AND SPECIALTIES SECTION PLUMBING EQUIPMENT AND SPECIALTIES 1.PART I - GENERAL All plumbing equipment included in this Specification shall be furnished and installed, together with all necessary accessories and parts. All items shall be properly mounted and connected without interference with other trades. 2.PART II - MATERIALS 2.01 FLOOR DRAINS A. Shall be by Wade, Josam, Jr Smith or Zurn VACUUM BREAKER AND AIR BREAK FITTINGS A. Vacuum breakers shown on the Drawings or required in the Specification shall be angle pattern with built-in lift type check valve as manufactured by Bidoro or Watts No. 288A or Sloan V-205A AIR CHAMBERS A.Air chambers AS chambers. Approved Amtrol. SHOWN ON PLANS manufacturers: to be Nibco, factory fabricated Wolverine, Wade or 2.04 CLEANOUTS A.Wall cleanouts shall have stainless steel cover as manufactured by Josam or Wade W8460-R or Zurn Z B.Floor cleanouts shall have satin finish nikaloy top in finished areas, and have satin finish bronze top in unfinished areas as manufactured by Josam or Wade W-8540-S or Zurn. 3.PART III - EXECUTION 3.01 Plumbing equipment shall be installed where indicated on Plans, specified herein or required by the local plumbing code OF 2

AND SPECIALTIES Vacuum breaker shall be provided on all equipment handling domestic water and on all plumbing fixtures subject to back siphonage to prevent backflow as required by the State Health Department and Local Authorities having jurisdiction. (All waste connections shall be installed with approved air break fittings to comply with the above requirements.) Air chambers shall be installed on the hot and cold water lines to each fixture Accessible cleanouts shall be installed where indicated on plans and not more than 50' apart on lines 4" and less; and not more than 100' apart for larger pipe sizes (even if not shown on plans as such). Accessible cleanouts shall also be installed at each change in direction greater than 45 degrees. Accessible cleanouts shall also be provided at or near the foot of each stack. Square cleanouts in the floor shall be parallel to tile pattern Square "covered" floor. drains shall be mounted parallel or perpendicular to building walls. All floor drains in areas with low moisture levels or subject to evaporation shall have integral trap primers. This includes (but is not limited to) Mechanical Rooms, Air Handling Units (built up), Service Corridors, Storage Rooms, etc. Floor drains near lavatories (i.e., within 5'0") shall have J.R. Smith NO water saver trap primer (or equal). End of Section OF 2

3 FULTON H3 DOMESTIC WATER SYSTEM PART 1 -GENERAL SECTION DOMESTIC WATER SYSTEM 1. 01Furnish and install domestic water piping as shown on Plans and indicated herein. 2.PART 2 - MATERIALS 2.01 Domestic water piping inside the building above the building floor and inside the building slab shall be Type "L" hard drawn copper tubing with wrought copper fittings and 95/5 solder Piping for domestic water below the building floor slab shall be Type "K" soft drawn copper tubing, with wrought copper fittings and silver solder. 3.PART 3 - EXECUTION The piping systems shall be installed in accordance with Local Code requirements, and to meet the applicable standards relating to the piping use Below Grade: Install as indicated in other sections of this Specification Above Grade: Run level as high as possible in building structure, install hangers for allowing for expansion and contraction, and anchor where required. Separate hot and cold pipes, 6" minimum. Install 3/4" hose end drain valve at low points. Install gate valve at each plumbing fixture or group of fixtures, and at each point of connection to equipment. Allow access to equipment, for servicing of pumps or equipment without draining system A. All horizontal water lines shall be supported by Fee & Mason Fig. 800 (for insulated) or Fig. 500 (non-insulated), or by B-Line Systems w/83151 (for insulated) or B3170CT (non-insulated) adjustable auto grip type hangers, or equal by ELCEN, F & S, or Grinnell, spaced at distances no greater than that permitted by code, and in no case greater than 10. All piping shall be supported seismically per applicable code. B.All vertical water lines shall be supported by copper plated riser clamps. Clamps shall be Fee & Mason No. 368, ELCEN 339, F & S 41CT, B-Line System B3373CT or Grinnell OF 2

4 FULTON H3 DOMESTIC WATER SYSTEM NO. CT121, spaced at no greater than 10' apart. 3.05A. Plumbing Contracting shall clean and sterilize the potable water systems from the point of connection at the exterior water main throughout the systems. Potable water systems shall be disinfected prior to use as required by local Plumbing Inspector and the Health Inspector. Provide Architect/Engineer with copy of Inspector's reports upon completion of tests and before use of water for potable purposes. B.Flush the entire new system as required. Test the piping system to one hundred twenty five (125) psi pressure for at least two ( 2) hours. Notify Engineer, Owner and authority having control before making test. All leaks shall be remedied GUARANTEE A. The entire system covered under this Section of the Work shall be guaranteed to be free from faulty workmanship and defective materials from one year from the date of project's substantial completion. 5 FULTON H3 SOIL AND WASTE PIPING SECTION SOIL AND WASTE PIPING SYSTEM 1.PART 1 - GENERAL 1.01 Furnish and install soil and waste piping as shown on Plans and indicated herein Excavate and backfill according to other sections of this Specification All Work is to comply with applicable codes. Perform all Work in compliance with applicable requirements of governing authorities having jurisdiction. Pay for all permits and inspection fees required to do this work. At the completion of the Work, furnish a certificate of approval showing that his work has been approved and accepted by the proper inspection authority, and that all applicable fees have been paid for. 2.PART 2 - MATERIALS 2.01 Pipe fittings for various services shall be as specified in the following schedule, except where otherwise indicated or specified. Where the following schedule conflicts with the local code, comply with the code. SERVICE PIPE FITTING Sanitary sewer below Service weight cast No Hub or building floor slab. iron soil pipe. Bell & Spigot Sanitary sewer above Service weight cast No Hub or building floor slab iron soil pipe. Bell & Spigot PVC SHALL BE ALLOWED FOR WASTE/VENT WHERE CODE APPROVED. COPPER SHALL BE ALLOWED FOR VENT PIPING IN LIEU OF CAST IRON 3.PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.01 Piping installation shall conform to good plumbing practices and the code. Piping shall be installed with a slope of at least 1/4" per foot in the direction of the flow for drains, and against gas flow for vents All changes in sizes of lines shall be made with reducing fittings or recessed reducers. All changes in directions shall be made by the appropriate use of 45 degree Y's, half Y's, long sweep 1/4, 1/6, 1/8, or 1/16 bends, except that sanitary tees OF 3

