Aluminum-framed storefront system includes: tubular aluminum sections; aluminum and glass entrances; shop fabricated, factory finished, with glass and glazing specified in Section and installed by this Section; related flashings, anchorage and attachment devices. B. System Assembly: Site assembled. 1.4 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS A. System Design: Design and size components to withstand dead and live loads caused by positive and negative wind pressure acting normal to plane of wall, including building corners. 1. To design pressure indicated on Drawings, as tested in accordance with ASTM ALUMINUM-FRAMED GLAZING SYSTEMS

Deflection: Limit mullion deflection to 1/175 for spans under 13-6 and 1/240 plus 1/4 inch for spans over 13-6, with full recovery of glazing materials. C. System Assembly: Accommodate without damage to components or deterioration of seals, movement within system, movement between system and peripheral construction, dynamic loading and release of loads, deflection of structural support framing. D. Air Infiltration: Limit air leakage through assembly to 0.06 cfm/min/sq ft of wall area, measured at reference differential pressure across assembly of 1.57 psf as measured in accordance with AAMA 501. E. Air and Vapor Seal: Maintain continuous air barrier and vapor retarder throughout assembly, primarily in line with glass. F. Water Leakage: None, when measured in accordance with AAMA 501 with test pressure difference of 20 percent of design pressure, with minimum differential of 2.86 lbf/sq ft and maximum of lbf/sq ft. G. Thermal Transmittance of Assembly (Excluding Entrances): Maximum U Value of 0.69 Btu/sq ft per hour per deg F when measured in accordance with AAMA H. Expansion / Contraction: Provide for expansion and contraction within system components caused by cycling temperature range of 170 degrees F over 12 hour period without causing detrimental effect to system components and anchorage. I. System Internal Drainage: Drain water entering joints, condensation occurring in glazing channels, or migrating moisture occurring within system, to exterior by weep drainage network. 1.5 SUBMITTALS A. Section Submittal Procedures: Submittal procedures. B. Shop Drawings: Indicate system dimensions, framed opening requirements and tolerances, affected related Work and expansion and contraction joint location and details. C. Product Data: Submit component dimensions, describe components within assembly, anchorage and fasteners, glass and infill, door hardware, and internal drainage details. D. Samples: Submit two samples 12 x 12 inches in size illustrating finished aluminum surface. E. Design Data: Indicate framing member structural and physical characteristics and dimensional limitations. F. Manufacturer's Certificate: Certify products meet or exceed specified requirements. 1.6 QUALITY ASSURANCE A. Perform Work in accordance with AAMA SFM-1 and AAMA MCWM-1 - Metal Curtain Wall, Window, Store Front and Entrance - Guide Specifications Manual. 1.7 QUALIFICATIONS A. Manufacturer and Installer: Company specializing in manufacturing aluminum glazing systems with minimum three years experience. 1.8 PRE-INSTALLATION MEETINGS A. Section Product Requirements: Product storage and handling requirements. B. Handle Products of this section in accordance with AAMA MCWM-1 - Curtain Wall Manual #10. C. Protect finished aluminum surfaces with wrapping. Do not use adhesive papers or sprayed coatings which bond when exposed to sunlight or weather ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS A. Section Product Requirements. B. Do not install sealants or glazing materials when ambient temperature is less than 40 degrees F during and 48 hours after installation WARRANTY A. Section Execution and Closeout Requirements: Product warranties and product bonds. B. Special Assembly Warranty: Manufacturer's standard form in which manufacturer agrees to repair or replace components of aluminum-framed systems that do not comply with requirements or that deteriorate as defined in this Section within specified warranty period. 1. Failures include, but are not limited to, the following: a. Structural failures including, but not limited to, excessive deflection. b. Noise or vibration caused by thermal movements. c. Deterioration of metals and other materials beyond normal weathering. d. Adhesive or cohesive sealant failures. e. Water leakage through fixed glazing and framing areas. f. Failure of operating components to function properly. 