Renovations: Convert existing Science Laboratories into classrooms and remodel remaining existing Science Laboratories. Career and Technical Education program upgrades. Renewal: Mechanical, electrical and pool equipment improvements. Upgrade data wiring to District Standard. Interior and exterior painting. Correct ADA deficiencies. Site: New parking and circulation improvements. Site work, site utilities, storm water management and landscaping as necessary to accommodate the new buildings and additions. Competitive Sports Facility Improvements: An allowance of $917,202 including the Design/Builders general overhead and fees. Project Status 10/11/06 RFQ for Design Build Services advertised. 11/15/06 Design Criteria Documents complete and issued to short-listed firms. 12/13/06 Peter Brown Construction selected as design builder. 02/13/07 Board Approval. 02/13/07 New poles and lights installed at boy s baseball field. 03/10/07 New two story schematic plans including building elevations completed by Harvard Jolly and approved. Expect 60% design package due end of March. The 100% design documents due end of April. 03/29/07 Harvard Jolly submitted 60% Construction Documents for Phase One work that includes new two story addition, Building 7 renovations, and competitive sports improvements. 05/03/07 100% Construction document submittal for Phase One expected by 05/10/07 06/01/07 Peter Brown Construction has mobilized and construction office trailer now on site. Phase One documents complete and subcontractor bids being received.

2 07/06/07 On 06/07/07, Phase One Documents for new addition and site work submitted to DOE and Building Department for review and permit. New porcelain flooring being placed in Building No. 7. On 06/14/07, received Phase Two 60% submittal for campus wide renovation work. Football field and track improvements underway. Existing football field soils removed, 10 sand placed, and new irrigation piping installed. On 07/06/07, Tifway 419 Bermuda sod placed on laser graded field. 08/01/07 Building pad work started for new addition. Building 7 porcelain floor work completed along with repairs and cleaning of the existing air distribution system. At football field, new Bermuda grass, irrigation, and drainage systems complete. Track conversion to metric distances underway. 09/04/07 - Students and teachers returned to campus for fall semester on 08/20/07. Building 7 and all of the existing spaces were ready for occupancy. Building pad excavation work started on the new two story addition. Existing track was milled, two lanes added, and 2 layer of new asphalt placed. At the football stadium, new accessible parking and sidewalks well underway and expected to be completed before the first game on 09/10/07 10/05/07 At the football stadium, new accessible parking and sidewalks completed before the first game on 09/10/07. Temporary fences around track to remain in place until bleacher modifications completed later this year. At new Building 17, excavation work completed and two abandoned artesian wells grouted solid and capped. As noted in subsurface soils report, unsuitable materials were located and removed. Foundation work now started. 11/02/07 Building 17 foundations complete, under ground MEP rough in started. 12/05/07 Building 17 under slab utilities complete and slab on grade concrete placed. Tilt panel casting beds placed, forms set, and reinforcing bars being placed. Expect tilt panel concrete placement later this month. Underground cooling & heating water piping from existing buildings to new chiller plant complete. Pre-bid held on 11/27/07 for Phase Two renovation work. Bid opening scheduled for 12/11/07. 01/04/08 Tilt panels have been erected at the new two story classroom Building 17 and Chiller Building 18. ADA modifications to football field bleachers substantially complete at visitor side, home side started. Track being prepared for synthetic surface and striping. Phase Two bids in and subcontract negotiations underway. 02/08/08 Tilt panels casted, erection expected in two weeks. Bid tabs for Phase Two being compiled for review. Auto lab lift replacement work completed. 03/04/08 Building 17 concrete tilt wall panels set in place; second floor hollow core concrete slabs currently being set along with steel roof joists. Synthetic surface placed at new metric sized sports track. Accessibility improvements nearly complete at stadium bleachers. Phase Two bids received and subcontracts being processed for approval. 04/01/08 Building 17 roof joist and metal deck set, insulated lightweight concrete placed. Interior above slab mechanical, plumbing, and electrical rough in work well underway. Bleacher and track work substantially complete. Phase Two bids received and within budget. 05/05/08 Building 17 roof dried in and interior finishes now under way. School and contractors preparing for renovation work in Buildings 1, 4, 5 and 7 that will begin immediately at the start of summer break.

