1 March 13, 2017 ADDENDUM NO. 2 TO CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS, AND CONSTRUCTION SPECIFICATIONS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE Sycamore Canyon Road Watermain Replacement Project DATED FEBRUARY 2017 Notice is hereby given to bidders that this addendum is issued to make changes to the contract documents, construction drawings, and construction specifications. The following changes shall be made to the contract documents, construction drawings, and construction specifications by the Contractor. BID FORM (Section A3 Contractor s Proposal): Acknowledge receipt of Addendum No. 2 in the appropriate space in Section A3, Page 10. BID SHEET (Section A3 Contractor s Proposal): Bid Items #8-11. All service lines shall be new copper from the main to the meter to match diameter shown on plans. Bid Item #12. CLARIFICATION: Quantity of hydrant laterals is 8. Valves shall be new, not reused. Bid Item #14. Rock/Boulder Removal. CHANGE: Contingency bid quantity shall be 30 HOURS. DRAWING REVISION 2 (APPENDIX D): Sheet MWD Standards, Note #12, sentence 3 should read: All pipe fittings shall conform with the latest revisions of standards ANSI A21.10 and AWWA C-153 and shall be cement lined. Sheet General Note #14, add: MWD will cover costs of Caltrans double permit application. Sheet STA Culvert crossing is 3-foot by 2-foot stone crossing and will require 2-foot vertical offset (deepening pipe) using 4 x degree bends to maintain 8 clearance from bottom of stone channel. Contractor to include this cost in per LF cost of pipe, Bid Item #5. Sheet STA Add 18 box culvert crossing. Addendum No. 2 1 of 1

2 Sheet Detail 1. Pavement plug detail revised. SPECIFICATION SECTION C2: Resilient Wedge Gate Valves, should read: Gate valves shall be used for sizes 12 inch or less. No butterfly valves shall be used on this project. Section C4.03 Fire Hydrants. Add paragraph to end of section: Reconnect (Tie In) Existing Fire Hydrants. Existing fire hydrant reconnections shall include a tee with megalug restraints, 6-inch DIP spool, 6-inch gate valve, concrete thrust blocks, and shall connect into the existing 6-inch stub with a 6-inch sleeve. The hydrant, breakaway spool, and bury have recently been replaced under a MWD hydrant replacement program. C1.02 Bid Schedule Work Description. 3. Tie Over 1-Inch Service. Add to the end of the paragraph: Scope of work for service tie-ins includes all new copper piping and transition fittings from the new main to the meter box. If the meter box connection is smaller diameter than the service connection, a copper bushing shall be installed before the angle meter stop. C1.02 Bid Schedule Work Description. 4. Tie Over 1.5-inch or larger Service. Add to the end of the paragraph: Scope of work for service tie-ins includes all new copper piping and transition fittings from the new main to the meter box. If the meter box connection is smaller diameter than the service connection, a copper bushing shall be installed before the angle meter stop. C4.04 Water Services. Water Service Tie-Overs. MODIFY TO READ: All existing copper water services shall be tied over to the new ductile iron water main with size of services to match existing but must be either 1-inch, 1.5-inch, or 2-inch from the existing service line to the corporation stop. (See Section A2.07.) The District reserves the right to increase or decrease the quantity of any item or omit items as may be deemed necessary, and the same shall in no way affect or make void the contract, except that appropriate additions or deductions from the contract total price will be made at the stipulated unit price. The District further reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality or irregularity in any bid or the bidding procedure, and to delete any items of work in the award of contract. Bidders must bid on all items in the Bid Schedule in order for their bids to be complete. The award of contract will be based upon the total bid for all items.