2. Warranty Period: Two years from date of Substantial Completion. C. Special Finish Warranty: Manufacturer's standard form in which manufacturer agrees to repair or replace components on which finishes fail within specified warranty period. Sheet Steel: ASTM A653/A653M; galvanized to minimum G90. D. Steel Sections: ASTM A36/A36M; shaped to suit mullion sections, galvanized. E. Glass: Specified in Section F. Glazing Materials: Storefront manufacturer s standard types to suit application and to achieve weather, moisture, and air infiltration requirements. G. Flashings: Minimum inch thick aluminum to match mullion sections where exposed. H. Hardware: In accordance with Section and as follows: 1. Weather Stripping: Manufacturer's standard replaceable components. a. AAMA 701, made of wool, polypropylene, or nylon woven pile with nylonfabric or aluminum-strip backing. I. Flashings: Minimum inch thick aluminum to match mullion sections where exposed. J. Sealant and Backing Materials: 1. Sealant Used Within System (Not Used for Glazing): Manufacturer s standard materials to achieve weather, moisture, and air infiltration requirements. 2. Perimeter Sealant: Specified in Section K. Brackets and Reinforcements: Manufacturer's standard high-strength aluminum brackets and reinforcements. Provide non-staining, nonferrous shims for aligning system components. L. Fasteners: Manufacturer s standard stainless steel, compatible with adjacent materials. M. Bituminous Paint: Cold-applied asphalt-mastic paint complying with SSPC-Paint 12 requirements except containing no asbestos, formulated for 30-mil thickness per coat. ALUMINUM-FRAMED GLAZING SYSTEMS

Fabricate components with minimum clearances and shim spacing around perimeter of assembly, yet enabling installation and dynamic movement of perimeter seal. B. Fabricate sill pans with sealed end dams at jambs and changes in sill height. C. Fabricate frames for glazing from inside. D. Accurately fit and secure joints and corners. Make joints flush, hairline, and weatherproof. E. Prepare components to receive anchor devices. Fabricate anchors. F. Arrange fasteners and attachments to conceal from view. G. Prepare components with internal reinforcement for door hardware. 1. At exterior door frames, provide weatherstripping at fixed stops. 2. At interior door frames, provide weatherstripping or silencers at stops to prevent door-to-frame contact. H. Reinforce framing members for imposed loads. 2.4 SHOP FINISHING A. Clear Anodized Aluminum Surfaces: AAMA 611, AA-M12C22A41 non-specular as fabricated mechanical finish, medium matte chemical finish, and Architectural Class I 0.7 mils clear anodized coating. B. Concealed Steel Items: Galvanized to ASTM A123/A123M; minimum 1.2 oz/sq ft coating thickness; galvanize after fabrication. C. Apply bituminous paint to concealed aluminum surfaces in contact with cementitious materials or dissimilar metals. D. Touch-Up Primer for Galvanized Steel Surfaces: SSPC Paint 20 zinc rich. E. Extent of Finish: 1. Apply factory coating to surfaces exposed at completed assemblies. 2. Apply touch-up materials recommended by coating manufacturer for field application to cut ends and minor damage to factory applied finish. PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.1 EXAMINATION A. Section Administrative Requirements: Coordination and project conditions. B. Verify dimensions, tolerances, and method of attachment with other Work. C. Verify wall openings and adjoining air and vapor seal materials are ready to receive Work of this Section. 3.2 INSTALLATION A. Install wall system in accordance with AAMA MCWM-1 - Metal Curtain Wall, Window, Store Front and Entrance - Guide Specifications Manual. B. Attach to structure to permit sufficient adjustment to accommodate construction tolerances and other irregularities. C. Install sill pans. Turn up ends and edges; seal to adjacent Work to form water tight dam. F. Coordinate attachment and seal of perimeter air and vapor retarder materials. G. Pack fibrous insulation in shim spaces at perimeter of assembly to maintain continuity of thermal barrier. H. Install integral flashings and integral joint sealers. I. Set thresholds in sealant and secure. J. Install hardware using templates provided. Refer to Section for installation requirements. K. Coordinate installation of glass and opaque panels with Section ; separate panels from metal surfaces. L. Coordinate installation of perimeter sealants with Section ERECTION TOLERANCES A. Section Quality Requirements: Tolerances. B. Maximum Variation from Plumb: 0.06 inches every 3 ft non-cumulative or 1/16 inches per 10 ft, whichever is less. C. Maximum Misalignment of Two Adjoining Members Abutting in Plane: 1/32 inch. 3.4 ADJUSTING A. Section Execution and Closeout Requirements: Testing, adjusting and balancing. B. Adjust operating hardware and sash for smooth operation. 