If you are building more than one property please be aware that the plot numbers must be numerical, run consecutively, and correspond with the drawings provided. 2.2 If you are building in an undeveloped area you may not have a postcode. If you have a nearby postcode please provide this. 2.3 If you have a 12 digit Ordnance Survey reference point then please include this. 2.5 For new premises we require the full planning reference number and the 2.6 date when planning was granted. For existing premises please provide this information only if applicable. 2.7 We require confirmation of the local authority area where your site is located in all cases. 2.8 If this is an existing build please state what this was previously used for i.e; Offices, Housing, Industrial/Commercial 2.9 If there are any land contamination issues relating to your site, please confirm how your site has been cleared of contamination, or provide the necessary third party assessment that confirms the choice of pipe material and/or measures taken to protect the public water supply Existing supply refers to a supply on site of previous use. This does not include any temporary site connections you have previously applied for. Connection Details Please note that we offer a connection only service you are responsible for all other work including provision of all materials; excavation; pipe laying and reinstatement. You are also responsible for obtaining any necessary road opening permits and traffic management from the local authority. 3.2 Please tick the boxes that apply. If you are looking for a new supply to an existing premise please include a brief summary under 3.3 to give us a full understanding of your needs i.e. transferring from a private to public water supply etc. If you are constructing flats three stories or above you should make provision for pumps and 24 hour storage in order to ensure each property has adequate pressure. Please note student accomodation will require a metered connection. Please provide meter requirements in section 3.4 under other. A temporary water supply can be used for site accommodation, sales cabin, temporary caravan, etc. If you intend to utilise this as a permanent connection for a property please tick yes. 3.3 Please provide any further connection information not captured above that you feel may assist in your application: 04

Connection Size You are responsible for making the necessary assessments and for the sizing of your connections. As a guideline for small, single domestic supplies, a service pipe of 25mm diameter is usually sufficient. If a service pipe is greater than 32mm please note this is classed as a non standard connection and as such your application will rquire the following additional information: A Soil Investigation report Fire Authority Approval Letter Detailed drawing showing valve arrangements Material Type The most commonly used pipe material for single properties is Medium-density polyethylene (MDPE). If however there are contaminated land issues copper or barrier pipe may be a suitable alternative material 3.5 Please provide information if you have been requested by building control or the fire authority to install any fire hydrants and confirm details of any flow requirements stipulated. 3.6 If you propose to include a Sprinkler System at your development, you will need to submit the following: Internal schematics Manufacturing specifications Please ensure any fixtures and fittings used within the proposed sprinkler system conform to the appropriate byelaws. 3.8 If a connection to the public sewer has still to be applied for please complete a Sewer Connection (SC1)application form. 05

Charges We will issue you with a quote based on our current Scheme of Charges which is available on our website The quote will be made up of the following charges: Fee Connection charge Infrastructure charge per property Building Water charge per property Upon your acceptance of the quote we will issue an invoice. Payment should not be made until an invoice has been issued. Charges Your quote will be based on the following charges. fee This fee relates to the administration work and technical assessment involved in processing this application. Connection charge This is applicable per connection and incorporates the fee for an inspection and the physical cost of a connection. Infrastructure charge This is applicable on a per property basis. All new properties connecting to our water mains increase the flow demand within the water network. In order to fund upgrades of the public water network, any new connections to the public water main are required to pay an infrastructure charge. Building water You will pay a flat rate charge for the water used in the building of ALL new properties, whether part of a development or a single property. The actual charge will depend on the type of house you are building i.e. Terraced/Semi detached/ Detached/Flat. If this application is for a temporary supply the charges for building water and infrastructure will be charged when you apply for the permenant connections.
