Why Kögel has invested in establishing its inhouse core competency for refrigerated boxes? Sandwich panels of our own manufacture

Because we have understood. In-house core competence Kögel took over the renowned sandwich panel competence centre in Duingen at the end of The factory in Duingen was founded in the 1970s by the Graaff waggon-building company and quickly developed into a popular supplier for dry freight and chilled distribution body manufacturers. Kögel took over the factory from the European Van Company, invested in manufacturing plant after the takeover and directly started a multistage test programme with side walls, roofs, front walls and floors. The new Kögel PurFerro competence centre in Duingen, with a workforce of 50 employees, today ranks amongst the leading manufacturers of sandwich panels in Germany. This also means that Kögel will be a pedigree manufacturer of box bodies in the future and who has all the necessary competences in-house. Kögel PurFerro as a supplier of high-quality box body components The bodies, produced in Duingen, are used not only at Kögel, but also by long-term satisfied and prestigious special manufacturers of temperature-controlled box bodies.

Kögel themselves incorporate the high-quality components in two brand-new Kögel vehicle ranges in the box body sector, the slightly insulated dry freight box body Kögel Box PurFerro quality and the chilled body Kögel Cool PurFerro quality. Kögel Box PurFerro quality Load securing and body strength as a result of compliance with the strength requirements in EN (Code XL). Versatile deployment possibilities covering the transportation of furniture, electrical items or temperature-sensitive goods, especially in inter-hub courier, express and parcel services (CEP) t r a f fi c. Maximum volumes and security during transportation through increased pallet capacity thanks to variable loading levels, while providing transportation security at the highest level. = High levels of economy

The benefi ts of the Kögel Cool PurFerro quality Stability and durability by means of the anti-rot, liquid-proof, wear-free and low-noise aluminium floor and ageing-resistant, robust and vapour diffusion-proof steel-coated sandwich panels. Low operating costs through more efficient circulation of cooling air thanks to an optimal internal height. In addition, the insulation effect is enhanced by thicker layers of floor and roof insulation. Increased investment protection and ease of repair because of the optional variable impact protection rubber buffers on the rugged short chassis and stainless steel gantry, as well as an easy-to-replace, optimised 4-fold lip door seal and easy-to-replace door hinges. = High levels of economy

Much more than a seal PurFerro, a Kögel quality promise Insulation layer of polyurethane "Pure": pure, clean Pur stands for "polyurethane" "Ferro": Note about covering layer of the panels: steel (lat. ferrum) Panels of steel (both sides) You benefit from the consistently high quality of the components that are conceived, developed and tested in accordance with the designs of our engineers in collaboration with our engineers. On-time delivery and a prudent price-performance ratio are additional benefits that are guaranteed by the in-house production chain. The take-over of the works in Duingen is a consistent course setting for ongoing growth at Kögel, says Thomas Eschey, Managing Director at Kögel. This will allow us to provide consistent high quality for the production of our box bodies with security of supply and at a very attractive price.

Much more than a name PurFerro, the technology The Kögel Cool PurFerro quality is produced, as standard, with a side wall made of sandwich elements with an insulating core (100 % CFC-free). The external cover layer consists of 0.6 mm thick steel sheet and internally of 0.6 mm steel sheet with hard PVC film coating. The smooth and food-compatible surface guarantees easy cleaning. The total wall thickness is approx. 65 mm on type SVT, 45 mm on type SVA and 30 mm on type SIKH. After successfully passing through a comprehensive validation process, which includes, amongst other things, vibration and refrigeration tests, the production of 30 to 125 mm thick PU foam (polyurethane) sandwich panels with steel covering layer was adopted. Level and anchor rails are fully recessed in the side wall. High-quality finishing of the various different materials and the thicker insulation layer on the roof (+10 mm) and floor (+15 mm) produces an elevated insulation level. This means that energy consumption from your trailer can be reduced by 2-4 %.
