The fasteners are alternatives to cast-in-place anchors described in IBC Section 908 (009 and 006 IBC Section 9 and 9; 00 IBC Sections 9 and 9) for placement in concrete; the embedded anchors described in Section..4 of TMS 40/ACI 50/ASCE 5 (which is referenced in IBC Section 07); and the welds and bolts used to attach materials to steel described in IBC Sections 04. and 04., respectively. The fasteners may also be used where an engineered design is submitted in accordance with IRC Section R DESCRIPTION. Trak-It Fasteners: The fasteners are manufactured from steel complying with ASTM A50, Grade 060 to 065, austempered to a Rockwell C5-55. The fasteners are collated into plastic strips of ten fasteners each, and are available in various lengths. Fasteners with a / 4 -inch (9. mm) length have a 0.0- inch (.6 mm) diameter and a black oxide finish. Fasteners with -, / 4 -, and / -inch (5.4,.7 and 8 mm) lengths have a 0.0-inch (.6 mm) diameter and are zinc-plated. Fasteners with a / -inch (.7 mm) length are zinc-plated and have a stepped shank with diameters of 0.0 and 0.0 inch (.6 and mm). Product names for the report holder and additional listees are presented in Table 6 of this report.. Normal-weight Concrete: Normal-weight concrete must be of stone-aggregate and comply with Chapter 9 of the IBC or Section R40. of the IRC, as applicable. The concrete compressive strength at the time of fastener installation is noted in Table.. Lightweight Concrete: Lightweight concrete must be sand-lightweight and must comply with Chapter 9 of the IBC. The concrete compressive strength at the time of fastener installation is noted in Table. Mortar must comply with ASTM C70 Type M or S mortar, in accordance with IBC Section 0.9 and IRC Section R607, as applicable..5 Steel Deck Panels: Steel deck panel properties must be as described in the footnotes of Table and Table 4 and Figure of this report..6 Steel Substrates: Structural steel must comply with the requirements of ASTM A6 or A57, Grade 50, as shown in Tables 4 and DESIGN AND INSTALLATION 4. Design: 4.. General: The allowable tension (pullout) and shear service loads for the fasteners installed in accordance with this report are listed in Tables through 5. The stress increases and load reductions described in IBC Section 605. are not allowed for wind loads acting alone or when combined with other loads. No stress increase or applied load reduction is allowed for vertical loads acting alone. Allowable loads for anchors subjected to combined tension and shear forces are determined by the following equation: where: p (p/p a ) + (v/v a ) = Actual tension load, lbf (N). P a = Allowable tension load, lbf (N). v = Actual shear load, lbf (N). V a = Allowable shear load, lbf (N). 4.. Seismic Considerations: 4... Use with Structural Components: Resistance to seismic loads is outside the scope of this report. Therefore, the suitability of the fasteners for use with structural components that are subjected to seismic loads is outside the scope of this report Use with Nonstructural Components: Seismic load resistance is outside the scope of this report, except when use is with architectural, mechanical and electrical components described in Section..4 of ASCE 7, and as follows: Concrete base materials: The fasteners installed in concrete may be used to support acoustical tile or lay-in panel suspended ceiling systems, distributed systems and distribution systems where the service load on any individual fastener does not exceed the lesser of 90 lbf (400 N) or the published allowable load in Tables and, as applicable. Steel base materials: The fasteners and assemblies installed in steel may be used where the service load on any individual fastener does not exceed the lesser of 50 lbf ( N) or the published allowable load shown in Tables 4 and 5, as applicable. For interior, nonstructural walls that are not subject to sustained tension loads and are not a bracing application, the fasteners may be used to attach steel track to concrete or steel in all Seismic Design Categories. In Seismic Design Categories D, E, and F, the allowable shear load due to transverse pressure must be no more than 90 pounds (400 N) when attaching to concrete; or 50 pounds (, N) when attaching to steel. Substantiating calculations must be submitted addressing the fastener-to-base-material capacity and the fastener-to-attached-material capacity. Interior nonstructural walls are limited to locations where bearing walls, shear walls or braced walls are not required by the approved plans. The design load on the fastener must not exceed the allowable load established in this report for the concrete or steel base material. 4. Installation: The fasteners are installed with a power-actuated fastening tool in accordance with Powers recommendations. Fastener embedment, spacing, edge distance, and basematerial requirements are shown in Tables through 5. Installation is limited to dry, interior environments. For installation in concrete and CMUs, the fasteners must not be driven until the base materials have reached the tabulated compressive strength. 4. Connections of Drywall Tracks to Foundation: Attachment of cold-formed steel tracks to the perimeter of concrete is allowed under the following conditions:. No cold joint exists between the slab and the foundation below the track.. No track is installed on slabs supported by masonry foundation walls. 5.0 CONDITIONS OF USE The Trak-It fasteners and the Max Concrete Pins described in this report comply with, or are suitable alternatives to what is specified in, those codes listed in Section.0 of this report, subject to the following conditions: 5. The fasteners must be identified and installed in accordance with this report and the manufacturer s instructions. In the event of a conflict between the instructions in this report and the manufacturer s instructions, this report governs. 5. Allowable tension and shear values must comply with Section 4.. of this report. Calculations demonstrating that the applied loads are less than the allowable loads described in this report must be submitted to the code official for approval. The calculations must be prepared by a registered design professional where required by the statutes of the jurisdiction in which the project is constructed. 5. Fasteners must be installed in concrete with a thickness of three times the fastener penetration. 5.4 Allowable tension and shear values are as noted in Section 4... The stress increases described in Section of the IBC are not allowed for wind loads acting alone or when combined with gravity loads. No increase is allowed for vertical loads acting alone. 5.5 The use of fasteners is limited to installation in uncracked concrete or masonry. Cracking occurs when f t > f r due to service loads or deformations. 5.6 The use of the fasteners in this report is limited to installation in dry, interior environments. 5.7 See Section 4.. for seismic considerations.

Packages bear one of the company names set forth in Table 6, the fastener shank type, length and diameter, and the evaluation report number (ESR- 06). Applicable code editions: 00 Florida Building Code Building 00 Florida Building Code Residential.0 CONCLUSIONS The Powers Trak-It fasteners, described in Sections.0 through 7.0 of the master evaluation report ESR-06, comply with the 00 Florida Building Code Building and the 00 Florida Building Code Residential, provided the design and installation are in accordance with the 0 International Building Code (IBC) provisions noted in the master report and the following conditions apply:. Design wind loads must be based on Section 609 of the 00 Florida Building Code Building or Section 0... of the 00 Florida Building Code Residential, as applicable.. Load combinations must be in accordance with Section 605. or Section 605. of the 00 Florida Building Code Building, as applicable..
