1 CONCRETE FOOTINGS AND WALLS Job Ready Checklist This list is to be reviewed by the Builder/Superintendent to verify that the job site is ready for the Trade Contractor to arrive and begin work. Check box when complete Permit card clearly posted. Notice of commencement/ lien waiver is posted. Full accessibility to house is established, including gravel pad. Proper overcut provided to insure safe and workable access to install and strip panels. In order to minimize pump requirements, the builder must assume responsibility for obtaining lot access for heavy equipment. Silt fence is in place. Readable sign identifying the lot number is posted. Proper compaction has been achieved. Grade is within +/- 2 level. At least two (2) corners are clearly staked. Builder has provided the Trade Contractor with a complete set of lot-specific plans and specs, including any homeowner changes. Finished elevation is clearly marked. Location of sleeve or boring in the basement for sewer and water line is verified and marked. Water meter location is marked and visible. Builder has designated a washout area for the cement trucks. Builder-provided materials are on site. Builder has conducted an on-site preview of the job specific items with the Trade Contractor or the Trade Contractor s representative. 2 ADDENDUM TO THE TRADE CONTRACTOR AGREEMENT Scopes of Work Concrete Footings and Walls Preparation: Builder has verified the completion of the Job Ready Checklist for Concrete Footings and Walls. Perform all work within the guidelines specified in the contract, applicable building codes, and the Homeowner Handbook (or applicable warranty program of the builder). All work to be completed in a manner that respects the efforts and materials of other Trades. Builder to provide a complete set of lot-specific plans and specs to the Trade Contractor, including the following: Correct staking and setbacks Finished sub grade elevation Rebar specifications Grade beam locations and dimensions Brick ledge locations and dimensions Correct compaction Wall height and thickness Footing size required per local codes Location of the two (2) pins Install and brace forms to maintain a straight edge (tolerance of ½ in 40 ), level (tolerance of ½ in 20 ), and diagonally square (tolerance of ½ ). Brace forms to prevent blowouts and to maintain tolerances listed above. Maintain level brick ledges. Brick ledge elevation must remain below top-of-wall elevation at all times. Insure all applicable chases and sleeves are securely in place prior to pouring (waterproofing, water and sewer). All excavated footings shall be of uniform depth, straight alignment, clean and cut to size, shape and dimensions shown on plans, pertinent to applicable building codes. Cave-ins and washouts shall be corrected prior to pouring. Confirm that local inspection has been passed, if applicable. Concrete Placement: Trade Contractor is responsible for the concrete once the truck arrives on the site. Builder must approve conveying or pumping equipment as specified in the Job Ready Checklist Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, Inc. Page 1 of 3

3 Scopes of Work Continued Concrete Footings and Walls Concrete Placement (continued) Do not pour concrete on frozen ground. Avoid pouring when the temperature is dropping to below freezing within 24 hours. The use of calcium additive requires Builder approval. Do not add more water to the concrete than is absolutely necessary to achieve the desired strength and results. Install bolts or straps as concrete is poured. Space per code. Do not place bolts or straps at doorways. Straps must be within 12 of a corner or end. Concrete finish is smooth-troweled. Pits and depressions may not exceed 1/8 in 32. Finished product is square, level, plumb, and meets minimum PSI of 2500 unless specified by code. Insure all rebar is installed per Builder specs. Keyway is in place. Protect all adjacent work from concrete splatter. Contractor is responsible for the quality and completion of the job regardless of the weather or time of day. Contractor is responsible for protecting the concrete from anticipated rain or sub-freezing temperatures. Insure that form-boards remain free of all concrete overpours. Any overpour must be moved away from the slab and footings. Strip all forms. Point and patch all vertical surfaces prior to job completion. Turn in all delivery tickets to the Builder. Insure all forming materials are stripped and removed. All sleeves are to be clean and clear of obstructions. Washout of all concrete trucks should occur at the Builder-designated washout area. It is the responsibility of the Trade Contractor to insure that the streets are clean and clear of mud and dirt from the trucks Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, Inc. Page 2 of 3

Concrete contractor is responsible for any corrections needed for framing adaptations due to the lack of squareness in concrete. 5 CONCRETE FOOTINGS AND WALLS Job Complete Checklist This checklist is to be reviewed by both the Trade Contractor and the Builder/Superintendent to verify that the work has been completed according to the Scopes of Work. Check box when complete TRADE BUILDER All forms have been removed and materials are stacked. Finished work meets tolerances for square, level, plumb, and specified PSI. Vertical surfaces have been rubbed smooth, and patched as needed. All ties have been knocked off. Concrete contractor is responsible for any corrections needed for framing adaptations due to the lack of squareness in concrete. Materials, litter, and construction debris, have been cleaned up and deposited in the designated area.
