BAI 22A/2016/DJ PART I TENDER PROCEDURES SECTION 1 INTRODUCTION This Introduction should be read in conjunction with Tender Appendix A [Scope of Services / Specifications] set out in Part II, Section 2 of the Tender Documents.

3 Introduction of Batang Ai Hydro Power Station INTRODUCTION have power output of 108MW and generate an average of 420GWh per annum. Starting operation in 1985, the Station consists of main dam, three saddle dams, a power plant of four 27MW vertical Francis Turbines and generators and a double circuit 275kV transmission line from Batang Ai to Kuching, It was officially declared open by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohammad. The Station, which enables the Sarawak Energy Berhad to diversify its energy base by shifting from fuel oil to Hydro, constitutesabout one third of Sarawak Energy Berhad total installed capacity in (SESCO Ref. 4 SCOPE OF SERVICES / SPECIFICATIONS The Services to be provided by the Service Provider include the following: 1. This tender is for the upgrading of toilet at L1 floor of Batang Ai Power Station, which also includes the dismantling, repair, renovation, construction and installation works. 2. Tenderer is to supply material, tools, labours, transportation and machineries for the upgrading work of toilet at Batang Ai Power Station. 3. The dismantling work covers the following scope; a. Site clearing shall inclusive of removal and extraction of floor tiling, toilet cubicle, toilet bowl, ceiling, urinal, lighting, sewage injector system (L2) and other related auxiliaries b. Disposal of construction waste (as in item 3a) together with its auxiliaries away from Power Station. 4. The repair work covers the following scope; a. Renovation work shall inclusive of repairing of piping system, drainage system and electrical wiring b. Supply of material for any replacement of the repairing of piping system, drainage system and electrical wiring c. Site clearing and site cleaning after completion work 5. The installation works covers the following scope; a. Supply and construction of brick wall toilet (3 rooms) and shower (3 rooms) together with supply and installation of wooden door and water tap. i. Discharged from shower and toilet room is to sewage tank allocated at L2 Floor. ii. Discharged from L2 sewage tank is to be injected to main Power Station sewage discharged point. (approx. 12m elevation from L2 to ground floor) b. Supply and installation of floor tiling (non slippery type, size 2ft x 2ft), i. Toilet and shower floor level shall be at least 5cm lower than the main floor area. ii. Urinal floor level shall be at least 2 cm lower than the main floor area. (SESCO Ref. No. BAI 22A/2016/DJ) 2

5 iii. Finished tile MUST feel uniformly solid and rigid under pressure. Finished tile MUST not shift or squeak when walked upon. Finished tile must be properly secured and shall be no sign of crack or nonuniform gap. c. Supply and construction of flat wash hand sink with together with the supply and installation of water tap and mirror d. Supply, construction and installation of ceiling with waterproof gypsum complete with lighting. e. Supply and installation of urinal bowl with privacy wall and toilet bowl (type: close coupled) to all toilet room f. Supply, construction and installation of new sewage injector, i. Together with the servicing schedule rates g. Supply and installation of 4 ventilation fans h. Supply and installation of electrical wiring to all lighting, ventilation wall and power point i. Supply and installation of 20 staff lockers (type: metal double storey). 6. Tenderer is to provide sample of paint color, tiles, toilet bowl, urine bowl, water tap, shower tap, mirrors, sink cabinet, doors & frame to the Project Officer and gain approval before the product being install at site. 7. The construction works shall inclusive of site clearing of the building upon completion of work. Any damages to the sites and related components must be repaired without any delay. 8. The building together with all products installed to be fully functional and operating before handing over. The building shall inclusive of 12 month workmanship warranty. 9. Any workmanship defects found will be informed in writing by SEB and the repair work must be carried out by the Contractor within 30 day after being informed 1. The Tenderer is at liberty to propose any further details in addition to those stated in the scope of work that he may deem derivable and in the event of his so doing, must print or type such details and annex the added matter to the tender submitted by him/her. Such proposals and details shall not be binding upon Syarikat SESCO Berhad unless they are approved by Syarikat SESCO Berhad and incorporated in the Contract. (SESCO Ref. No. BAI 22A/2016/DJ) 3

6 2. Tenderer is STRONGLY advised to visit the site and familiarize with the construction works before tendering to ascertain local conditions under which the works are to be executed and thus the tender price must include all incidental and contingent expenses. No claim will be entertained on grounds of lack of knowledge of the site conditions or any difficulty that may arise in respect with the entirety of works specified. The Tenderers shall attach the CERTIFICATION OF SITE VISIT BY TENDERER, together with the TABLE 1 SCHEDULE OF TENDER PRICES in their tender submission. 3. The Contractor shall be fully responsible to ensure his/her workers comply and carrying out the whole works in line with the company rules and regulations, Environment, Occupational Safety and Health policies as well as any by-laws as amended from time to time, guidelines and requirements made by any public, statutory and government agencies relevant to the Environment, Occupational Safety and Health aspects of the site and other related issues thereto. The contractor shall keep the employer and/or his representatives indemnify from any breach of the Act, regulations, bylaws, guidelines and requirements throughout the execution of the works. 4. Syarikat SESCO Berhad workers from site if his/her was found not complying with the conditions as set out in this contract and the Contractor shall replace without any additional charges or claims to Syarikat SESCO Berhad. 5. The working hours shall be from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for Monday to Friday. Working beyond the prescribed working hours is not allowed unless instructed by the Syarikat SESCO Berhad. 6. Clause 24.1 Pricing Method Fixed lump sum in accordance with the matters set out in the Pricing Appendix 7.
