Leading the market in manufacture and supply of: Cast iron soil & drain and rainwater systems Ductile iron water & sewer pipes, fittings, valves and couplings & adaptors Ductile iron access covers and gratings. With access to worldwide technical excellence and a large portfolio of products, Saint-Gobain PAM UK is able to combine the benefits of a global presence with the ability to tailor to local specification, to ensure they provide the highest standard of drainage solutions in the UK market today. With Saint-Gobain PAM UK and the PAM brand of products you are assured of quality, innovation and technical expertise at all times. To enhance the product portfolio of the soil & drain business Saint-Gobain PAM UK would like to introduce Cyclone, a galvanised steel rainwater system. The range consists of gutters and downpipes in three sizes and associated accessories. All components are made from galvanised high strength steel sheet and coated with Prelaq Nova from Swedish steel manufacturer SSAB which is a coating of High Build Polyester (HBP). This brochure introduces the complete range of products available from stock in four colours; black, silver, grey and white, with six other colours available to special order. All coated products come with a 15 year finish warranty against fading, blistering or peeling. 1 Contents System components...3 Colours and coating...4 Features and benefits...5 Gutters and fittings...6 Downpipes and fittings...11 Dimensions...15 Brackets...16 Guide to installation...16

4 Durable, long lasting material The Cyclone roof drainage system is produced in one of Europe s most up to date manufacturing facilities, enabling a consistently high quality to be maintained. The base material is steel sheet coated with Prelaq Nova which is extremely hard wearing. Coated steel sheet is the ideal material for withstanding the wear and tear to which a rainwater system is subjected in the form of water, air, sunlight, leaves and dirt. The coating also maintains its sheen and colour, and protects against rust. With these characteristics, the Cyclone system keeps its smart, fresh appearance for many years, requiring minimal maintenance. All you have to do is wash down with warm water and a light soapy detergent at least twice a year. Safe and easy installation The advantage of a complete system is that all the components are designed to fit together, making installation a quick and easy process, and ensuring that joints and connections are as watertight as possible. Our gutter brackets are designed to work safely while simplifying the job of installation. Once the brackets have been securely fixed, the gutter is placed in position and is secured in the bracket. Surface coating Primer Prelaq Nova coating composition Passivating layer Zinc 3 Colours and coating All components are made from galvanised high strength steel sheet and coated with Prelaq Nova from Swedish steel manufacturer SSAB which is a coating of High Build Polyester (HBP). This means that they withstand wind, sunshine and corrosion, so we can offer a warranty covering discolouration and paint flaking for up to 15 years. The Cyclone system needs no special maintenance except for cleaning of leaves and debris and washing down with warm soapy water at least twice a year. Every item in the system is made from the same sheet material so that it will age at a similar rate ensuring the system looks as good as the day it was installed without any colour change. Standard colours Steel sheet Prelaq Nova coating Prelaq RWS has a coating with a total thickness of 35 microns on each side The top coat contains polymer grains that make the surface durable The thickness has been optimised for wear and weather resistance The coating has excellent gloss retention and colour fastness enabling good protection against corrosion The coating has excellent flexibility and the steel sheet can be formed into various products without damage to the coating. After-treatment If the coating has been damaged, paint it with Cyclone s repair paint to prolong the lifespan of the rainwater system. Use a small brush to apply paint, see accessories on page 14. 5 Features and benefits of Cyclone Cost-effective solution Cyclone is competitively priced with quality leading plastic systems and more costeffective when compared with aluminium rainwater systems. Coating and colour choice Cyclone is available in a choice of four standard colours from stock; black, dark grey, silver metallic, and white. A further six colours are available and will be considered on a special order basis. The Cyclone coating finish is UV resistant and will not fade or crack over its guaranteed life. High performing material Steel is an extremely versatile material and an ideal choice for rainwater downpipe and gutter systems. It is lightweight making the product easier to handle and install, and being metal has minimal thermal movement compared with plastic systems which can twist and crack due to temperature changes. Steel rainwater systems are the material of choice in Scandinavian markets which perform under extreme temperature conditions. Simple installation Cyclone gutter and fittings are connected using simple jointing clips that click into place. Cyclone also uniquely offers small aluminium rods (150mm long) that provide additional strength and support, particularly for gutter angles (see page 17). Downpipes and fittings simply connect through spigot ends, which are supported by brackets that wrap round the pipe and wall mount. Cyclone can be installed using basic assembly tools (i.e. hacksaw, screwdriver, rubber hammer and file). Basic power tools like a drill, can further speed up the installation. Low maintenance Cyclone is considered to be a low maintenance product. General good practice for all guttering is to inspect the system on a regular basis to ensure the gutter system is kept free from debris that could cause a blockage, or reduce the effectiveness of the water flow. Saint-Gobain PAM recommends the system is washed down with warm soapy water at least twice a year. In areas with large trees the cleaning frequency may need to be increased. The right aesthetics A Cyclone system complements any domestic or commercial building, large or small, traditional or modern. Cyclone is the ideal rainwater solution for the discerning self builder, from timber framed houses to commercial buildings like supermarkets, industrial units and warehouses. The Social Housing sector in particular could benefit significantly from using steel over plastic systems with its superior longevity at a competitive rate. 4
