2 Quantum Timber Finishes Timeline Quantum Timber Finishes is a division of the Australian owned manufacturing company Mirotone. The Quantum product range has a focus on environmentally responsible bio-based timber finishes. 3 Preparation SAP-STRIP (4915) A non-toxic timber cleaner for removing tannins and extractives from ALL NEW TIMBER. Use on all timbers under 12 months old where full weathering hasn't occurred. n Biodegradable (safe to use around plants) Removes mill glaze Lifts timber grain so coating can penetrate DEX PREP (4930) Timber brightener for cleaning dirty, weathered or old grey timber. Oxalic acid based. Exposed timber over 12 months old. Highly concentrated When used neatly will kill mould spores Q-STRIP (4925) Paint remover. Apply on old and previously coated timber surfaces. 5 AQUASTAIN (4300) A transparent wiping stain for brush or cloth application. Tinted with transparent stain range. Suitable to stain all interior timber. Topcoat with TIMBRE PLUS INTERIOR, MICROCLEAR & MICROFLOOR. Available in a wide range of colours MICROCLEAR Interior (4350) A fast drying, non toxic, clear urethane with added UV protection. Can be tinted for extra life. Can be used on all interior woodwork, exterior protected or semi shaded woodwork, such as eaves, windows and doors. Fast drying - apply multiple coats in a day Low yellowing n toxic, low VOC Low odour Excellent flow and levelling TIMBRE PLUS INTERIOR (4330) A low toxic, low odour, low allergenic clear or tinted finish. 6 Exterior Coatings MICROCLEAR Exterior (4540) A fast drying, non toxic, clear urethane with added UV protection. Can be tinted for extra life. Can be used on all interior woodwork, exterior protected or semi shaded woodwork, such as eaves, windows and doors. Fast drying - apply multiple coats in a day Low yellowing n toxic, low VOC Low odour Excellent flow and levelling TIMBRE PLUS VERTICAL (4520) A premium, semi transparent natural look coating. May be tinted to transform the colour of the timber. Use on doors and windows, weatherboards, handrails and garage doors. Outstanding UV resistance and toughness GOLD (4570) Golden in appearance. Exterior penetrating transparent UV stabilised coating. Ideal for softwood, especially broad surface areas, such as garage doors, cladding and feature walls. Enhances the natural grain and hues of timber without concealing them, colour a reddish gold repellent Fungal resistant Contains UV absorbers QUANTEC (4590) A natural oiled finish. Specifically for Australian hardwoods, decking and vertical timbers to maintain the natural look, re-apply every 6-9 months to prevent greying off. Preserves and protects without colouring the wood Reduces cracking, splitting, warping, checking and cupping. 7 ENVIROLOC (4550) A low sheen, fast drying finish. Comes in white, neutral and accent base. Can be tinted to solid opaque colours. Ideal for use on compressed board, weathered, masonry, timber cladding and cement render. Excellent cover Changes the colour of the surface without concealing the texture AQUAOIL (4500) A coloured stain that penetrates without concealing the wood texture. Available in a wide range of opaque and 1/2 strength (limed wash look) colours. Designed for use on quality exterior timber where a long life coloured finish is required. Binds wood fibres together to prevent peeling, cracking or splintering UV resistant AQUAOIL OMEGA (4510) A solid colour stain that penetrates. Ideal for alpine and coastal areas. Can be used on all timber where a long life opaque colour is required. 9 E.L. DECKCOAT (4790) A non slip, opaque decking finish (Solid colour). Use on older weathered decking, difficult to maintain decking or new decking where solid colour finish is required. Formulated to fill minor surface defects without concealing too much surface texture Available in a wide range of opaque solid stain colours ECO DEX (4710) An economical decking oil, with a natural finish. Can be tinted with transparent stains. Apply on exterior decking and walkways. Recoat every 12 months. Economical decking oil Suitable for most timbers TIMBRE PLUS DECKING (4730) A hard wearing, premium, water repellent natural oil finish. Can be tinted with transparent stains. To be used on exterior decking and walkways. 10 FLOORING QTHANE (4400) A solvent based, single pack, durable, clear polyurethane. Use on interior flooring and joinery. Good resistance to household chemicals and wear and tear MICROFLOOR (4370) A water based, single pack urethane. Suitable for most prepared timber flooring. Tannin blocking, low odour and fast drying MICROFLOOR SLIP RESIST 50 (4380) A waterbased, single pack urethane with added slip resistance additives. Use on timber surfaces such as stair treads, ramps and flooring where slip resistance is required. 11 ADDITIVES WET EDGE EXTENDER (4940) Additive to add into the Quantum products to slow down dry time to minimise lap marks. Use in all Quantum products that clean up in water. SLIP RESIST 50 (4935) Interior slip resistant timber coating. Use in ECO DEX, TIMBRE PLUS DECKING and MICRO FLOOR. 12 About Quantum Quantum Timber Finishes began following requests to develop a timber treatment that would work in extreme weather conditions. All products have been developed by Quantum with the Australian conditions in mind. All products are manufactured in Australia and tested in practical commercial applications prior to release. Exposure testing is carried out in Coastal and Alpine areas. Previous major projects include; Cape Shank Resort, Eureka Centre, Ballarat, Dinner Plain Village, Mt Hotham, The Trail of the Elephants at Melbourne Zoo and Vic Roads sound panels.
