WORK PERFOMED ON THE METAL ROOFING SYSTEM AND LOUVER SYSTEM IS TO BE PERFORMED BY A QUALIFIED SHEET METAL CONTRACTOR WHOS CORE FOCUS IS SHEET METAL ROOF INSTALLATIONS ONLY. 2. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR COMPLETING ALL SPECIFIED REQUIREMENTS NECESSARY TO PROVIDE FOR COMPLETED WORK BEING SOUND, DURABLE AND WATERTIGHT.. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR COMPLETING ALL CONTRACTED WORK IN STRICT ACCORDANCE WITH PROJECT REQUIREMENTS AND/OR MANUFACTURER REQUIREMENTS WHICHEVER IS MORE STRINGENT. SPECIAL PROJECT CONDITIONS:. MINIMIZE DISTURBANCE TO THE FACILITY AND ITS OCCUPANTS AND COMPONENTS. THERE SHALL BE NO INTERFERENCE WITH THE OPERATION OR USE OF THE FACILITY. 2. PROTECT THE BUILDING, THE PROPERTY, THE BUILDING OCCUPANTS AND THEIR PROPERTY.. PROVIDE PROTECTIVE BARRICADES, ENCLOSURES, DIRECTIONAL AND WARNING SIGNAGE AND OTHER METHODS TO ASSURE SAFE PASSAGE OF PEDESTRIANS AND VEHICLES IN, NEAR AND AFFECTED BY AREAS OF THE WORK. 4. DO NOT DISRUPT SERVICES OR BLOCK EGRESS. THERE SHALL BE NO INTERFERENCE WITH LIFE SAFETY FEATURES.. IN ADDITION TO PERFORMING THE WORK HEREIN DEFINED, KEEP ALL AREAS IN A WATERTIGHT CONDITION THROUGHOUT CONSTRUCTION PERIOD. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE AND BEAR ALL COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH TEMPORARY WATERPROOFING. 6. REPAIR AND REINSTALL ITEMS DAMAGED DURING THE COURSE OF THE WORK OF THIS PROJECT. REUSE OF ANY ITEMS INVOLVED IN THE WORK IS SUBJECT TO THE CONTRACTOR'S ABILITY TO REMOVE, STORE AND REINSTALL THE ITEM WITHOUT PERMANENTLY DAMAGING OR MARRING THE ITEMS TO BE REUSED. IF THE CONTRACTOR IS UNABLE TO REUSE ANY ITEM AS PRESCRIBED HEREIN, HE SHALL SUBSTITUTE NEW MATERIAL TO MATCH EXISTING IN LIEU OF REUSING IT. CONTRACTOR MAY ALSO ELECT TO USE NEW MATERIAL TO MATCH EXISTING IN LIEU OF REUSE OF EXISTING FOR HIS OWN CONVENIENCE. CONTRACTOR SHALL TAKE ALL NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT THE BUILDINGS EXTERIOR AND GROUNDS, INCLUDING GRASS, PLANTS, TREES, SHRUBS, OTHER LANDSCAPING, AND ALL CONCRETE AND PAVED AREAS. ALL DAMAGES SHALL BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED TO OWNER'S SATISFACTION AT NO COST TO OWNER. 7. CONTRACTORS SHALL ABIDE TO OWNER AND/OR PROPERTY RULES AND REGULATIONS IN TERMS OF SCHEDULING ACCESS TO WORK AREAS, EMPLOYEE CONDUCT AND NOISE RESTRICTIONS AS PROVIDED SEPARATELY BY THE OWNER(S). 8. ACCESS TO AREAS OF WORK SHALL BE CONDUCTED FROM THE EXTERIOR OF THE FACILITY BY USE OF TEMPORARY BUILDING LADDER OR STAGE EQUIPMENT. 9. IN CASE OF HURRICANE CONDITIONS OR OTHER NATURAL OCCURRENCES, CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL REMOVAL OF CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS FROM PROJECT SITE AND/OR SUFFICIENTLY STORED AT LOCATIONS ACCEPTABLE TO OWNER(S). 0. ALL ROOFING IMPROVEMENTS APPROVED BY OWNER SHALL BE CONDUCTED AT TIMES PRE-APPROVED BY THE OWNER IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE APPROVED PROJECT SCHEDULE. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE SUFFICIENT MANPOWER AND EQUIPMENT TO COMPLETE CONTRACTED WORK WITHIN ALLOTTED SCHEDULE.. THE CONTRACT DRAWINGS REPRESENT THE FINISHED ROOFING SYSTEM. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ALL MEASURES NECESSARY TO PROTECT THE STRUCTURE DURING CONSTRUCTION, SUCH MEASURES SHALL INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, BRACING, SHORING FOR LOADS DUE TO CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT, ETC. THE ENGINEER OR OWNER SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONTRACTOR'S MEANS, METHODS, TECHNIQUES, SEQUENCES FOR PROCEDURE OF CONSTRUCTION, OR THE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND THE PROGRAMS INCIDENT THERETO (NOR SHALL OBSERVATION VISITS TO THE SITE INCLUDE