2 Piletech Supplementary Prcedure CM-10/PT SP1 Screw Pile Specificatin 2.0 MATERIALS 2.1 Circular Hllw Sectin The selected CHS shall cmply with API5L Standards and be a minimum grade f 350MPa. Manufacturers and rlling mill certificates shall be made available fr QA recrds. Bth transverse and lngitudinal yield test shall be perfrmed t ensure a minimum f 350MPa. Maximum yield strength in any directin shall be n greater than 500MPa. Elngatin shall be n less than 25% 2.2 Steel Helices 2.3 Cncrete Helix plate shall be manufactured using 350 Grade plate t NZ1365 Structural Steelwrk. Where applicable, in fill cncrete t all piles shall be a minimum f 30 MPa grade prduced in accrdance with NZS Pile te end plugs Pile te end plugs shall be a minimum f Grade 350 MPa steel plate, in accrdance with NZS 1365 Structural Steelwrk. 3.0 PILE DESIGN 3.1 General 3.2 Helices 3.3 Welding Pile design shall cmply with AS and The NZ Building Cde and all Standards mentined abve. The pile design shall take int accunt all lading cnditins, such as but nt limited t, gravity, seismic, tensin, lateral lads and negative skin frictin as prvided fr in NZS 1170 Lading Standard. The helix steel grade, diameter, thickness and pitch shall be calculated and designed t suit the applied lads, lading cnditins and the specific getechnical substrata. The welds t the helices shall be designed as Special Purpse Categry and perfrmed by a Certified AS/NZ2980 welder, in accrdance with NZ [2004] using 480 MPa grade material suitable fr seismic cnditins. 3 Piletech Supplementary Prcedure CM-10/PT SP1 Screw Pile Specificatin 3.4 Pile lengths 3.5 Design Life The design pile lengths shall be crrelated and cnfirmed with respect t the site specific Getechnical Reprt including but nt limited t, liquefactin and strata stability. Design life shall be a minimum f 50 years, in accrdance with the New Zealand Building Cde. Fr unprtected steel, the sacrificial pile crrsin rate shall be in accrdance with Hera Reprt N. 46 Octber Alternative methds f crrsin prtectin that can be cnsidered are galvanising, ht zinc cating r plymer catings, as samples. 3.6 Infill Cncrete Where applicable, the full length f all piles shall be filled with 30 MPa pump mix cncrete t ensure cmplete structural integrity, eliminate internal crrsin, and t prvide cnnectin t the pile cap and super structure. 3.7 Reinfrcement 3.8 Certificatin 3.9 Liability Cnnectin reinfrcement frm pile t pile cap shall be designed in accrdance with NZ 3101 and Eur Cde 4. A Chartered Prfessinal Engineer experienced in the design and installatin f screw piles shall prvide a Design Prducer Statement [PS1] The piling Cntractr/Designer shall carry Prfessinal Indemnity Insurance fr the sum f $1 Millin 4.0 MANUFACTURE 4.1 Welding Helix t CHS welds are t be in accrdance with AS Structural Steel Welding Categry SP Welds - t be perfrmed by an AS/NZ2980 certified welder 4.2 Weld Material Weld material t be 480 MPa grade materials suitable fr seismic cnditins. 4 Piletech Supplementary Prcedure CM-10/PT SP1 Screw Pile Specificatin 4.3 Helices Helices are t be pressed by suitable equipment t ensure a true helix is frmed which meets the fllwing criteria; i. The pitch at the inside and utside f the helix must be equal (+/- 5mm) ii. The gradient f the spiral shuld be cnstant iii. Any radial measurement acrss the helix shuld be perpendicular t the shaft. (+/- 2%) 4.4 Quality Cntrl After the initial quality cntrl prgramme including weld prcedure testing has been satisfied a cntinuus manufacturing prgramme f MPI testing shuld be cnducted at a rate f 1 in 100 piles manufactured. All welds shall be visually inspected. 5.0 LOAD TESTING 5.1 Prcedure Where applicable, Static Lad Testing shall be perfrmed t verify initial design and carried ut in accrdance with AS Sectin 8 Testing and the Schedule f Lad Test Requirements. 5.2 Test Acceptance Pile design accepted in accrdance with AS Sectin Table , with amended settlement criteria as being 10% f pile diameter, cnducted under agreed lading schedule, and cnsultatin with the Structural Engineer. Any criteria specified in the Schedule f Lad Test Requirements shall take precedence ver the values in Table INSTALLATION 6.1 General Pile installatin shall cmply with AS Psitinal Tlerance Psitinal tlerance t be in accrdance with AS : Sectin Tlerances and Defects: Hrizntally ± 75 mm. Verticality 20 mm and within 4% frm the vertical. A referencing system shall be utilised fr each pile t mnitr and determine pile lcatin during installatin and as a final as built recrd. 6.3 On site welded jints All n site welded jints are t be in accrdance with AS , t be perfrmed an AS/NZ 2980 certified welder. Installatin pressures Length f pile 6.5 Cut ff level Date f installatin Pile t be trimmed t nminated cut-ff level in accrdance with AS Cncrete Where applicable, pile CHS shafts shall be cmpletely filled with 30 MPa cncrete, using either line r bm pumps t the tp f the pile. 6.7 Reinfrcing Steel 6.8 Certificatin 7.0 HISTORY Pile t pile cap reinfrcing steel t be in accrdance with AS/NZS 4671:2001 and Eur Cde 4 and placed in the cncrete in accrdance with the specificatins. Piling cntractr shall prvide a Cnstructin Prducer Statement [PS3]. The Chartered Prfessinal Engineer respnsible fr the pile design shall prvide a Cnstructin Peer Review Prducer Statement [PS4].
