4 Objective of the PUU programme The aim of the PUU programme is to enhance the competitive ability of wood product industries (large and SME s), timber procurement organisations and timber sellers by producing information on quality potentials of the current and future growing stock, wood materials and new wood products and end uses, as well as their competitiveness, technical and environmental performance, technical, service and business solutions that increase the customer value and cost competitiveness of timber procurement and timber sales, novel customer, service, product and network solutions based on value added wood products and by participating the development and implementation of the products, services, processes and business concepts
