1 Drip Irrigation Installation Service In partnership with Buchanan s Native Plants, Dan Hogan can design, install and maintain your drip irrigation system. We use the reliable DIG irrigation products sold at Buchanan s. Installation fees are primarily determined by the length of poly tubing used plus the number of water emitters. Installation fees are primarily determined by the length of poly tubing used plus the number of water emitters. For example, to install 100 of ½ poly tubing above ground, including 50 of ¼ tubing, 15 water emitters plus a hose end timer, the installation cost would be approximately $250. When we add the DIG products, your total cost will be approximately $375.

Review DIG s Drip Irrigation Guide This guide is free at Buchanan s Review the Getting Started plus the Planning and Designing Your System section 2. Design your system Sketch your property layout with dimensions Draw your proposed drip system that includes your estimate of poly tubing length and number of emitters Take pictures of the hose bib that will be used and other important landscape features that will impact installation 3. Submit your design to Buchanan s your design or turn it in at the garden center 4. A written Drip Irrigation Installation Estimate will be ed to you within 24 hours

3 P a g e 3 Designing, Scheduling and Payment Information 1. Designing your system In-store consultation at Buchanan s: Make an appointment. Bring your property layout and dimensions as well as your design ideas. The first 15 minutes are free. Afterwards, the consultation fee is $35 per half hour. In-home consultation: Make an appointment. your property layout and dimensions as well as your design ideas prior to the appointment. The in-home consultation fee is $65 per hour. A trip charge may apply but that will be determined when you make the appointment. 2. Scheduling & Installing When you approve the estimate, we will schedule an installation day and time. Installations typically are completed in one day or less. We recommend you observe as much of the installation as possible to learn how your system works. And please, ask as many questions as you like. The installer will train you how to use your new system. He will also discuss the spare parts and tools you ll need to maintain your system. 3. This is usually an above ground and basic installation. Typically, we lay all poly tubing above ground. If it is necessary to bury the poly tubing, there will be an extra charge which will be spelled out in the estimate. This is a basic installation which means we usually install the essential poly tubing and water emitters. As you use your system, it will be very easy for you to move, add or even delete emitters. 4. Payment, Guarantees, Cancelation Payment: o Payment for DIG products and installation services are made to Buchanan s Native Plants. o A 20% deposit is taken when you approve the estimate. The reminder is due upon installation. Credit cards or checks are accepted by the installer. We will install DIG products purchased from Buchanan s. Guarantee: We offer an unconditional guarantee on all labor for a period of 180 days. As for DIG materials, the manufacture s guarantee prevails. Should a DIG product fail, we will work with you to repair your system and get it properly working as soon as possible. Cancelation: if you need to cancel or reschedule, inform us by 10 AM the day prior. If you do not cancel or reschedule by that time, a $75 fee will apply.

4 P a g e 4 What are drip irrigation installation rates? Rates depend on the scope of your project. We can accomplish your project on an hourly or a flat fee basis. If the work can be completed in one day, the hourly rate would likely be best. For more than a day of work, the flat fee would likely be best. We always give you a written estimate that you will approve before any work begins. There is no cost for a written estimate. The following are calculated in project estimates. Hourly Rates Trip Charge Hourly rate $65 per man hour Rates are for Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Rates outside regular hours are $85 per hour; Sunday Rates are $120 per hour. Rates are calculated and rounded up in 30 minute increments. For example, if an installer starts work at 8am and finishes at 10:45am, billable time will be rounded up to 11am for a total of 3 hours. $20 - for installations inside the Houston 610 loop for each trip $55 - for installations outside the 610 loop for each trip Change Orders A change order can happen when a) the customer changes their mind and wants something different or b) when the installer runs into an unexpected problem. In either case, the installer and the customer will discuss and agree on a) the new scope of work and b) any additional cost to the project before the work recommences. Job Site Preparation & Completion To save money, we encourage our customers to do as much as they can to prepare the job site. This saves time for the installer and money for you.

5 P a g e 5 What happens if the installer damages our property? We will take responsibility. For most of our projects, we take pictures of the area to be worked. If something is damaged, the pictures will tell the story. Our pledge will be to repair or make restitution to your satisfaction. What do I want customers know about me, Dan Hogan? For thirty-five years, I was a corporate team building facilitator. I am a certified master facilitator. I m conscientious and customer focused. I have recently retired. I have been my family s handyman for a long time. I also gained valuable handyman experience, over fifteen years, by volunteering to repair low income people s homes through Houston s Rebuilding Together organization. As for my drip irrigation experience, I have used DIG irrigation products in my homes for 15 years. I ve installed and maintain these systems. I assure you, DIG is a reliable product.
