Chicago Helicopter Experience Terminal Chicago Helicopter Experience Chicago, Illinois Responsible for the complete Structural engineering of a new, high design, two story steel and concrete structure on the Chicago River. The site included challenging geotechnics due to the close proximity to the Chicago River as well as large deposits of urban fill from prior buildings and activities at the same location. Responsibilities included total analysis, design and detailing of the structure, including coordination with architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and civil engineering. One Museum Park East and West The Enterprise Companies Chicago, Illinois responsible for design of numerous components of 54 and 62 story concrete high rise structures, including concrete slab elements, shear wall link beams and a three story structural steel roof top mechanical screen wall. Lou Malnati s Goldcoast Lou Malnati s Chicago, Illinois Responsible for the detailed engineering of modifications to an existing wooden bowstring truss building to accommodate a new restaurant tenant. Scope included repair and reinforcing of existing joists, design of new HSS steel tube structures for unique pivot doors and modifications to existing masonry walls to accommodate large glass openings and support of a new restaurant sign. The Gage The Gage Chicago, Illinois Responsible for the detailed engineering of modifications to an existing clay tile arch building in downtown Chicago to accommodate a new restaurant tenant. 4 Industrial Council of Nearwest Chicago Structural Evaluation ICNC Chicago, Illinois Responsible for the detailed evaluation of a 416,000 square facility spread across many 100+ year old masonry and heavy timber buildings. Scope included identification of structural deficiencies, recommendations for repairs and cost estimates. Chicago O Hare Terminal 5 Restaurants Chicago O Hare Chicago, Illinois of record for several new tenant build-out restaurants in Chicago, Illinois. Scope included highly detailed design of an aesthetically interesting overhead steel bar structure. 3 rd and Constitution DC Water Washington, D.C. Responsible for the detailed engineering of a major overhaul of a waste water pumping station on the national mall in downtown Washington D.C. Scope included design of new concrete access way and aluminum stairs and modifications to the existing underground concrete structure. 300 S Riverside Fitness and Conference Center 300 S Riverside Chicago, Illinois Responsible for the detailed engineering of the modifications to an existing composite steel and concrete building to accommodate a new fitness and conference center. Design included innovative techniques to increase the composite action between the existing structural steel and concrete floor slab. St Patrick School St Patrick School St. Charles, Illinois Structural engineer on the design of a new award winning two story elementary school using reinforced bearing masonry walls and composite steel and concrete slabs. Design included large public gathering spaces including gyms, auditoriums and a cafeteria as well as classrooms and office spaces. Design including a detail vibration analysis of the effect of rhythmic motion activities on adjacent spaces. Yardley Aqueduct Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Yardley, Pennsylvania Responsible for the detail engineering analysis of an existing concrete aqueduct structure. Analysis included development of a full 3D finite element model of the existing reinforced concrete aqueduct structure and review of several possible reinforcing options. 5 La Cygne Power Plant Kansas City Power La Cygne, Kansas Structural engineer on the design of a massive structural steel support structure for a new selective catalytic reducer (SCR) over an active power plant. Design included detailed analysis of the structural steel and design of super tall, unsupported custom plate girder columns with over 100 foot unbraced lengths. McGaw YMCA Meta Media McGaw YMCA Evanston, Illinois Structural engineer on the design of a new interactive youth media lab in an existing masonry and concrete structure.
