3 1.00 EXCAVATION AND EARTH WORK 1.01 The Contractors are requested to refer Bills of Quantities, General s, Pricing Preambles, Drawings, Specifications, Conditions of Contract, Special, Conditions of contracts and other relevant documents prior to pricing of this section of work.documents prior to pricing of this section of work The Contractors are requested to check ground water level, limitation of transport, limitation of site, conditions of the existing road for possibility of transportation of heavy equipment etc., prior to pricing this section of work The contractor shall arrange and obtain necessary permission from authorities for disposal and dumping of earth Contractor shall provide due protection to avoid any damages to temporary work, any new or old structures during excavation Surface treatment shall be measured only for floor area covered by building. Rate shall include for all the other surfaces like bottom of excavation, vertical and sloping sides of cuttings, etc Earth work supporting system and dewatering measured separately. Excavation Excavation for Column footings from reduced ground level except rock requiring blasting. 6 3.00 MASONRY WORK 3.01 The Contractors are requested to refer Bills of Quantities, General s, Pricing Preambles, Drawings, Specifications, Conditions of Contract, Special, Conditions of contracts and other relevant documents prior to pricing of this section of work.documents prior to pricing of this section of work Rate for masonry works shall include for plumbing angles, forming rebates, square cutting and racking of joints for plastering Any cost due to rejection of poor quality bricks to be borne by the contractor. 7 4.00 ASPHALT WORK 4.01 The Contractors are requested to refer Bills of Quantities, General s, Pricing Preambles, Drawings, Specifications, Conditions of Contract, Special, Conditions of contracts and other relevant documents prior to pricing of this section of work.documents prior to pricing of this section of work The finish of the concrete slab shall be acceptable to the Consultants prior to carrying out the water proofing system Rate shall include for (a.) Clean with wire brush where necessary the concrete surface and remove dust, etc,. Prepare the concrete surface to receive the treatment The Tenderer shall refer the followings prior to pricing the items in this trade. a. All relevant drawings b. Specifications c. Location of the site d. Access to the site e. Type of water proofing suit to the nature of location and surface. f. Tender and Contract conditions 4.05 Contractor shall submit ten years guarantee for water proofing material and workmanship through his specialist sub contractor in the name of the Employer in an acceptable format Damp Proof Course 18 mm thick in cement sand 1:2 mix finished with application of two coats of hot tar blinded with sand gauge polythene below the ground floor slab. Internal drainage (up to the nearest first manhole) 9.04 The Contractor shall provide all dimensions, and technical information, of all builders work to the Consultant in accordance with the programme of work Rate shall include for insurance during handling, rehandling, transport, storage, delivery to the point of installation and until handing over The tenderer shall submit the following information's on the items/equipments/ fittings quoted for together with the tender. 1 Make 2. 19 Sewer Disposal System Sewer disposal system has been measured up to the nearest first manhole. All work beyond the first manhole has been measured under drainage and storm water disposal trade Rates for pipes shall include for all pipe fittings such as bends, tees, reducers, connectors cleaning point, etc., and inspection openings as necessary for total completion of the work All sewer pipes shall be in the appropriate type as in the specification with moulded fittings Rates for pipes shall include for fixing arrangements with clips and/or pipe supports in hot dipped galvanised finish and with necessary fixing accessories. The tenderer shall submit his proposal for pipe supports/fixing system as per specification to the approval of the Consultant Rates for all underground pipes shall include for all excavation, laid to gradient filling with selected materials and encasing the pipes with concrete as required. Sewer Manhols mm x 600mm sewer manholes with "p" trap including excavation backfilling, 4" thick grade 25 reinforced concrete (1:1 1/2:3 (3/4")) in base slab and wall with necessary reinforcement and form work with cement, sand 1:3 smooth rendering / Bituminous application at invert level (on base concrete) to maintain the water flow. And complete with RCC. manhole cover including forming benching hunching to complete with all connections to working order. 20 11.00 ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION The Contractors are requested to refer Bills of Quantities, General s, Pricing Preambles, Drawings, Specifications, Conditions of Contract, Special, Conditions of contracts and other relevant documents prior to pricing of this section of work.documents prior to pricing of this section of work All electrical fittings shall be of best quality approved fittings. All switches, socket outlets etc., shall be Clipsal, ABB or equivalent. All MCCB, MCB, RCCB, etc., shall be approved European/ Japanese makes Rates shall include for: (a) Supply, installing, testing and commissioning of the system for power and lighting. All complete to working order and to the entire satisfaction of the Consultant and the relevant Authorities. (b) Cutting, trimming, dressing, connection cables, cutting holes and chases holes in brick work, concrete and connecting cable with all accessories such as sockets connectors, conduit cable trays, cable glands and boxes hardware clips fixing, soldering and jointing materials. (c) Rate shall include for necessary trenching, conduits, all necessary materials, cables, fittings and clips, cutting holes and chases in brick work and concrete work complete with all accessories such as sockets, connections, cable glands and boxes hardware clips, soldering and jointing materials etc., for proper installing and laying of cables All materials, equipment wiring and workmanship shall confirm to local codes and specification, B.S.standards/latest I.E.E. regulations and Ceylon Electricity Board Specifications Rate for external lighting system shall include all materials suitable for external purpose as per specifications All cables ACL or equivalent Supplying of electricity for the building shall be in three phase line As specified in the drawing & specification. Item , , Point Wiring Rates for point wiring shall include for all cables, switches(1 way or 2 way as necessary) junction boxes, conduits, pull boxes, clips, earth cables, draw wires, wiring accessories, screws, nails, hardware, fixing and insulating materials, cutting holes, chases, make good the same in all trades, holders, ceiling boxes, flexible codes and any other wiring accessories require up to the final fixing point where ever necessary and complete with a holder and bulb All switches for lamp points to be Clipsal or equivalent make in acceptable range suitable for luxury interior. All socket outlets shall be Clipsal or equivalent make with a indicating bulb. All junction boxes shall be injection moulded type. All conduits shall be in reputed manufacture having SLS acceptable to the Consultant All lamp point wiring shall be in 1 mm2 Cu/PVC/PVC cable and 1mm 2 protective earth in PVC conduits including all accessories All ceiling fans points wiring to be also completed with fan hooks excluding fan and regulator.(fan and the regulator has been measured under lamp fittings) The contractor shall carry out the mega test and any other tests with a temporary switch and bulb with a holder at ceiling fan points and other similar items wherever necessary The contractor shall forward the conduit layout for prior approval of the Consultant.