3.5 CLEANING A. Section Execution and Closeout Requirements: Final cleaning. B. Remove protective material from pre-finished aluminum surfaces. C. Wash down surfaces with solution of mild detergent in warm water, applied with soft, clean wiping cloths. Take care to remove dirt from corners. Wipe surfaces clean. D. Remove excess sealant by method acceptable to sealant manufacturer. 3.6 PROTECTION OF INSTALLED CONSTRUCTION A. GANA - Laminated Glass Design Guide. 1.3 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS A. Glass Thickness: Glass thickness designations indicated are minimums and are for detailing only. Confirm glass thicknesses by analyzing Project loads and in-service conditions. Provide glass lites in the thickness designations indicated for various size openings, but not less than thicknesses conforming to ASTM E1300 and in strengths (annealed or heat treated) required to meet or exceed the following criteria: 1. Wind Loads: As indicated, but not less than wind loads required by ASCE 7 "Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures": Section 6.0 "Wind Loads." 2. Probability of Breakage for Vertical Glazing: 8 lites per 1000 for lites set vertically GLAZING

Maximum Lateral Deflection: For exterior glass supported on all 4 edges, provide thickness required that limits center deflection at design wind pressure to 1/50 times the short side length or 1 inch, whichever is less. 4. Minimum Glass Thickness for Exterior Lites: Not less than 1/4 inch per each pane of 1 insulated glazing panel. B. Thermal Movements: Provide glazing that allows for noiseless thermal movements resulting from the following maximum change (range) in ambient and surface temperatures acting on glass framing members and glazing components. 1. Temperature Change (Range): 120 deg F, ambient; 180 deg F, material surfaces. C. Thermal and Solar Optical Performance: Measured or calculated in accordance with the following: 1. Glass: Provide structural, physical, and thermal and solar optical performance characteristics, size limitations, and special handling or installation requirements. 2. Glazing Sealants, Compounds and Accessories: Provide chemical, functional, and environmental characteristics, limitations, special application requirements. Identify available colors where exposed. C. Samples: 1. Glass: Submit two samples 12x12 inch in size, of each type and color of glass specified, including spandrel glass. 2. Glazing Materials: Submit 12 inch long bead of glazing sealant for each color other than black. D. Manufacturer's Certificate: Certify sealed insulating glass and low-e coated glass meet or exceed specified requirements. E. Installer's Certificate: Certify glass furnished without identification label is installed in accordance with Construction Documents and applicable code. 1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE A. Perform Work in accordance with GANA Glazing Manual for glazing installation methods. B. Safety Glazing Products: Comply with testing requirements in 16 CFR Obtain safety glazing products permanently marked with certification label of the Safety Glazing Certification Council or another certification agency or manufacturer acceptable to authorities having jurisdiction. 2. Where glazing units are specified for lites more than 9 sq. ft. in exposed surface area, and lites of any size in certain hazardous locations such as sliding glass doors, doors and enclosures for bathtubs, showers, hot tubs, whirlpools, saunas, and steam rooms, provide glazing products that comply with Category II materials; for lites 9 sq. ft. or less in exposed surface area, provide glazing products that comply with Category I or II materials. 1.6 QUALIFICATIONS A. Convene minimum one week before starting Work of this section. 1.8 ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS A. Section Product Requirements. B. Do not install liquid glazing sealants when ambient and substrate temperature conditions are outside limits permitted by glazing sealant manufacturer or below 40 deg F. C. Do not proceed with glazing operations when glazing channel substrates are wet from rain, frost, condensation, or other causes. 