Geotechnical Engineering Software GEO5
GEO5 software suite is designed to solve various geotechnical problems. The easy -to -use suite consists of individual programs with an unified and user-friendly interface. Each program is used to analyze a different geotechnical task but all modules communicate with each other to form an integrated suite. Geotechnical Engineering Software GEO5
7.Analysis of Advanced Geotechnical Tasks - FEM 1.Stability Analysis 2.Excavation Design 6.Digital Modeling of Terrain GEO5 3.Retaining Wall Design 5.Soil Settlement Analysis 4.Foundation Design
Slope Stability 1.Stability Analysis Rock Stability MSE Wall
Slope Stability Analysis Slope Stability is the basic program for modelling layered slopes, embankments or earth cuts. The program solves slope stability problems assuming either circular or polygonal slips including an automatic search for the most critical surface. There are several adopted approaches starting with simplified methods (Fellenius, Bishop) up to rigorous methods (Spencer, Morgerstein, Janbu, Sarma) that fulfill all boundary conditions. The program communicates with all programs used for analysis of retaining structures and walls. Analysis of Rock Slope Stability The program analyses the stability of rock slopes and walls for a specified type of failure, including a planar or polygonal slip surface or soil (rock) wedge.
Mechanically Stabilized Earth Walls design The MSE Wall program analyzes slopes reinforced with geo-reinforcements. It contains a built-in database of geo-reinforcements supplied by leading producers. However, it is still possible to adopt an arbitrary geo-reinforcement defined by the user.
2. Excavation Design Sheeting Design Sheeting Check Shaft
Sheeting Design - Design and Analysis of Sheet Piles and Other Retaining Wall Types The program is used for design and analysis of variety of retaining structures such as anchored retaining wall and sheet pile retaining wall. It provides required pile embedment lengths (for fixed and hinged toes), bending moments, internal forces and forces in anchors. Final analysis of multiplied anchored walls should be provided by GEO5 Sheeting Check program (elastoplastic nonlinear method). Sheeting design provides only preliminary analysis.
Sheeting Check - Excavation Design and Analysis (Non-linear Elastic/Plastic Model) The program is used for the analysis of shallow and deep excavations and retaining structures (anchored, nonanchored cantilever and prop or strut walls) by the method of elastoplastic nonlinear analysis. Program allows the accurate modelling of structural behavior during construction process, determination of the displacement field, the internal forces in the structure and the post-tensioning of anchors. Shaft - Circular Shaft Design Program Shaft serves for analysis of spatial earth pressures on circular shaft and determination of internal forces on the structure.
3. Retaining Wall Design Cantilever Wall Nailed Slope Gravity Wall Gabion Masonry Wall Prefab Wall Earth Pressure Abutment Redi Rock Wall
Cantilever - Design and Analysis of Cantilever Retaining Wall The program is used to verify cantilever wall design. It offers a number of wall shapes and checks reinforced concrete cross-sections Nailed Slope - Soil Nailing Wall Design and Analysis The program analyses nailed walls and slopes of various shapes.
Gravity Wall - Design and Check of Gravity Retaining Wall The program is used to verify gravity wall design. It offers a number of wall shapes and checks mass concrete cross-sections. Gabion - Design and Analysis of Gabion Walls The program is used to verify the design of walls built from wired baskets filled with rock (gabions). It allows the analysis of arbitrary shapes including overhangs requiring anchoring.
Masonry Wall - Reinforced Masonry Retaining Wall Analysis Verification of reinforced masonry walls. Prefab Wall Block Retaining Wall Design Software The program is used to verify retaining walls made from prefabricated blocks (block walls). Earth Pressure - Calculation of Earth Pressures The program computes basic earth pressures (active, passive pressure, and pressure at rest) acting upon an arbitrary shaped structure.
Abutment - Bridge Abutment Analysis The program serves to verify abutment and wing wall design. It allows for checking the abutment for overturning, translation, bearing capacity of foundation soil and for dimensioning of decisive concrete or reinforced concrete sections (including wings), respectively. Redi Rock Wall - Retaining Wall Analysis The program Redi Rock wall is used to design and check a retaining walls made from blocks produced by Redi- Rock, Inc (USA). Program was developed for Redi-Rock, Inc. and is available free of charge. The program is developed as a part of GEO5 software and includes freeware versions of program Slope Stability and Spread Footing.
4. Foundation Design Spread Footing Piles Pile Group Pile CPT Micropile Plate Beam
Spread Footing - Spread Footings Design This program is used for the design of spread footings subject to general loading. It computes bearing capacity, settlement and rotation of a footing, and determines required longitudinal and shear reinforcement. Piles - Analysis of a Single Pile (Both Vertical and Lateral Load) The program is designed to analyze vertical bearing capacity of a pile loaded both in tension and compression, pile settlement as well as bearing capacity of a solitary pile. Verification analysis can be performed employing EN standard or classical approach (limit states, factor of safety)
Pile Group - Analysis of Group of Piles (Raft Foundations, Pile Cap) The program performs the analysis of group of piles (raft foundation with a rigid foundation plate) using both spring method (FEM) and analytical approaches. The program assumes a rectangular grid of vertical piles, general loading acting on an upper plate. Geological environment consists of horizontal layers. Both floating piles and piles fixed into the subsoil can be considered. Pile CPT - Pile Design Based on Cone Penetration Test Results (CPTs) The program verifies the bearing capacity and settlement of either an isolated pile or a group of piles based on the results provided by (static) cone penetration tests (CPT)
Micropile - Design and Analysis of Micropiles The program verifies tubular micropiles (micropiles reinforced by a steel tube). When calculating the micropile bearing capacity, the program checks both the micropile root and shaft. Plate - Foundation Mat, Slab-on-Grade Foundation Analysis by the Finite Element Method The program performs the analysis of foundation mats, slabs on grade of any shape using the Finite Element Method.
Beam - Beams on Elastic Foundations The program provides the analysis of foundation beams resting on elastic subsoil.
5. Soil Settlement Analysis Settlement Ground Loss
Settlement - Soil Settlement Analysis Settlement and consolidation program used to determine vertical settlement and time-dependent consolidation of soils underneath embankments, foundations, earth dams and surface loads. Ground Loss - Assessment of Tunnel Induced Settlement Damage The program is designed to analyze and determine the shape of the subsidence trough above excavations and to evaluate the damage to buildings situated in the affected area.
6. Digital Modeling of Terrain Terrain
Terrain Digital Model of Terrain The program creates digital terrain models (DEM, DTM) from input data points and holes. Program calculates excavation and embankment fill & cut volumes and also serves as task manager for another GEO5 programs.
7. Analysis of Advanced Geotechnical Tasks FEM FEM FEM Tunnel FEM Water Flow FEM - Consolidation
FEM - Modeling of Various Geotechnical Problems by FEM The program can model and analyze a wide range of geotechnical problems including terrain settlement, sheet piling/diaphragm walls, underpinning of structures, slope stability, beams on foundation, excavation, etc FEM Tunnel - Tunnel Analysis The Tunnel module is used for analysis and design of underground tunnels. Tunnel is an extension module of the program FEM for analysis of geotechnical problems.
FEM Water Flow - Groundwater Flow Analysis FEM Water Flow serves to perform steady state analysis of water flowing through a mass body. Water Flow is an extension module of the program FEM for analysis of wide scale of geotechnical problems. FEM Consolidation - Time Dependent Settlement Analysis The Consolidation module is used to perform time dependent settlement analysis under foundations, embankments and surface loads. Consolidation is an extension module of the program FEM for analysis of geotechnical problems.
