet steel roofing panels described in this report have an allowable load of 78.5 psf (8 kg/m ), when applied to 2-by-2 spruce-pine-fir battens spaced at a maximum of 5.8 inches (00 mm) on center. 5.0 CONDITIONS OF USE The Allmet steel roofing panels described in this report comply with, or are suitable alternatives to what is specified in, those codes listed in Section.0 of this report, subject to the following conditions: 5. The panels are manufactured, identified and installed in accordance with the applicable code, this report and the manufacturer s published installation instructions. In the event of a conflict between this report and the manufacturer s published installation instructions, this report governs. 5.2 Prior to reroofing with the panels, the existing roof must be inspected and approved by the code official, as required by the applicable code. 5. A copy of the manufacturer s installation instructions must be available at all times on the jobsite during installation. 5. The roofing panels are produced in Oceanside, California, under a quality-control program with inspections by ICC-ES. 6.0 EVIDENCE SUBMITTED 6. Data in accordance with the ICC-ES Acceptance Criteria for Metal Roof Coverings (AC66), dated October 202 (editorially revised June 205). 6.2 Engineering calculations for wind uplift tests and gravity load tests. 7.0 IDENTIFICATION Affixed to the back of each tile panel is a label bearing the manufacturer s name (Allmet Roofing Products) and address, the product name and the evaluation report number (ESR-286).

CBC: The Allmet steel roofing panels described in the master report ESR-286 may be used where a Class A roof covering complying with CBC Section 505.., a Class B roof covering complying with CBC Section , or a Class C roof covering complying with CBC Section 505.., is required, provided installation is in accordance with the master report. The roofing panels may be used in the construction of new buildings located in a Fire Hazard Zone within a State Responsibility Area or any Wildland Urban Interface Fire Area, provided installation is in accordance with the master report and the additional requirements of Sections 70A. and 705A of the CBC. 2.2 CRC: The Allmet steel roofing panels described in the master report ESR-286 may be used where a Class A roof covering complying with CRC Section R902.., a Class B roof covering complying with CRC Section R902..2, or a Class C roof covering complying with CRC Section R902.., is required, provided installation is in accordance with the master report and the additional requirements of Section R905. of the CRC. The roofing panels may be used in the construction of new buildings located in any Wildland Urban Interface Fire Area, provided installation is in accordance with the master report and the additional requirements of Sections R27... and R27.5 of the CRC. The products recognized in this supplement have not been evaluated for compliance with the International Wildland Urban Interface Code. This supplement expires concurrently with the master report, reissued May 206 and revised June 206.
