2 District Long Term School Funding Program Revenue Sources & Estimated Funding Amounts On November 12, 2013, the Moreno Valley Unified School District (MVUSD) adopted a comprehensive Facility Master Plan (FMP). The FMP includes a comprehensive evaluation of existing facilities, District demographic data, facilities financing and funding analysis, recommendations, and an implementation plan. The development of the District s Facility Master Plan identified current facility conditions, future needs, and put in place a plan for constructing ti and repairing ii facilities, along with identifying i the meansto fund those projects. The FMP describes various projects that include reconstruction, modernization, site acquisition, alterations, portable classroom buildings, site work, upgrade athletic fields, and/or new construction projects. The (MVUSD) has been making every effort to augment its Measure M G.O. Bonds with additional funding from a variety State School Facility grant funding programs as well as local initiatives. 3 2014 General Obligation Bonds Measure M Overview On November 4, 2014, the voters of the MORENO VALLEY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT (the District ) authorized Measure M under the Proposition 39 statutes. Measure M authorized the issuance of $398 million in General Obligation Bonds (the Bonds ). The proceeds of the Bonds are intended to be used for construction, rehabilitation, equipping of school facilities, lease of real property for school facilities, class size reduction, information technology needs, and District Wide basic health and safety upgrades such as heating, plumbing, air conditioning, upgrade of campus security, upgrade of instructional technology and other District wide basic health and safety upgrades as needed Measure M G.O. 4 Edgemont Elementary School Reconstruction Project Description This project involves the demolition of 22 permanent buildings, library, administration and multipurpose building. Twelve portable classrooms will be relocated to various sites. The new construction of Edgemont Elementary School will include a new permanent 2 story building with 28 classrooms, administration facility, and a new library/media center. A separate multipurpose building will be constructed and will include a platform for student use. The multipurpose building will also include the kitchen and serving area. The project is currently under design development. Construction completion is estimated to be January of Project Timelines: Architect: Ruhnau Ruhnau DSA Status: Pending Approval Construction Start Date: October 2016 Expected Completion Date: August 2018 Project Status This project was submitted to DSA in October of 2015 and is currently under DSA review. A Mitigated Negative Declaration is currently circulating and is expected to be adopted at the December 8, 2015, Board meeting. A public information meeting is scheduled for November 19 th at 6 pm at the Edgemont Elementary School Multi Purpose Room. 3

7 Armada Elementary School New 2 Story Classroom Building Description This project involves replacement of 12 portable classrooms with a new 2 Story (12 classroom) permanent building. The project will also include a new staff parking lot and parent drop off area, 4 relocated portable classroom buildings and improving existing visitor/bus drop off area. Building square footage is approximately 18,705 SF (1st floor 9,310 SF + 2nd floor 9,395 SF). Project Timelines: Architect: Go Architects DSA Status: Approved Construction Start Date: November 2015 Expected Completion Date: June 2016 Project Status This project received DSA approval and was bid in October. A public information meeting regarding the project was held on Thursday, November12, 2015 for all community members. Construction is currently underway. 6

9 New High School No. 5 Phase I Description Phase I includes the initial development of 1,500 student capacity high school including the construction of classrooms, science labs, computer labs, a multipurpose room/library and athletic fields. The construction of Phase II and phase III are contingent on receipt of future State grants or other local funding sources.