1.9 COORDINATION A. Section Administrative Requirements: Coordination and project conditions WARRANTY A. Section Execution and Closeout Requirements: Product warranties and product bonds. B. Extended Warranties: 1. Furnish 4-year warranty to include coverage for laminated glass units from deterioration or failure, and replacement of same. 2. Furnish 5-year warranty to include coverage for coated glass units from coating deterioration or failure, and replacement of same. 3. Furnish 10-year warranty to include coverage for sealed glass units from seal failure, interpane dusting or misting, and replacement of same. PART 2 - PRODUCTS 2.1 MATERIALS A. Manufacturers: 1. PPG Industries Model 2. No substitution. ADD. #1 B. Storefront Door and Window Glazing: 1. Insulating Glass Panels: ASTM E2190 certified by Insulating Glass Certification Council; with aluminum and silicone edge seal; 1-inch thick, black edge seal; purge interpane space with dry hermetic air. a. Outer Pane: 1/4 thick PPG Solar Gray tinted tempered glass with low-e coating applied to number 2 surface. b. Inner Pane: Clear tempered glass. c. U-Factor Winter: 0.29 d. U-Factor Summer: 0.27 e. Meet requirements of ASTM C thick insulated panels, black edge seal; purge interpane space with dry hermetic air. 3. Inside and outside glazing faces of ¼ clear tempered glass. 4. Provide opaque ceramic coating on No. 2 surface. Color to match adjacent glazing tint. D. Press Box Glazing: 1. Low-E Impact-Resistant Insulating Glass: Insulating glass fabricated as follows: a. Outer Pane: 1/2 thick clear laminated glass, composed of (2) layers of 1/4 thick PPG Starphire non-tempered high-clarity glass laminated with SGP.03 safety glazing interlayer. b. Inner Pane: 1/4 thick pane of clear tempered glass, with Solarban 70XL Low-E coating on number 5 surface. c. Glazing Panel Construction: ASTM E2190 certified by Insulating Glass Certification Council; with aluminum and silicone edge seal; 1-5/16 thick, black edge seal; purge interpane space with dry hermetic air. 2. Joint Type: Frameless open-gapped sloped vertical joints filled with silicone sealant. Continuous head and sill frames provided under Section GLAZING ACCESSORIES A. Gaskets: Part of aluminum framing system. B. DESCRIPTION SUMMARY OF WORK 1.1 Except as otherwise expressly provided herein, Asbestos Abatement Contractor (Contractor) shall supply all labor, supervision, materials, equipment, tools, storage and any and all items necessary for the supply, fabrication, erection, construction, disposal (including handling, transportation, loading, unloading and receiving) of the abatement of asbestos-containing or asbestos-contaminated materials designated as the Work. Require that all phases of the Work be executed by skilled craftsmen trained and experienced in their respective trades. 1.2 Contractor may subcontract any phase or portion of the Work. However, such subcontract shall not relieve Contractor from enforcing the use of all required safety equipment and supplies by the subcontractor and his employees providing any phase of the Work in contaminated areas. Contractor shall require and verify that all materials and methods used by subcontractors are consistent with materials and methods for established and safe asbestos removal procedures and consistent with the Specification. 2. STORAGE 4.1 Existing conditions are reflected correctly to the best of Consultant's knowledge. Should minor conditions be encountered which are not exactly as indicated, modification to new work shall be made as required at no additional expense to Building Owner. 4.2 Certain materials in the work area were tested at the Building Owner's request. Copies of these reports are available at the office of the Building Owner or Ownerʼs representative. These reports are specifically excluded from the Specifications. 5.1 Contractor shall supply any additional temporary storage (outdoor containers) required for storage of equipment and materials for duration of Project. Contractor is responsible for security of storage. 6. WORKING HOURS 6.1 Contractor shall submit his work schedule to the Construction Manager and Building Owner for approval. Asbestos removal operations may be performed 24 hours per day, seven days per week, including holidays. 6.2 The Contractor may be asked to stop work if abatement activities are disruptive in any way to the Ownerʼs use of the building or neighboring facilities. 7. BUILDING SECURITY 7.1 Contractor shall maintain personnel on the site at all times when portions of the work areas are open or not properly secured. Contractor shall secure work areas completely at the end of each working day. Contractor shall be responsible for any unauthorized entrance of a secured work area during non-working hours. 7.2 Contractor shall provide notification of working hours to owner. Notification shall be made upon any changes to schedule. 