Installation Manual DRAIN SET AT ENTRY TO CURBLESS SHOWER ON CONCRETE SUBFLOOR Typical Installation Details Office : or Fax : P.O. Box 1358 Frisco, Colorado quickdrainusa.com

Installation Manual DRAIN SET AT ENTRY TO CURBLESS SHOWER ON CONCRTET SUB-FLOOR For a ProLine drain set at the entry to a curbless shower as the primary shower drain: - Drain must be set parallel to shower entry. - Waves is the only recommended strainer pattern for a drain set at the entry. - The maximum water flow in this condition is 5 g.p.m. - Strainer must extend entire width of shower, from wall to wall. - Floor finish and shower pan finish must be flush at shower entry. - This is the easiest curbless installation as the shower pan does not need to be recessed - The ProLine drain membrane is not compatible with hot-mop. - Set drain 2-3 in from edge/entry of shower pan to allow for back slope to drain. 1 Measure and Mark the Drain Body Location distance from the back wall to the edge of drain trough hole on each end. (the drain center minus 5/8 ). center of the shower pan at drain location. center of drain from back wall. 1.6 Use a straight edge to mark all the lines to be cut. 2 Cut, Core and Chip Out Drain Body Hole (block out/form for new slab) 2.1 Core drill approx. a 3 diameter hole at the marked waste line location Cut out the appropriate length template from the shipping box. Place the template on the center mark If there is no plumbing access from below, make a 6 x6 void to access waste line connection after drain has been set. Using the template, mark the drain center hole, end and edges. Cut/chip a slot for the drain body trough at the marked location Rotate template 180 and mark opposite end and edges. Bring waste line to correct location. Attach and tighten no-hub coupling to waste line.

Set Placement Brackets (prevents movement of drain during shower pan installation) Measure from the back wall for exact placement bracket location. Set brackets approx from ends of drain trough. Fasten placement bracket to floor. Repeat steps 4.1 and 4.2 for second placement bracket Set the Quick Slope Break the scored line and cut other side. Membrane should be sized to cover entire shower pan floor and at least 6 up all vertical surfaces. All joints in membrane should have a 3 overlap. 5.6 Dry fit the Quick Slope and membrane to make sure everything fits. 6.1 QuickDrain recommends modified, self-curing, fast-setting thinset for setting Quick Slope, Flat Panel and waterproofing membrane. 5 Dry Fit Quick Slope, Flat Panel and Waterproof Membrane Dry fit the Quick Slope to decide if and where it needs to be cut. Set the thin edge of Quick Slope approx. 3 back from drain. 5.2 If your shower pan extends beyond 30 use QuickDrain s Flat Panel under additional Quick Slope to extend and maintain continuous one way slope to drain. Quick Slope Quick Slope Flat Panel To cut Quick Slope, score with a straight edge and utility knife Clean the area of all dust and debris with a broom and/or vacuum. Apply thinset to subfloor with 1/4 squarenotched trowel. Place Quick Slope on thinset leaving approx. 3 space from drain. Press Quick Slope firmly into place to avoid air voids.

6.6 Please see QS007 - QuickSeal membrane adhesive instructions for complete guide on new product before setting drain body. 8.2 Fold the membrane in half and hold it over the QuickSeal adhesive. Make sure membrane is aligned properly before setting in place. 7 Set Drain Body Apply thinset over Quick Slope and 6 past drain on opposite side with 3/16 V- notched trowel. Completely fill honeycomb cells. Set drain outlet into top of the no-hub coupling and press drain firmly into placement brackets Set membrane in place on top of adhesive and thinset starting at drain location. Use roller or clean trowel to flatten and adhere membrane at lap Set the Floor Membrane 8.1 For above floor access: Keep membrane folded over drain and tighten the no-hub coupling to drain body. For below floor access: tighten no-hub coupling from below. Reinforce and fill void around waste line. A 2 back-slope to drain is recommended. Press and smooth drain body membrane onto Quick Slope and sub-floor. Please see QS007 QuickSeal membrane adhesive instructions for complete guide on new product Cut membrane where necessary to make outside corners. Pull back membrane and set outside corners in place. Apply thinset to outside corner before re-setting shower pan membrane. Start at drain, press and smooth the membrane firmly into place on floor and outside corners.

8.8 Fold and work the membrane into inside corners. 8.9 Staple the membrane to wall framing at least 4 above the highest vertical point of the shower pan Let thinset cure according to the manufacturer s recommendations, then water test. When finishing shower, do not grout in strainer. Strainer must remain removable 9 Attach the strainer. (also known as: Cover, Grill, Grate or Top) 9.1 Protect the strainer with tape while installing the floor. If you need help or have questions, please call our technical support at QuickDrainUSA menu #5 9.2 Slide all supplied spacers onto the strainer. Approx. 1 spacer every Using the provided set screws, screw the strainer to the drain body on both ends. 9.4 Use the protected strainer locked in place to show finish floor height and tile layout.