6 FULTON H3 SOIL AND WASTE PIPING may be used on vertical stacks, and short 1/4 bends or elbows may be used in soil and waste lines where the change in direction of flow is from the horizontal to the vertical, and the change in direction of flow is from the horizontal to the vertical, and on the discharge from water closets. Connections between outlets of fittings and soil or waste pipe shall be made with Y branches to TY branches wherever possible. Where it becomes necessary because of space conditions to use radius fittings in any other location, the approval of the Engineer and Plumbing Inspector shall be obtained before they are installed All suspended soil, waste and vent lines shall be supported at the joint with clevis hangers. Hangers shall be Grinnell No. 260, PHD 450, Fee & Mason No. 239, Eleen No. 12, B-Line Systems B3100, or F & S No. 86 at no greater than 5' between hangers Each soil, waste and vent stack running vertically shall have a wrought iron clamp bolted to pipe and resting on solid supports. Clamps shall be Grinnell No. 261, Fee & Mason 241, Eleen No. 39, PHD 550B-Line Systems B3373 or F & S No Each fixture and piece of equipment requiring connection to the drainage system except fixtures with continuous waste, shall be equipped with a trap. Each trap shall be double trapped. Traps installed on hub and spigot pipe shall be cast iron. Traps installed on threaded pipe shall be recessed drainage pattern. This Contractor shall furnish traps on all fixtures requiring traps All main vertical soil and waste stacks shall be installed with provisions for expansion and shall be extended full size to and above the roof line as vents, except where otherwise specifically indicated. Vent pipe shall be run with horizontal piping pitched down to stacks without forming traps in pipes. The stacks shall be extended through roof of building to points not less than 18" above roof. Vents extending through the roof shall be minimum of 10' from any supply fan or fresh-air intake. If necessary the vent shall be offset to meet this requirement. Check location of air intakes on equipment on roof prior to installation of vents Where an end or circuit vent pipe from any fixture or line of fixtures is connected to a vent line serving other fixtures, the connection shall be at least 6' above the flood rim of the highest fixture above the floor on which the fixtures are located OF 3

7 FULTON H3 SOIL AND WASTE PIPING All plumbing tests shall be made in the presence of the local Plumbing Inspector and/or Owner's Representative. Testing procedure shall conform to the regulations and codes of the local agency. All pipework shall be tested for leaks, cracked pipes, and cracked fittings. All openings shall be capped and plugged, the pipe work filled with water, and the installation proven tight before insulation and furring are applied. End of Section OF 3

9 FULTON H3 HEALTHCARE PLUMBING FIXTURES AND TRIM SECTION HEALTHCARE PLUMBING FIXTURES AND TRIM l.part 1 - GENERAL 1.01 All fixtures included in this Specification shall be furnished and installed, together with all necessary hangers, bolts, anchors and brackets. All fixtures shall be properly connected to waste, vent and water lines and shall be installed in an absolutely rigid and substantial manner, without damage to any adjoining work or finish or interference with other trades. Unless otherwise noted, all China shall have white finish The materials furnished and workmanship supplied under this Section of the Specifications shall be guaranteed to be free from mechanical defects or faulty workmanship for a period of one year from the date of acceptance by the Owner. 2.PART 2 - MATERIALS 2.01 SEE SHEET A-501 FOR FIXTURE Manufacturers & Models. SEE SHEETS A-103 & A-501 FOR ALT#l. 3.PART 3 -EXECUTION 3.01 Fixtures shall be set firm and true, connected to all required piping services ready for use. All fixtures shall be thoroughly cleaned and all paper and dirt removed. All fixtures included in this specification shall be furnished and and installed together with all necessary hangers, bolts, anchors and brackets. All fixtures shall be properly connected to drains and supplies and shall be installed in an absolutely rigid and substantial manner, without damage to any adjoining work or finish The pipe shall be free of water hammer. manufactured water hammer arrestors, as Specification at each fixture. 10 FULTON H3 HEALTHCARE PLUMBING FIXTURES AND TRIM In addition to valve locations shown on Plans, valves shall be installed on each main and each branch of the mains, each piece of equipment, fixture or fixture groups. All i terns requiring water supply shall be separately valved. All valves shall be located so as to be easily accessible All faucets shall be furnished and installed with union tailpieces for connection to supplies Where hot, cold and waste piping penetrates nonmasonry chase walls for connections to fixtures, furnish and install backup plates. Backup plates shall span between and shall be firmly attached to the studdings on either side of the fixture. Backup plate shall not be less than 3/4" plywood and shall be attached to the metal stud flange with screws (at least 3 screws on each end). End of Section OF 2
