17 1.3 QUALITY ASSURANCE A. Manufacturer Qualifications: All primary products specified in this section will be supplied by a single manufacturer with a minimum of ten (10) years experience. B. Installer Qualifications: All products listed in this section are to be installed by a single installer with a minimum of five (5) years demonstrated experience in installing products of the same type and scope as specified. C. Window units must be tested to comply with ANSI/AAMA/NWWDA101/I.S.2/A D. Egress: Where required by code, install windows with the following properties: 1. Sill height must not exceed 44 inches (1118mm) above the floor. 2. Minimum net clear opening must be 5.7 square feet (0.53 sm) with the exception of grade level windows may have a minimum clear opening of 5 square feet (0.47 sm). 3. Minimum net clear opening height must be 24 inches (610mm). 4. Minimum net clear opening width must be at least 20 inches (509mm). E. Code Compliance: All windows must comply with the requirements of the code bodies having jurisdiction over the project. F. 18 PART 3 EXECUTION 1.1 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING A. Store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging until ready for installation. B. All windows and doors are to be stored sill down in an upright position and not on sides or head. No more than 8 patio doors and 12 windows are to be stored in a stack and keep out of direct sunlight. C. Store and dispose of hazardous materials, and materials contaminated by hazardous materials, in accordance with requirements of local authorities having jurisdiction. 1.2 EXAMINATION A. Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared. B. If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding. 1.3 PREPARATION A. Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation. B. Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions. 1.4 INSTALLATION A. Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. 1.5 PROTECTION A. Protect installed products until completion of project. B. Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion. 1.6 WARRANTY A.
