About Ark Coatings? Exclusive US Representative for Kolmer Industries, a European manufacturer of patented coatings and pigmentation for over 75 years. Focus on highly effective, innovative, and Ecologically conscious coatings.

Revolutionary, insulating (Thermal, Hydro, Acoustic) coating produced via a patented & proprietary process consisting of raw cork (96%) and a proprietary water-based acrylic resin. Developed after 5 years R & D and has been used successfully for over 15 years

Suber Characteristics Suber by Kolmer is a highly durable coating which complements the inherent natural characteristics of cork. Mechanically resistance Elastic & Flexible Mold resistant Total absence of toxins Negative Carbon Footprint Lightweight Liquid impermeable Naturally fire-retardant Durability

Extreme Thermal Conductivity -256 F 32 F 68 F 329 F 32 F 46 F 55 F 86 F Suber naturally repels outside temperatures, dissipating the heat or cold, and maintains a reduced median temperature.

Eliminate Thermal Bridging By maintaining a median external temperature, wall sweating caused by dew points and condensation (THERMAL BRIDGING) is eliminated Absorbs, filters and evaporates humidity, without deteriorating of substrate materials. Condensation due to Thermal Bridging in walls Condensation due to pressure differences Permits Water Vapor Transmission COMMON CAUSES OF HUMIDITY & CONDENSATION IN CONSTRUCTION Rain infiltrations Aggressive climatic agents Encourages a natural process of curing by increasing the filtration and evaporation of the humidity in the wall. Resists Salinity Capillary humidity from the subsoil Soil Direct infiltrations from the subsoil

Appearance In its fluid state, Suber has the appearance of a dense paste. Once applied, it transforms into a durable textured coating, having an excellent adherence to most clean surfaces, yet maintains it s elasticity at extreme temperatures.

Improved Aesthetics Consistent Surface Appearance & Deters Cracking (27% Elasticity) Allows repaired sections to maintain consistent appearance Natural deterrent to mold, mildew, insects & nests Traditional Stucco Suber

Cost Benefits Reduce labor costs by unifying applications Naturally curing quality reduces necessity to remove corrupt materials Ease of Maintenance & Proven 15 year + Life-span Environmentally consciousness and easy disposal Provides energy savings (avg. + 24%) due to thermal dynamic insulation impact Fire-Retardancy, possibly lowering insurance costs Eco characteristic contributes to Green and LEED contribution benefits Higher grade of aesthetic appeal raises property desirability and price! Standard Stucco & Paint Suber on same wall

Application Adheres to almost any type of clean & stable substance Apply using hopper or textured sprayer (preferred), palette knife and trowel. Dry-up time varies between 8 and 48 hours, depending on the type of surface, environmental temperature, and on the applied thickness. Dual layer application- 1st a thin adherence layer followed with a 2nd finishing layer until you reach a thickness of mm (1/8"). Applied Suber may be covered with mortar or plaster, sand or cement, or can be simply painted. Can also be applied in a finished colored by incorporating pigmentation in either the fabrication or application phase.

Adhesion Testing ASTM D-3359 Adhesion tests were attempted, but the nature of the Subertres film disallowed any adherence of the Permacel tape used in this type of test---- my reaction to this is "FANTASTIC" - NOTHING WANTS TO ATTACH ITSELF TO THIS FILM, WHICH INDICATES ITS UNIQUE NATURAL RESISTANCE PROPERTIES TO THE ELEMENTS!!! Additional adhesion tests were also conducted on Plexiglass, Ceramic tiles, dry wall material, wood, PVC tubing, galvanized, and copper metal. Walter Poff, P.E. W. B. By turning your thermostat back 10 to 15 for 8 hours, you can save 5% to 15% a year on your hea2ng bill - - a savings of as much as 1% for each degree if the setback period is eight hours long.
