CAG ROOF REPLACEMENT FOR HARFO COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS NORTH HARFO ELEMENTARY Addendum # This addendum is to be attached to the North Harford Elementary School Roof Replacement bid drawings dated February, 0. This addendum modifies and becomes part of the contract documents. Work and/or materials not specifically mentioned herein are to be as shown on the drawings and in the general notes. These items in the addendum have no specific order. All contractors are responsible for checking all items. This addendum consists of pages and drawing sheets. The following shall be incorporated into the captioned solicitation as though included in the original documents issued: QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS CLARIFICATION: Bids are due at :00 pm March, 0 as stated in the Specifications. Q. Other than at the top and bottom of all ladders, is there a walk pad layout. A. No, walk pads are only required at the top and bottom of all ladders. Q. Roof details reference wood cants, can perlite or wood fiber cants be used? A. Perlite can be substituted. Q. Are gravel retainers required at drain locations? A. Not required. Q. Detail /A references new prefabricated insulated metal curbs. Where are the new curbs required? A. New prefabricated insulated metal curb reference is for any damaged, deteriorated or curbs that need to be raised to meet the minimum flashing height specification. Q. Please confirm there is no vapor barrier required. A. No, unless the manufacturer requires a vapor barrier to meet the specified warranty. If so then that will be included in this bid and not considered a change order. Q. Section 0000 Part,.E Site Enclosure Fence is staging area required to be fenced in or just tanker locations? A. Required at tanker locations. Staging area not required to be fenced. Q. Section 0 Part,.F Flashing Coating does granule surfaced flashing membrane need to have a reflective coating installed? A. Granule surfaced flashing membrane is not required to have reflective coating unless manufacturer requires it to meet their warranty.

2 Q. Do the two metal deck areas (roofs F & G) have existing structural slope? A. Existing steel is not sloped per the existing building drawings. Q. Is the new base sheet that s specified to be fastened to the lightweight deck need to be a SBS base sheet? Can a typical glass base sheet be used? A. The base sheet is to be as specified in Section 0 Part,.. Q0. Can the lightweight deck be incorporated into the specified R 0 insulation system? If so, what is the average R value of the existing lightweight? A0. Assume an R value of 0 for the existing lightweight deck. Minimum new insulation at the drain to be thick. Q. Roof drawing T core sample information only references insulation thickness on the roof areas F & G. Addendum # Roof Core Summary, does not reference insulation thickness, summary also does not correspond with the associated pictures. If the existing insulation known? A. Roof F is believed to have approximately ½ of insulation with tapered over metal deck. Roof G is believed to have ½ insulation over metal deck. Q. Please confirm that all new ISO insulation to be psi. A. All new ISO insulation to be psi. Q. Do asbestos containing coatings on the previously tested flashings need to be removed by an Asbestos, or can a trained roofing employee perform this work? A. The asbestos containing coatings on the previously tested flashings can be removed by a trained roofing employee pending the following: Training certificates of all employees involved with the removal of the flashings must be provided to HCPS prior to work commencing on the flashings. The flashings must remain non friable. Containment must be per the Specification Section 000. If the flashings become friable, stop work, and notify HCPS.
