3 Rannila Steel Steel Oy was founded in 1961, and was purchased by RautaruukM Oy in Rannila specialises in the production and marketing of sheet steel products for the building and construction industry. Rannila has a very wide customer base with production plants in Vimpeli, Alajarvi and Kaarina, Finland; and subsidiaries in Estonia, Poland, Russia and U.K. Quality control and environmental matters have been close our hearts long before there were any certifies given for these. Our quality control systems meet the requirements of DNV ISO In addition to taking care of the environmental aspects of our own production, we also work closely with consumers and dealers in the recycling of steel materials. Exports account for approximately 50 % of our turnover, but Rannila has also set up production companies in some of the key market places abroad. 4 Materials and Coatings Plastisol Plastisol is suitable for both interior and exterior use. Its corrosion resistance is excellent and the weather resistance is good. Plastisol coated sheets are easy to form and handle. The most common applications of Plastisol are seamed and profiled roofing,, flashings, interior walls, shelving etc. Rlannila Steel Oy uses Finnish Steel, from our parent company, Rautaruukki, as the raw material for its profiled sheets. Rautaruukki's wide selection of surface coatings offers the best solution for both interior and the more demanding exterior projects. Our technical support team will be pleased to help you choose the most suitable alternatives. Coating Primer Passivation layer Zinc layer Steel sheet Zinc layer Passivation layer Primer Protective paint coat PVDP PVDF is especially recommended for demanding outdoor applications. This coating has a good resistance to corrosion and an excellent resistance to fading. Typical applications are demanding and roofing, prefabricated construction units, etc. PVDF is recommended when colour fastness and resistance to dirt are of the utmost importance. Matt Polyester Matt polyester has good weather and corrosion resistance. It has a non glossy matt finish. Typical applications of matt polyester are roofing tile sheets which are ideal for new build and renovation of residential and light industrial buildings. It is not suitable for seaming. Polyester Polyester coating is suitable for internal applications. The advantages of polyester are good mechanical properties, such as hardness, scratch resistance and good formability. It is specified for the underside of structural deck profiles and the inner face of composite panels where these are exposed to the inside of a building. It can also be used in undemanding situations externally. Pural Pural has good weather resistance properties even in extreme climatic conditions and provides excellent resistance to corrosion. Pural has a good resistance to ultraviolet radiation and fading, and is easy to keep clean. Pural-coated sheets have excellent formability and handling properties. Pural is suitable for projects where a tough durable coating is required. Pural is at its best when used for roofing and wall cladding. 10 \J Load-bearing Deck Profiles JU oad-bearing profiles can be used in' both insulated and uninsulated roof constructions and as form work for floor constructions. Our range of load-bearing profiles is very wide and it covers spans from S to 9 m. For short spans all profiles can be used. The choice of the profile in each case is most often decided by economy - i.e., the lighter the sheet that will bear the load, the more economical it is. In dimensioning the sheets correctly you can use the dimensioning manual, or, in more difficult situations, our technical department with computer programs is at your service. 14 Rannila Panel Lannila Panels are light-weight composite panels made from two skins of coated, galvanised steel with a core of dense mineral wool insulation. The panels are non-combustible and are designed to span between main steel column externally or from floor to ceiling when used for internal partition walls. 16 Rannila Geo Profiles he Rannila Geo Profile is a product made from hot dip galvanised steel for civil engineering constructions. Geo Profile evens out and eliminates the stresses from the surrounding soil. Pour different models guarantee wide range of applications. Piping gratings Geo A90, B90 and C90 are intended for support underneath piping structures of various kinds. The Geo 45, on the other hand, is a foundations reinforcement profile used in road building.
