Quotations appearing on the Proposal are to reflect the provisions of this Addendum. Failure to acknowledge receipt of this Addendum in the space provided on the response sheet may subject candidate to disqualification. Response to Questions: 1. Question: Is any asbestos abatement/lead abatement or PCB remediation involved in the scope of the work? Response: There is no asbestos abatement/lead abatement or PCB remediation involved in the scope of work. 2. Question: Based on the mixed use of the building, will all branch circuit wiring (plugs, lights, switching) need to be type MC cable #12 wire minimum? Response: Yes, MC cable with #12 wire minimum is required. 1

2 3. Question: Will all fire alarm wiring be run in ridged steel conduit? Response: Yes, the alarm cable must be protected in metal conduit. 4. Question: Will all security, data, and phone wiring need to be run in conduit? Response: Yes, all security, data, and phone wiring need to be run in conduit. 5. Question: Please provide type/specifics regarding electrical floor boxes required. Response: The electrical floor boxes required are Legrand/Wiremold 880W2827B with brass flange and brass flush cover for wood floors. 6. Question: Please provide the City of Norwalk s requirements for CCTV camera and equipment (type, IP network, analog, local DVR...) Response: The City of Norwalk has decided to exclude these products and services from this project. 7. Question: There are several ID code numbers on the drawings that are not listed in the framing note schedule on drawing A-103. Please clarify. Response: Drawing A103 clarifications: Detail 1: FTG-001 changed to FDN-001, FTG-003 changed to FDN-002 Detail 1: FRMG-000 changed to FRMG Question: Is the crawl space area to receive a concrete slab over new vapor barrier and insulation? Response: Yes, the crawl space area is to receive a 4" slab. 9. Question: What is the size of the new water service? Will owners pay utility company (water, electric, etc.) fees associated with the new services? Response: The new water service will be 1. The contractor will pay for hook-up; the City of Norwalk will excavate for the lines. 2

3 10. Question: Is it to be assumed that existing framing will be acceptably straight and plumb to receive new drywall and finishes? Response: Yes, please make this assumption. 11. Question: Drawing A-103 indicates cedar columns and plate beams for the new entry roof. Drawing A-502 indicates pressure treated lumber. Please clarify. Response: Drawing A-502 has been revised to coordinate with A-103 to indicate cedar. 12. Question: Drawing A-701 (Elevation at Railing) ID # points to framing members, but ID refers to decorative railings. Please clarify. Response: Drawing A-701 has been revised to indicate correct designation for brackets. 13. Question: Regarding Drawing A-103 Section at Foundation 005A, is it intended to provide a monolithic poured slab and footing as shown? Response: No, drawing A-103 has been clarified to show individual pours for footing and slab. 14. Question: Regarding Drawing A-103 Section FDN 005, no reinforcing steel is indicated for the footing, is this correct? Are the wall and footing intended to be a monolithic pour as shown? Response: Drawing A-103 has been revised to show reinforcing in footing. Note: all footings and concrete walls are specified to have reinforcing/rebars. 15. Question: Specification manual page 10 of 12 states excavation for utility services is by the City and excluded from this contract. RI note on drawing A-001 states all excavations including utilities are by contractor. Please clarify Response: All excavation is to be included in the contractor's scope of work, with the exception of the utility lines that will be performed by the City of Norwalk. 3

4 16. Question: Please confirm that removals and grading of the crawl space area and the excavation for slab work at the basement are by the Owner and excluded from this contract. Response: Removal of debris will be performed by the City. All excavation and grading for new slab is to be included in the contractor's scope of work. 17. Question: Are floor framing details forthcoming for areas where concrete floors are removed? Please advise. Response: It is assumed that the concrete is a top coat pour over the existing framing. No additional framing should be required. 18. Question: Regarding the new electric service. Given the distance from the street there will be a large voltage drop. Is it expected that the power company will run service to a transformer close to building Response: The contractor will pay for utilities hook-up; the City of Norwalk will excavate for the lines. The contractor will not be required to supply or install a transformer. 19. Question: Please confirm that Environmental Liability and Errors & Ommission/Professional Liability insurance coverages are not a requirement of the contractor for this project. Response: Environmental Liability and Errors & Ommission/Professional Liability insurances will not be required by the awarded contractor for this project. 4

5 New Information: 1. As a result of the questions listed on the preceding pages of this addendum, revisions have been made to several of the plans/drawings associated with this project. These drawings are available by clicking on the web links provided below. Technical Reproduction, Inc. will make full-size drawings available. For those firms that paid $50.00 for the original set of specifications and drawings, the drawings will be provided at no additional cost. A copy of the attendance/sign-in sheet for the Pre-bid Conference on April 18, 2013 is listed on the following page of this addendum. 3. The deadline for submission of questions was 2:00 pm, April 23, No other questions will be answered after the issuance of this Addendum #1. 5
