Document Scope for Proposal, under Project Description, delete the first sentence of this section and add the following: Initially, the selected firm will be responsible for assisting the design team with costing and constructability issues for the addition of a new Level 5 on the existing Clifton Street Garage, University of North Texas Health Science Center Campus, Fort Worth, Texas. At the end of the section, add the following: The selected firm will be responsible for constructing the addition in accordance the design, providing the required services as noted herein and in the Construction Manager-at-Risk Agreement. This document is being issued to answer questions that have been submitted as follows: 1) The RFP states that final completion is June The schedule that was handed out at the walk states final completion July 1, 2019 The PowerPoint slides that were distributed state that final completion must be final by June 1, Please clarify the final construction completion date.

2 ANSWER: UNTHSC: June 1, ) Is it known if the existing elevator can be extended an additional floor? ANSWER: UNTHSC: Yes, the elevator can be extended an additional floor. The scope to do this is being determined by the design team. 3) Are the beams galvanized or painted? Or both? ANSWER: JQ: Both options are under review by the design team. JQ understands the lead time involved with galvanizing and will be discussing with the Owner. If there is concern with meeting the schedule with galvanizing, please note that in your submittal. 4) What is the maximum weight allowed on the existing ramps and decks? Will we be required to use jacks to support the lower level floors while under construction? ANSWER: JQ: The existing structure was designed for 50 psf live load. The CMAR and the design team will coordinate constructability once chosen. If the live load above is exceeded shoring will be required. Depending on the size of the members and forklift used the shoring may extend two levels or more. The intent is to impact the garage as little as possible. 5) Is shoring required because of the post tension design? Can 50% of the floor below be shut down for a 2 part pour? Do the pours need to be broke out into small sections? ANSWER: JQ: Shoring may be required. Yes, 50% of the floor below can be shut down. The pours do not need to be broken down into smaller sections. It is anticipated that the entire existing top level will need to be closed off for the duration of the construction of the additional level. UNT will work with the CMAR to help maintain a high level of safety. 6) Will the existing fire sprinkler riser system allow another floor or will additional compressors orl larger FDC pipe be required? ANSWER: JQ: This is being reviewed by the design team. 7) Is Lighting protection Needed?. ANSWER: JQ: This is being reviewed by the design team. Adjacent buildings have lightning protection. Currently consider it a requirement. 8) Are the existing columns poured with structural concrete/psi? Previous projects top floor columns were poured with minimum rebar and lean concrete. What is the connection method

3 used at existing columns, should we anticipate investigative work to attach the existing structure (Demo columns all they way to deck)? The existing parking garage slab appears to be poured over the top of the existing columns, considering this type of construction, is it feasible to use wedge anchors (anchor bolts) to attach the new columns to the existing? ANSWER: JQ: Currently do not anticipate removing the existing columns. Extending up with steel columns is the current plan. The base connection is unknown until forces from anticipated level have been determined. 9) Will the top floor side protection be cast in place wall or crash cables? ANSWER: JQ: Barrier cable is the traffic barrier system assumed. 10) Will precast facade panels be required to match existing levels? if so, this will require painting ANSWER: JQ: Metal panels are being assumed for the façade at this time. Other schemes are being reviewed. Lightweight system is preferred not to overload existing foundations. 11) There was mention of extending the existing elevator to the upper floor of the parking garage, is this necessary? if so, can the existing elevator systems, ie motors) handle the additional level addition, and what type of accommodations will need to be made while the modifications are being made the elevator system. ANSWER: JQ: Code requirements are being reviewed to determine if existing elevator needs to extend up and field coordination if the existing elevator can handle the load. Code requirements are also being reviewed if elevator cab needs to be increased for a gurney. Minimal impact to the existing elevator is preferred. 12) Will the parking structure need to be utilized on the weekend for events? ANSWER: JQ: Schedules will have to be coordinated with UNTHSC. 13) None of the existing parking structure has a traffic coating, will the new slab require any part to have a traffic coating? ANSWER: JQ: Traffic coatings may be included as an alternate. 14) Will the new slab be cast in place or will it also be post tension? ANSWER: JQ: Concrete slab over composite deck and post-tensioned cast-in-place options are being reviewed 15) Has there been a study performed to see if a standard I beam can be used in lieu of castellated beams?

4 ANSWER: JQ: We are reviewing the following (4) four options. Cost, appearance, schedule, etc. will help determine which option to proceed with: - Castellated Beam with composite deck and concrete slab - Conventional steel with composite deck and concrete slab - Castellated Beam with post tensioned cast in place concrete slab - Conventional steel with post tensioned cast in place concrete slab 16) Will the owner provide traffic plans during the course of construction for parking deck users? ANSWER: JQ: No. 17) Will the stairs also be extended up to the 4th deck of the parking garage? if so, will this require a roof structure over the stairs? ANSWER: JQ: All stairs will be extended to the fourth deck. One roof structure will be added at the northwest corner to match existing with additional roof structures over the other stairs as alternates. One additional stair with a roof covering from the current top deck to our new deck may be added in the southeast corner. 18) Please provide a specification for the lighting system on other levels, if the existing lights are not desired please provide a new specification? Will the existing electrical panels accommodate the new lights on the 3rd and 4th levels? ANSWER: JQ: This is being reviewed and not available at this time. 19) It is assumed the 4th level lights will be brought from the existing 3rd level pole lights? please confirm ANSWER: JQ: Existing poles are planned to be reused on the new roof deck with fixtures being replaced. Other options may be reviewed during design. Please sign and confirm that you have received this addendum 1 by including this with your proposal Signed Printed Name Date