8. SEGREGATION OF WORK AREAS 8.1 The Contractor will be required to erect barrier tape as appropriate to segregate work area from non-affected areas. Area bounded by tape is considered the regulated area. 9. SAFETY ORIENTATION 9.1 Safety orientation shall be presented by each individual contractor to their employees relative to the tasks at hand. OBSERVATION 10.1 Consultant will observe the status and progress of the Work for completeness and general compliance with the requirements of the Specifications. At a minimum, the observations will be conducted at the following times during the Project: Following complete preparation of the work area(s), during removal of asbestos- containing materials, and following final cleaning of the work area(s) prior to final air testing Contractor shall notify Consultant at least 24 hours in advance of the need and readiness for such observations. Should advance notice not be given to the Consultant, Consultant will make reasonable effort to comply with time of requested observations. Contractor may not proceed until such observations by Consultant are made. Any delay in the completion of the Project caused by lack of advance notice by Contractor to Consultant shall not be sufficient cause for any extension of time or extension of the Project completion deadline. Also, compensation for time spent by Consultant on the Project resulting from prearranged meetings at which the Work has not progressed to the designated point shall be the responsibility of the Contractor and will be deducted from future payments due to Contractor Contractor shall notify Construction Manager and Owner immediately when regulatory inspection personnel arrive on site. This includes visits by Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) field inspectors. 11. SIGN IN/OUT LOG 11.1 Contractor shall maintain a sign-in/out log in the immediate vicinity of the change room of the personnel decontamination enclosure. Maintain sign-in/out log from the time the first activity is performed involving preparation for the disturbance of asbestoscontaining material until acceptance of the final air test results by the Consultant Require all persons entering the work area, including the Contractor's workers, Consultant or Consultant's representatives, Building Owner or agents of the Building Owner, Construction Managerʼs representatives and Building Owner officials to sign in and out each time upon entering and leaving the work area. Indicate name, time, company or agency represented and reason for entering work area. 12. SUPERVISOR/WORKER TRAINING AND LICENSE DOCUMENTATION 12.1 Provide documentation to Construction Manager, Owner, and Consultant that all supervision and workers to be used on the Project have successfully participated in an extensive training program which instructed personnel on proper respirator use, hazards of asbestos exposure and OSHA Asbestos Regulations. Also provide documentation that all supervisors and workers are licensed asbestos abatement supervisors and workers by the DSHS. Provide such documentation on supervisors with Contractors bid. Provide such documentation on workers on site. No worker HAZARDOUS MATERIAL REMEDIATION

UTILITIES 13.1 Contractor may temporarily connect to existing permanent utilities during execution of the Project if utilities are accessible. Make connections in locations designated by Construction Manager and Building Owner. Remove connections and all extensions of utilities at Project completion. Removal or relocation of utilities may be required before the completion of the job. The cost of utilities consumed will be paid by the Construction Manager or Building Owner. If utilities are not provided, the Contractor is responsible for providing utilities needed to perform work in accordance with state and federal regulatory agencies. 14. SALVAGEABLE MATERIALS 14.1 Consider all materials and items demolished or removed in execution of the Work unsalvageable unless specifically noted otherwise in the Specifications or by Owner. No materials shall be salvaged by Asbestos Abatement Contractor employees or others. 15. CLEAN-UP 15.1 Leave all areas visibly clean at the end of each work day and at completion of Work. 16. FINAL COMPLETION 16.1 Final Completion will be determined as follows: The Consultant will, within a reasonable time period inspect the Work to determine status of final completion when the Contractor certifies to the Consultant that: 1) The Work has been completed in compliance with the Specifications; 2) The Contractor has inspected the Work for such compliance; and 3) The Work is ready for inspection The Consultant will promptly notify the Contractor if he determines that the Work is incomplete or defective, and give the reasons therefore Contractor shall, upon receipt of notice from Consultant that the Work is not complete, promptly remedy the deficiencies noted by Consultant and notify the Consultant when the Work is ready for re-inspection. Consultant will then within a reasonable time period, re-inspect the Work Contractor shall, upon determination of final completion by Construction Manager and Building Owner and Consultant submit a final Certification and Application for Payment. SCOPE: The work covered by this section includes furnishing all plans, labor, equipment, materials, and transportation necessary for the proper and safe removal, handling, and disposal of non-friable materials. 