3 06/03/08 Building 17 interior finishes continue. AC start up expected next week. Renovation work in Buildings 1, 4, 5 and 7 to start on Thursday 6/05/08. Temporary admin office trailer ready for phone relocate on 6/05/08. Movers have boxed media center books and moved to storage in annex. Teachers have boxed most of their stuff and ready for movers. 07/02/08 Building 17 nearing completion and furniture deliveries scheduled for 7/14/08. At Building 18, new campus wide chiller plant start up conducted on 7/02/08. Temporary administration trailers at southeast corner of campus now occupied. In order for renovation and remodeling efforts to begin, movers emptied Buildings 1, 4, 5, 6, 7 in ten days. At time of this report, abatement and demolition work nearly complete in all of those buildings. Work started on new gymnasium floor. New above ceiling duct work, fire sprinkler piping, and electrical rough ins complete at Building 7, suspended ceiling started. Buildings 6, 7, 17, 18 will be occupied when students report on 8/18/08. Buildings 1, 4, 7 scheduled for completion by late October. 08/01/08 At new Building 17, furniture in place and being readied for students. New Band Classroom being set up. New science labs in final completion stage. Sidewalks with canopies connecting to existing campus building now in place. At Building 18 new chiller plant operational. At Building 7, over the summer replaced the entire existing AC duct and installed three new air handling units. Also, upgraded each classroom to 21 st Century technologies. Renovated the ROTC and auto lab spaces. Furniture now in place at east side classrooms started moving in at west side classrooms. Stored boxes being moved back into each space. At Building 6, summer work continues but is nearing completion. At cafeteria installed new independent AC unit for storage spaces, replaced existing AC duct work, installed new ceilings & floors, and painted walls. At gym, new wood floor installed. At choral suite, replaced existing AC duct work, installed new ceilings, and painted walls. Existing Band area renovated to weight room with sound wall separation. At locker rooms, work in progress includes new AC duct work above new hard ceiling, expected to be completed by time student s return. Fire protection sprinklers are being installed campus wide. New sidewalks and canopies being erected at south administration area along with parent drop off loop. Tennis and basketball courts displaced by new building being reconstructed. Contractors have been working seven days a week all summer to assure campus will be ready for students and teachers when they return this month. Remodeling & renovation work will continue in Buildings 1, 4, 5 through October /01/08 After a busy summer, Buildings 6, 7, 13, 17 are now substantially complete and occupied by students and teachers. School also continues to occupy Buildings 2 and 3 along with twenty-three portable classroom units and three portables for the administration. Remodeling in Buildings 1, 4, and 5 well underway and expect scheduled occupancy and turn over to the school before end of Thereafter, remaining renovation work will be limited to Buildings 2 & 3 along with site improvements where portables currently placed. 10/06/08 MEP rough ins completed in Buildings 1, 4, and 5 and interior/exterior finishes started. 10/31/08 Building 4 and 5 finishes nearing completion and AC system started. All spaces getting new porcelain tile flooring. Building 1 finishes well underway. Exterior painting started at south exposure. New tennis court and basketball court paving complete, fenced, and prep work for final color coating started. 12/05/08 Building 4/5 renovation work complete and furniture moved in. Peter Brown Construction and subs currently working on punch lists items. Building 1 remodeling work nearly complete. Final phase where school moves out of Buildings 2 and 3 to start over holidays. 4 01/06/09 Building 1, 4, and 5 work complete, furniture move in continues. Administrative offices moved out of temporary portables and back into Building 1 remodeled spaces. Media Center will move back into Building 1 during the next month as new furniture is delivered. ATT and Bright House provided new service cables from Mustang Drive to the new demarc and computer equipment room. Demolition work in the final phase in Buildings 2 and 3 nearly complete. Over the holidays, contractors also additional completed upgrades in Buildings 6 and 7. New tennis & basketball courts now fenced and color coated. Swimming pool repairs completed past month and over the holidays include replacing corroded butterfly valves at filter tanks, removing and replacing broken ceramic tile copings, and leveling brick pavers. As an enhancement and to improve access from sidewalks, a new ornamental fence was installed around the pool. 02/02/09 Work completed in Buildings 1, 4, 5, 6 and now occupied by school. Remaining and final phase work well underway in Buildings 2 and 3. 