INSPECTION OF THESE ITEMS.).02 SUMMARY OF WORK SCHEDULE A WALK THROUGH TO DETERMINE SCOPE QUANTITIES IS RECOMMENDED FOR BIDDING. CONTRACTORS SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR MOBILIZATION AND MAINTAINING SCAFFOLDING, SAFETY BARRICADES, OVERHEAD PROTECTION, BUILDING PROTECTION, LANDSCAPE PROTECTION AND PROJECT SIGNAGE REQUIRED FOR THE PROJECT THE FULL DURATION OF THE PROJECT. COORDINATE ALL MOBILIZATION OF EQUIPMENT, MATERIALS AND INCIDENTAL ITEMS WITH FACILITY MANAGEMENT AND LOCAL GOVERNING AUTHORITIES IN ACCORDANCE WITH PRE-APPROVED PROJECT SCHEDULE. B. METAL RIDGE CAP SYSTEM.. REMOVE EXISTING METAL RIDGE CAP SYSTEM AND ALL RELATED METAL COMPONENTS. (MAIN RIDGE CAP ONLY) 2. CLEAN EXISTING AREA FREE OF ANY DEBRIS.. MECHANICALLY ATTACH NEW METAL RIDGE CAP SYSTEM PER MANUFACTURES 4. PROVIDE AND INSTALL ALL SHEET METAL AND ACCESSORIES AS INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS. ALL SHEET METAL FLASHING, COUNTERFLASHING AND COPINGS REQUIRED FOR THIS PROJECT SHALL MATCH EXISTING METAL.. FASTENERS SHALL BE SELECTED FOR PROPER RESISTANCE AND COMPATIBILITY TO SUBSTRATE AND MADE OF #04 STAINLESS STEEL WITH SEALING WASHER AND OF SUFFICIENT LENGTH TO PROVIDE MINIMUM PENETRATION OF -INCH. SUBMIT FASTNER SIZE AND LOCATION TO ENGINEER FOR APPROVAL BEFORE USE. 6. PROVIDE CONTRACTORS ROOFING GUARANTEE FOR COMPLETE WATER TIGHT SYSTEM FOR A PERIOD OF FIVE YEARS FROM SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION OF PROJECT. SUBMIT COPY OF GUARANTEE TO ENGINEER FOR APPROVAL. 7. PERFORM FINAL CLEANING OF ALL AREAS AFFECTED BY THIS ROOFING PROJECT AND DISPOSE OF ALL DEBRIS IN A LEGAL MANNER. C. LOUVER REPLACEMENT. REMOVE EXISTING LOUVER SYSTEMS AND METAL FLASHING REMOVE ALL RESIDUE AND SOLVENT WIPE ANY AND ALL SURFACES TO BE SEALED. 2. INSTALL NEW METAL FLASHING, 2" BUTYL TAPE TO THE TOP AND BOTTOM OF OPENING. INSTALL NEW SILL PAN AND COUNTER FLASHING OF LOUVER SYSTEM. INSTALL NEW KYNAR FINISHED LOUVER SYSTEM WITH INSECT SCREENS PER MANUFACTURES. SUBMIT COLOR SAMPLES FOR OWNER APPROVAL.. DISPOSE OF ALL ITEMS AND MATERIALS PROMPTLY. ON SITE STORAGE OF REMOVED ITEMS IS PROHIBITED. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ALL REFUSE CONTAINMENT RESULTING FROM DEMOLITION WORK, AND REFRAIN FROM USING ANY ON-SITE, EXISTING REFUSE CONTAINER. DO NOT PROCEED WITH THE WORK UNTIL UNSATISFACTORY CONDITONS HAVE BEEN RESOLVED FULLY. 2. SUBMISSIONS: SUBMIT A LETTER FROM SEALANT MANUFACTURER INDICATING THATADHESION AND COMPATIBILITY TESTING HAS BEEN PERFORMED ON ACTUAL SAMPLES OF ALUMINUM FRAMING SYSTEMS ARCHITECURAL PRECAST CONCRETE COMPONENTSTHAT MATERIALS AND THAT ADHESION IS ACCEPTABLE. INDICATE REQUIREMENTS FOR PRIMERS OR SPECIAL PREPARATION. a. SUBMIT SAMPLES OF CUSTOM COLOR SEALANT MATERIALS MATCHING COLOR SAMPLES PROVIDED BY DESIGN PROFESSIONAL.. PREPARE, CAULK AND FINISH ONE MOCK-UP SAMPLE OF EACH JOINT CONDITION.. WARRANTY: INSTALLERS WARRANTY; WARRANT WORK TO BE WATERTIGHT AND FREE FROM DEFECTS IN MATERIALS AND WORKMANSHIP, INCLUDING JOINT FAILURE, FOR A PERIOD OF FIVE YEARS. WARRANT EXTERIOR SILICONE SEALANTS TO BE FREE FORM DEFECTS IN MATERIALS FOR A PERIOD OF TEN YEARS. 4. GENERAL SCOPE: a. TRIM BACK THE EXISTING EXTERIOR GASKETS AT ALL METAL TO GLASS WINDOW JOINTS. REMOVE ALL RESIDUE AND SOLVENT WIPE THE SURFACE TO BE WET SEALED. PREPARE THE SURFACE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SEALANT MANUFACTURERS WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS. (LOCATION OF WINDOWS CAN BE SEEN ON ROOF PLAN DRAWINGS). b. DISPOSE OF ALL ITEMS AND MATERIAL PROMPTLY. ON SITE STORAGE OF REMOVED ITEMS IS PROHIBITED. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ALL REFUSE CONTAINMENT RESULTING FROM DEMOLITION WORK, AND REFRAIN FROM USING ANY ON-SITE, EXISTING REFUSE CONTAINER. c.
