2 Objective of Seminar: The last 2 decades have seen enormous advances in concrete technology particularly in High Strength Concrete and High Performance Concrete leading to development of M75 and above grade Design Mix concrete, Durable concrete using PPC, Flyash, Slag and other mineral admixtures. Advancement in technology for production, transportation and placement of concrete has also been unprecedented. The current and future focus for construction industry and human society, in general, is on sustainable construction. This new age demand requires minimum harnessing of nature resources as well as recycling of materials for constructions. To meet this requirement, fundamental changes are required in concrete technology which we having been using so far. Moreover, modern concrete is required not just for RCC and Prestress construction but for numerous modern applications like Industrial applications, Highway pavements, landscape development, extreme weather/environment etc. Concrete also has to improve its aesthetic appearance to look slim, designer and colourful. A lot of R&D and innovations have been done world over and in India in concrete technology to meet above demands of the human society. The new age concrete shall have following features: 1) Slim and Sleek Concrete 2) Beautiful Concrete 3) Concrete with minimum water need to reduce water demand. 4) Concrete with no Cement to reduce carbon emission. 5) Concrete with Alternative raw material to reduce need of natural raw materials 6) Durable concrete for longer life of structures and lessor reconstruction.

3 Indian concrete Institute, Goa Centre endeavours to share latest above developments and knowledge in concrete technology with practicing and budding civil engineers of India. Hence this 2-days National seminar in Goa is being organized by ICI-Goa centre. Additional Attractions for Seminar: Goa Carnival: Goa is famous for its Annual Carnival held every year in February. The Carnival week is full of fun and fair with objective of Eat, Dance and Merry in Goa.
