The natural colours of daylight are used to give a building atmosphere and character. Translucent synthetic products are supplied for almost any application. From a single-walled polyester corrugated sheet to a daylight construction with multi-walled polycarbonate sheeting. Close-knit project team A close-knit team of staff continuously works on the development, application, manufacture and assembly of synthetic daylight products. They take into account the latest regulations, for example, in the field of insulation values, fire safety and design. Applications with spans of up to an impressive 20 metres using highperformance materials such as polycarbonate, acrylate, PVC or polyester are modified to suit the latest requirements, if required. It is a good idea for clients to engage our project team at an early stage, as this saves a lot of time and also prevents financial setbacks. Van Boven rooflights, daylight constructions, carports, boat shelters and patio roofs The Van Boven rooflights, daylight constructions and carports are manufactured as standard from high-performance acrylate or polycarbonate sheets in combination with aluminium sections. All possible constructions are produced and assembled in close consultation with the architect and/or client. Strict requirements, for example, in the field of impact resistance, insulation or fire safety are no problem at all for us. Freely supported spans of 1 to 9 metres are available as standard in the supply range. Larger spans of up to 20 metres are also among the many possibilities. Van Boven domelights Every Van Boven Plus domelight is fitted with a white enamelled aluminium edging section. Complete with synthetic sealing sections for a water and windproof seal, and a unique anti-burglar and tension-free connection system. Van Boven Standard domelights are made entirely from high-performance acrylate or polycarbonate, and are fitted with a screw connection system. All domelights are also available with various ventilation systems, from simple manually operated to extensive smoke and heat removal systems. Fibreglass-reinforced transparent corrugated and flat polyester sheets Choose from a range of more than 200 different profiles. Manufacture takes place on the ultramodern machines developed by Van Boven itself. The polyester sheets are manufactured to any desired length, provided they can be transported. 2

5 Novacryl: UV-protected Both the single-walled and multi-walled polycarbonate sheets have a UV-protective coating that prevents discolouration and stops weather effects from having an adverse effect on the high impact resistance and light transmission. Aluminium profiles in many variations Van Boven continuous rooflights are supplied as single-walled and double-walled models. The aluminium construction can be supplied clear, anodised and enamelled. As standard the construction is supplied in a clear version. The system is self-supporting and can be mounted on any desired surface or upstand. The standard maximum span is 9 metres and the standard height is approx. 1/5th of the width. Van Boven also has profile systems available for different arch heights, e.g. h=1/8 W, semicircular or quarter-circular shapes, pyramid shapes and dome shapes. Ventilation and fire safety Various ventilation systems can be used in the Novacryl continuous rooflights. From simple manually-controlled ventilation flaps to advanced electrical or pneumatic systems for automatic smoke and heat extraction systems. Thanks to the combination of fire-retardant properties of the sheet materials used and a good ventilation system, the Van Boven continuous rooflights meet the strictest safety requirements. Novacryl in acrylate or polycarbonate Van Boven standard continuous rooflights and daylight elements are supplied with different types of sheeting. The choice of material and the design depends on the application and the requirements of the client. High-performance acrylate sheets (e.g. Plexiglas or Perspex ) or an almost unbreakable polycarbonate (Lexan or Makrolon ) for burglar or vandalism-sensitive locations. Crystal-clear, opal or in colour. Single, double, triple or quadruple-walled. There are many possibilities! Assembly and service In close consultation with the client or architect, Van Boven ensures that each Novacryl light construction exactly meets the strictest quality requirements. Each project, big or small, is closely supervised, from the drawing board to final assembly, by our own specialist assembly teams. As the processing of the synthetic glazing, production of the continuous rooflight and assembly at the building site are all performed under one roof from beginning to end, Van Boven can prepare and realise a tight schedule. 5

9 Natural and mechanical ventilation Light and heat are inseparable. Too much sunlight can result in excessive temperatures. This makes ventilation necessary. Various types of ventilation can be used in Van Boven daylight constructions. Natural ventilation by means of ventilation hatches or grilles, manually operated, electrical or pneumatic. 10 Smoke and heat extraction systems Proper ventilation can create a pleasant indoor temperature, but there is also an important safety aspect. In case of a fire, it is extremely important that heat, smoke and possibly toxic gases are quickly removed. This allows any people present in the building to escape faster and ensures that the fire brigade does not have to spend valuable time creating smoke extraction openings. The seat of the fire can be located and extinguished faster. A ventilation system connected to a system for smoke and heat detection can prevent a lot of unnecessary damage to buildings and materials, and may event prevent loss of life. All of our equipment meets the strictest DIN and VdS standards (the German Verband der Sachversicherer). 11 Choices in synthetic sheeting A wide range of products Based on the requirements set, a choice will be made regarding the synthetic glazing between single or double-walled solid acrylate or polycarbonate and multi-walled (double, triple, quadruple or quintuple-walled) polycarbonate. The acrylate sheets are covered by a 10-year manufacturer's warranty for loss of light transmission, while polycarbonate, both solid and multi-walled, is covered by a 10-year manufacturer's warranty for both light transmission and the unchanged high impact resistance. 13 Carports in standard design or customised Carport concept Based on its experience, Van Boven has developed a carport concept. The concept consists of aluminium profiles developed entirely in-house, which are enamelled as standard in a colour of your choice. The synthetic sheets are available in a solid or hollow-core version. The carport is available in 9 sizes and can be constructed as a stand-alone unit or connected to the house if required. The concept is fully standardised, which means that the profiles have the correct length, the synthetic sheets are cut to size and all the required fastening materials are supplied. You can assemble the carport yourself or have it assembled by our installers if desired. In some situations it may be almost impossible to create a standard carport that meets the requirements. We can therefore also design carports that suit the individual wishes of each client. Thanks to the many possibilities in terms of shape, dimensions and profile colours, you can always design a Van Boven carport that fully suits the architecture of your house. The Van Boven patio roof is available in various standard sizes. This patio roof consists of aluminium sections, as standard enamelled in the colours white (RAL 9010) or anthracite grey (RAL 7016), in combination with polycarbonate hollowcore sheets. For people with DIY experience, it can be easily installed. Depths You can choose between 2 depths: 210 or 310 cm.
