Porcelain stoneware is a material with excellent technical and aesthetic performance. The slabs are obtained via pressing, then they undergo a vitrification process that means the complete fusion of various raw materials such as sands, quartz, feldspars, kaolin, clays and natural coloring oxides: raw materials that once fired at a temperature higher than 1250 C, lead to the creation of an incredibly hard product, with absorption levels close to zero and with unrivalled mechanical features. The performance and design of Stone Source Pavers, combined with the complete range of trim tiles, allow for the paving of outdoor areas of public and residential venues with the utmost appeal and precious finishes. NOT SUBJECT TO MOLD, EFFLORESCENCE OR TO THE FORMATION OF DARK HALOS ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY (Ecolabel certified) 1

12 LAYING SUGGESTIONS RAISED ONTO FLAT SURFACES RECOMMENDATIONS FOR RAISED LAYING SUGGESTIONS Size 24"x24" - 2 cm thickness For the raised installation of 24"x24" slabs in 2 cm thickness, a maximum raise of the foot plan of 2 cm is recommended. It is possible, however, to install the 24"x24" slabs in 2 cm thickness with a raise greater than 2 cm subject to the adhesive application of a glass fibre net on the back of the tile for raises up to 12", or a galvanised sheet for raises up to 20". In both cases, 4 supports per slab are sufficient. FIXED SUPPORT Sizes 18"x36", 12"x48", 24"x48" - 2 cm thickness The 18"x36", 12"x48", 24"x48" sizes in 2 cm thickness are suitable for installation onto footing, gravel, sand, grass or onto supports at a maximum raised of 2 cm and using 6 supports per slab in order to uniformly distribute the load. For raises ranging from 2 cm the adhesive application of a galvanized steel sheet on the back of the tile is necessary. Size 36"x36" - 2 cm thickness The 36"x36" size in 2 cm thickness is suitable for installation onto footing, gravel, sand, grass. The use of the 36"x36" size in 2 cm thickness is allowed for a maximum raise of 2 cm using 5 supports per slab. At present the only standard available is the EN raised floors, dated August 2001, which, in its PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF APPLICATION, states that the rule is intended for raised access floors for which the main intended use is the internal fitting out of buildings. With regards to the Dynamic Loading - Hard body impact test and similar unusual situations, such as the dropping of a 4.5 kg weight from a height of 24, choose the material based on the intended use, particularly if the installation will involve a structure with a considerable height. Do not use structures higher than 4. The customer/designer must make a careful assessment of the structure, based on the end-use of the material and the technical characteristics of Stone Source Pavers. It is also useful to create a drainage layer using specific draining materials.
