1 Thermo 74 Windows, French doors, and Terrace doors with low U-values Thermo 74 sections are insulated with 30 mm glass fibre reinforced polyamide strips. By inserting additional insulation in the form of an insulating bar of cellular plastic between the thermal break, the insulation will improve the U-value by 0.3 W/m 2 K over the section. Places with high humidity, such as kitchens, bathrooms and swimming pools are best suited for a low U-value system. The location of the window in a wall is very important for high surface temperatures of the sections. The window should always be placed in the warmest part of a wall in order to eliminate thermal bridges. The temperature distribution over window sections is calculated theoretically with the use of FRAME4 software. -15 C +20 C I-9

2 Thermo 74 Windows, French doors, Terrace doors, inward opening SFB 1074 Our new architectural system Thermo 74 is innovative in its design. We have made a great effort to obtain an energy effective system. The future requirements regarding the economical use of energy and environment protection are going to dominate in the construction sector. With Thermo 74 system we get a low U- value and high air tightness in all products. The first striking feature of Thermo 74 is the symmetric design of the system. A thermal break made of glass fibre reinforced polyamide is placed in the middle and it is surrounded on both sides by sections with symmetric chambers and grooves. Thermo 74 has a low U-value of the section including the glass. Double or triple glazing units, as well as 54 mm infil panels which correspond to a U-value of 0.8 W/m 2 K, can be installed in the rebate. Windows, French doors and terrace doors SFB 1074 fulfil the requirements up to highest class as regards air and water tightness, as well as wind load resistances according to National building regulations. Windows can be anodised or powder coated with various colours and type of surface finish on the inside and on the outside. Surface finish: see chapter J. I-10
