2 Facilities Planning & Construction is pleased to present our summer construction report which details capital construction projects that will begin and/or continue throughout the summer. Some projects will be completed by late fall. This summer s construction work should not impact many areas on campus outside of the construction fence line as in years past. Descriptions of our current projects follow in this report. 3 Projects for the Spring/Summer/Fall of 2015 SUCF Projects starting or continuing spring, summer and fall New College Stadium-Phase 2 This is a very exciting and long awaited project for the campus. When finished this project will provide two new synthetic turf fields, a 2,000 seat grandstand, pressbox and V.I.P. suite, support buildings for team rooms, showers, bathroom facilities, storage, and concessions. As part of this project, College Drive was reconstructed into a landscaped boulevard and a concourse was constructed from Merritt Athletic Center and extended through the stadium. The New College Stadium is scheduled for completion for the summer of DASNY Projects starting/continuing spring and summer 2015 D069IT Floor Slab Investigations - Onondaga & Niagara Halls This project involves correcting bedroom flooring that sit on concrete slabon-grade and that are out of level. The project entails correcting nearly all bedrooms and Residential Director apartments on the first floor of Onondaga Hall. The project will also correct approximately 10 bedrooms and the Residential Director apartment in Niagara Hall. This work will begin immediately after Commencement and will be completed by the end of July D069IX Electric & Drainage Replacement Livingston Hall This project involves upgrading Livingston Hall s outdated main electrical switch and transformer in the building and entails rewiring the campus main electrical circuit to bring Livingston Hall on the main electrical loop. Livingston Hall s water main service will also be replaced and upgraded as well as replacing the old asphalt walkways into new concrete walkways. This work will begin immediately after Commencement and will be completed by the end of July. During the duration of this work, the building will not be occupied by students or staff due to the fact that the building will be without power and fire alarm service for a majority of the duration of work. Local Projects starting/continuing spring and summer Rehabilitate Roof College Union This project will consist of shaving down the existing PUF roof system, applying new insulation board and a new rubber membrane roofing system. The contractor s staging for hoisting down old roofing materials and hoisting up new will be strictly limited to the south side of the building. As such, O-Lot will be closed for parking purposes. The loading dock at westerly end of O-Lot will remain open for deliveries to the College Union.

4 This work will begin in early June and is anticipated to take approximately six weeks Lauderdale Health Elevator Replacement The Lauderdale Health Center elevator will be replaced with a new upgraded unit. This work is anticipated to start late summer and continue into early fall. D069ID Replace Roof Nassau Residence Hall Nassau Hall needs to be re-roofed due to deficiencies and damages that occurred by the contractor. The project is currently in the hands of the SUNY legal counsel with the hopes of an agreement to have the reroofing occur prior to student arrival in August. L06106 R-Lot Reconstruction Including Utilities The R-Lot reconstruction project consists of replacing all underground storm sewer systems, a sanitary sewer line, electrical conduits and conductors, parking lot paving, sidewalks, and changing out parking lot lighting to energy efficient LED lighting. Due to the magnitude of work, the project is broken out into two phases. Phase 1 being the northerly half of R-Lot and Phase 2 being the southerly half. Phase 1 will begin immediately after Commencement and will be completed prior to student arrival in August Phase 2 will be similarly scheduled for the summer of L06111 Reconstruct Exterior Basketball Courts This project consists of completely reconstructing the existing basketball courts. The new basketball courts will consist of the same high level finish to that of the neighboring tennis courts. This project is anticipated to start late summer and be completed in the fall.