03/04/09 Building 2 and 3 work in final stages and punch list inspections started. 04/02/09 Building 2 and 3 received occupancy permits and move in started. Expect students and teachers to occupy after spring break. Project substantially complete 3/26/09. Contractors working on final punch lists and preparing for demobilization. 05/05/09 All building occupied by students and teachers. First time in four years portables to the west along SR 3 not required. Class of 2009 happy they can finish year without walking to portables any longer! Gym Building 6 new curtain wall work continues and expected to be complete in May. Soccer field lighting continues and expected to be complete in May. On 5/13/09 final certificate of occupancy submitted for all buildings. Punch list work continues. 06/05/09 Peter Brown Construction and Harvard Jolly conducted a project substantial completion inspection on 6/04/09 and final punch list created. Heard Construction started summer projects to improve parking and drainage issues along with a number of minor deficiencies noted on the annual facility assessments. Exterior corridor lighting will be improved and for energy savings will be connected to digital controls. For additional energy savings an FPL service and pole lights no longer required will be removed. 7/03/09 Peter Brown Construction reached project substantial completion and certificate with punch list submitted 6/15/09. Soccer field lights complete. Heard Construction completed summer demolition work and now establishing grades for parking & drainage improvements. Concrete placed in foundation & slab for new roof structure between Buildings 6 and 7. Exterior corridor lighting rough in complete and sidewalk coating prep work started. 8/04/09 Peter Brown Construction continues to work on few remaining punch list items. Heard Construction nearing completion on small summer projects. 9/04/09 Peter Brown Construction has completed all work and just addressing any warranty related work from offsite offices. Heard Construction has completed all summer project work except for sidewalk canopy between Buildings 3 and 7 and some small deferred maintenance scopes. 10/01/09 Peter Brown Construction project scopes declared complete on 9/16/09. Carr Riggs & Ingram submitted audit engagement letter for PBC dated 9/08/09. All contractual documents and final pay request transmitted to CR&I for review and audit. Expect final contract amount to be verified and certified within the next thirty days. Merritt Island HS has scheduled a rededication event for Tuesday, October 9:30am.

5 11/03/09 Peter Brown Construction project scope complete and financial audit has started. 12/08/09 Carr Riggs & Ingram completed financial audit field work with Peter Brown Construction, now preparing final report. Heard Construction has completed all summer project work. Theater Building 14 roof getting new cap sheet on the roof, metal roof panels coated, and brick sealed. CEG prepared design documents to address site lighting deficiencies, scope to be bid 12/17/09. Hanson Professional Services selected for an HVAC retro-commissioning effort. A site survey of the new and renovated HVAC systems was conducted on 12/02/09 and functional performance testing scheduled for 2/02/09. 01/04/10 - Carr Riggs & Ingram requested additional financial information from Peter Brown Construction prior to preparation of final report. Heard Construction has completed project scopes and have demobilized from site. Carr Riggs & Ingram to conduct financial audit regarding Heard Construction concurrent with other projects when they are completed this spring. 2/09/10 Financial audit to certify final contract amount complete and Amendment No.2 being prepared. Sena-Tech started site lighting project. Hanson Professional Services completed HVAC retrocommissioning on site testing. 03/02/10 Peter Brown Construction Contract Amendment No.1 went to Board for information on 2/23/10 and Agenda Item #41 for consent on 3/09/10. GMP will be reduced by deductions for owner direct purchases, sales tax savings, and unused contingency funds. Hanson Professional Services completed HVAC retro-commissioning and submitted final report with a master list of findings. Sena- Tech will install site lighting poles over spring break. 04/08/10 Peter Brown Construction and design build team remobilized to address items on the retrocommissioning list of findings. School custodians were further trained in filter replacements. Heard Construction has completed punch list items regarding theater metal roof painting, brick sealing, sidewalk coatings, kiln room work, and the site improvements. Sena-Tech installed site lighting poles at south and west parking areas over spring break. FPL scheduled to remove their light poles this June.