1.1 Remove asbestos-containing materials to include the following: Approximately 700 square feet of asbestos containing residual floor mastic under carpet, 15 square feet of floor tile and mastic and 2800 square feet of wallboard with joint compound. 2. TERMINOLOGY 2.1 Abatement - procedures to decrease or eliminate fiber release from precast, spray-on, trowel-applied asbestos-containing building materials. Includes encapsulation, enclosure, and removal. 2.2 Air Monitoring - the process of measuring the fiber content of a specific volume of air during a stated period of time. 2.3 Airlock - system for permitting ingress or egress of personnel without permitting air movement between a contaminated area and an uncontaminated area, typically consisting of two curtained doorways at least three feet apart. 2.4 Amended Water - water to which a surfactant has been added. 2.5 Asbestos - a general term used to describe several fibrous mineral silicates. Although there are many asbestos minerals, only six are of commercial importance. They are: Actinolite, Amosite, Anthophyllite, Chrysotile, Crocidolite, and Tremolite. For the purposes of this Project the term "asbestos" is used interchangeable with "asbestos- containing sprayed material", "dust containing asbestos", and "friable insulating material containing asbestos". 2.6 Asbestos Control Area - an area where asbestos removal operations area performed and which is sealed and isolated by physical barriers to prevent the spread of asbestos contamination. 2.7 ANSI - American National Standards Institute. 2.8 ASTM - American Society for Testing and Materials. 2.9 Clean Room - an uncontaminated area or room which is part of the worker decontamination enclosure system, with provisions for storage of workers' street clothes and protective equipment. Also known as the "Change Room" Critical Barrier - seal applied to openings connecting the abatement area with adjacent spaces that will not be included in the containment. Critical barriers shall not be exposed to the gross critical barriers include, but are not limited to: HVAC vents and diffusers ; doorways ; windows ; floor, wall, and ceiling penetrations; and air plenums Curtained Doorway - a device to allow ingress or egress from one room to another while HAZARDOUS MATERIAL REMEDIATION

An equipment decontamination system always contains at least three airlocks (rooms) Encapsulation - the sealing of asbestos surfaces involving application of a material (encapsulant) that will envelop or coat the fiber matrix and eliminate fiber fallout and protect against contact damage Enclosure - procedures necessary to completely enclose material containing asbestos behind airtight, impermeable, permanent barriers EPA - United States Environmental Protection Agency Equipment Decontamination Enclosure System - a decontamination enclosure system for materials and equipment, typically consisting of a washroom, an airlock, and a holding area Equipment Room - a contaminated area or room which is part of the worker decontamination enclosure system, with provisions for storage of contaminated clothing and equipment Fixed Object (Immovable Object) - a unit of equipment or furniture in the work area which cannot be removed from the work area CIH - Certified Industrial Hygienist 2.20 HEPA - High Efficiency Particulate Absolute (HEPA) filter capable of trapping and retaining 99.97% of asbestos fibers greater than 0.3 microns in length HEPA - High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filtered vacuuming equipment with a UL 586 filter system capable of collecting and retaining asbestos fibers Holding Area - a chamber between the washroom and uncontaminated area in the equipment decontamination enclosure system. The holding area comprises an airlock Movable Object - a unit of equipment or furniture in the work area can be removed from the work area NESHAPS - National Emissions Standard for Hazardous Air Pollutants N.E.C. - National Electrical Code NIOSH - National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health OSHA - Occupational Safety and Health Administration. The washroom comprises an airlock Work Area - area or areas of project which undergo abatement or are contaminated Worker Decontamination Enclosure System - a decontamination enclosure system for workers, typically consisting of a clean room, and airlock, a shower room, an airlock, and an equipment room. 3.
