3 AQUARIUS TM Ballast Water Systems Meets every standard proposed by the IMO Ballast Water Convention and is suitable for retrofit as well as new build installations. Hamworthy s range of AQUARIUS TM ballast water systems incorporate a two stage approach to effectively manage your ballast water treatment. The first stage involves filtration which is followed by a second stage treatment achieved through a choice of either Ultra Violet (AQUARIUS TM - UV) or Electro-Chlorination (AQUARIUS TM - EC). The choice of ballast water treatment will be made after discussion with the owner giving due consideration to the specific ship management and installation requirements. Hamworthy has designed the AQUARIUS TM ballast water systems to operate in the demanding conditions faced onboard ship. The product design and material selection follows standard marine practice to achieve safe, robust and reliable solutions for both new build and retrofit applications. Land and shipboard testing is underway to provide the necessary IMO Type Approvals. The AQUARIUS TM ballast water systems are PLC controlled with user friendly touch screen operation. All relevant data is stored by the PLC in accordance with IMO requirements and the system can be fully integrated into the main control system to achieve complete ballast water management onboard the ship. 3
