This product dries to produce a non-yellowing, durable, clear film on concrete. Cure & Seal 1315 J22WB is ideal for interior applications because it is free of noxious fumes and it is non-flammable. This anti-spalling sealer has a light amber color. PURPOSE: Day-Chem Anti-Spall protects new and old concrete surfaces from progressive deterioration caused by freeze/thaw cycles and deicing salts. It is specially formulated to resist the penetration of water and deicing salts. Anti-Spall is especially effective for providing maximum first-winter protection on newly placed concrete and is also effective for protecting older concrete surfaces. It is an ideal product for use on bridge decks, bridge superstructures, highways, parking garages, and concrete barrier rails, loading areas, runways, and many exterior concrete surfaces. ADVANTAGES: Prolongs the life of concrete Resists freeze/thaw cycles and deicing salts Creates an effective barrier against the elements of weather Applies easily by spray, roller or broom Dries quickly Provides protection for new and old concrete surfaces MEETS SPECIFICATIONS: Meets AASHTO M233-86, standard specification for: Boiled Linseed Oil Mixture for Treatment of Portland Cement Concrete. (AASHOM-126 and M-128 have been discontinued). Boiled linseed oil meets ASTM Specification D-260 and Federal Specification TT-L-190-d. Mineral Spirits meets ASTM Specification D-235 and Federal Specification TT- L-291 -c. Formulations will conform to most state specifications for anti-spalling compounds. APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: Surfaces should be clean of all dirt, oil, grease, curing compounds and other substances that would prevent proper penetration of the material. Prior to application, the surface should be thoroughly dry. Wait a minimum of 24 hours for a damp surface to dry out. New concrete should be cured for a minimum of 14 days before application of the antispalling sealer (28 days is preferred). Application can be by tank sprayer, broom, roller or the use of spray bars for the larger jobs. Two coats are recommended. DO NOT OVER APPLY. ANY EXCESS OR PUDDLES OF MATERIAL MUST BE REMOVED WITH RAGS OR PAINT ROLLER. Do not apply in temperatures below 40 F (4 C). For maximum protection, apply Day-Chem Anti-Spall onto the concrete surface before it is exposed to deicing salts. Protect the spray from accidentally hitting nearby cars, buildings, grass and shrubs. APPROXIMATE COVERAGE: Two coats are recommended. Apply the first coat at 350 sq. ft. per gal. (8.6 m 2 /L) When the first coat is dry to the touch, apply the second coat at 600 sq. ft. per gal. (14.7 m 2 /L). When the second coat is totally dry, the surface is ready for traffic. Texture and absorption of surface will influence final coverage rates. DRYING TIME: Approximately 3-5 hours at 70 F( 21 C) At colder temperatures, the drying will take longer, up to 24 hours. PACKAGING: 5 gal. (18.9L) pails and 55 gal. (208L) drums. CLEANUP: Tools and equipment: use mineral spirits, naphtha or xylol. LIMITATIONS: Product will turn the concrete to a dark amber color. Do not over apply the product because a slippery surface may result. Use less material on a dense or smooth troweled concrete surface. Do not apply in temperatures below 40 F (4 C). Day-Chem Rez Cure (J-11-W) is formulated to provide an effective curing membrane that will begin to dissipate after exposure to sunlight, weathering and/or traffic. Do not use high speed mixing equipment. Apply immediately after all surface water has disappeared and the surface cannot be marred. Use low pressure spray, roller, or brush. Do not thin. Apply uniformly without puddling. DO NOT delay in applying the curing compound! For vertical applications, apply two light coats. Apply the second coat while the first coat is still wet. During vertical spray applications, use a fine spray tip and apply even coats avoiding run-downs or streaks. Day-Chem Rez-Cure (J-11-W) will normally oxidize and begin to wear off within days after application. Depending on traffic, sunlight and weathering, additional cleaning may be necessary to completely remove the film, particularly in areas of heavy application, or in vertical applications. MIXING Stir thoroughly prior to use. Do not thin. APPROXIMATE COVERAGE RATES 200 ft 2 per gal.(4.9 m 2 /L) DRY TIME Approximately 2 hrs. at 70 F. If skin contact occurs, wash immediately with soap and water and seek medical help as needed If eye contact occurs, flush immediately with clean water and seek medical help as needed Dispose of waste material in accordance with federal, state and local requirements WARRANTY Dayton Superior Corporation ( Dayton ) warrants for 12 months from the date of manufacture or for the duration of the published product shelf life, whichever is less, that at the time of shipment by Dayton, the product is free of manufacturing defects and conforms to Dayton s product properties in force on the date of acceptance by Dayton of the order. Dayton shall only be liable under this warranty if the product has been applied, used, and stored in accordance with Dayton s instructions, especially surface preparation and installation, in force on the date of acceptance by Dayton of the order. The purchaser must examine the product when received and promptly notify Dayton in writing of any non-conformity before the product is used and no later than 30 days after such non-conformity is first discovered. If Dayton, in its sole discretion, determines that the product breached the above warranty, it will, in its sole discretion, replace the non-conforming product, refund the purchase price or issue a credit in the amount of the purchase price. This is the sole and exclusive remedy for breach of this warranty. Only a Dayton officer is authorized to modify this warranty. The information in this data sheet supersedes all other sales information received by the customer during the sales process. THE FOREGOING WARRANTY SHALL BE EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ANY OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND ALL OTHER WARRANTIES OTHERWISE ARISING BY OPERATION OF LAW, COURSE OF DEALING, CUSTOM, TRADE OR OTHERWISE. Dayton shall not be liable in contract or in tort (including, without limitation, negligence, strict liability or otherwise) for loss of sales, revenues or profits; cost of capital or funds; business interruption or cost of downtime, loss of use, damage to or loss of use of other property (real or personal); failure to realize expected savings; frustration of economic or business expectations; claims by third parties (other than for bodily injury), or economic losses of any kind; or for any special, incidental, indirect, consequential, punitive or exemplary damages arising in any way out of the performance of, or failure to perform, its obligations under any contract for sale of product, even if Dayton could foresee or has been advised of the possibility of such damages. The Parties expressly agree that these limitations on damages are allocations of risk constituting, in part, the consideration for this contract, and also that such limitations shall survive the determination of any court of competent jurisdiction that any remedy provided in these terms or available at law fails of its essential purpose. 10/06/11 Page 2 of Visit for the most up to date technical information
