2 FOREWORD Josef Kerner was a practician and engineer with endless life blood and an unbroken passion. And if you would have asked him today, how dense fog along with fatty and sticky soil of the Danube Plain in Swabian Aislingen is related with powerful soil cultivation worldwide, maybe he would have answered: Quite a lot! Because this inspired Josef Kerner to an unconventional plough accessory unit two decades ago: the Schollencracker. It even crashes fatty soil with its spring steel cutters according to the principle of pulled cutting. The farmers around Aislingen were completely amazed when he started his new invention on his difficult soils next to their fields, as there has never been anything like this before. Therefore it was not surprising, that this revolutionary idea spread like wildfire in those days. Today Kerner is one of the leading companies for machines for soil cultivation and sowing. A lot of patented inventions have been developed over the years. Our permanent desire to innovate and the adherence to values of carefully considered developments are also responsible for our reputation, that we integrate our customers on the way to new developments and products. The extremely robust and durable cutters on the height adjustable levelling bar are made of tempered special steel. Among its special features are the centrally adjustable cutter adjustments on the levelling. Thereby the passage between the cutting tools can be centrally adjusted and adapted to every soil e. Because of the low self weight of the machine, the tractor can lift the plough and clod cracker easily. 5 GALAXIS ROTARY CULTIVATOR Innovative to the smallest detail All points to the Galaxis. For example its forerunning coulter tips: They are designed to move in even in hard soil. The big overlapping of the wing share also allows an all-over cultivation with only few centimetres of cultivation depth. The twin-row Galaxis with its patented quick exchange share system is available on request. 6 KOMET K ROTARY CULTIVATOR Totally Flexible With the Komet K an extremely flat all-over soil loosening with only 5 cm depth is practicable as well as a 30 cm depth loosening. Here the compactor ensures a high load capacity and enables an evenly grading, a high reconsolidation with perfect crumbling and a high operational safety. Another advantage is the star shaped distributer, which allows working without blockage through the special developed angles of attack. The special developed system structure of the cultivator ensures an equal horizontal and vertical distribution of harvest residues and therefore a faster rolling straw. The Komet KAL is well prepared for sandy, stony, loamy and marshy soil, because of the original Kerner-compactor. According to the soil conditions, it can work in different working depths with or without compactor, because of the multi functional chassis. 9 FP 65 Always in the forefront The front packer is the perfect choice for best soil-conditions. There is relying on the high-dimensioned profile steel rings in any weather and season, because they ensure an optimal reconsolidation on different soil types. The rings have a diameter of 650 mm, in the track range 550 mm. Between the compactor rings there are additional centrally adjustable cutters and clearing tools integrated, which allow working without blockage in humid soil-conditions. 10 FPcw 55 For perfect structures With a relatively high own weight and a stable frame construction, the front packer from Kerner with the Cracker Compactor FPcw 55 can convince in every respect. It is an absolute specialist for intensive seedbed preparation in sandy and medium-heavy soil. The less sinking of the tractor wheels enables flat soil cultivation with the follow up machines. 11 FPcw 65 The Power Package The Frontpacker FPcw 65 from Kerner is best prepared for pure sand soils to heavy clay and loamy soil. The star profile on the compactor rings causes a considerable more intensive crumbling of the subsoil; it achieves a higher share of fine soil and enables a better load capacity in changing soil types. As for all front packers from Kerner a lot of equipment and matching variants for the individual cultivation are available on request. 12 CRACKERWALZE HARROW TRAILER Well-Rounded With the Crackerwalze from Kerner everything goes well even under difficult conditions, as it is equipped with big steel-packer rings with a diameter of 50 mm and clearing and cutting tools. Especially in extreme soil-conditions it makes a good job. Because of the corrugated profile on the compactor rings, the soil structure will improve and a higher share of fine soil for seed supply will be developed. The additional integrated cross-bar ensures a higher driving force. 13 MULTICRACKER SEEDBED COMBINATION The Allrounder The multicracker is a highly modern machine for soil-cultivation for seedbed preparation. A spring borne levelling bar with tilted leaf spring furrows ensures an exemplary levelling of the tractor track. Because of tilted angulations, the leaf springs can push the soil from left and right into the lane. Thereby the soil can drain off easily between the furrow closers. Because of the perfect interaction between levelling bar and running after cracker compactor, the Multicracker makes as much soil as possible during one crossing, where other machines need two. 14 EROS UNIVERSAL SEED DRILL MACHINE Universal Funktional The Eros from Kerner has several specialities and therefore covers a wide range of applications. It causes an optimal mixing and crushing effect, because of its easy to pull two-row short disc harrows. The soil will also be levelled exactly after the ploughing. The maintenance free disc with a diameter of 500 mm adapts ideal to the soil and pits itself against stony soil. In spite of its particularly stable torsion-free main frame, the Eros is extremely agile due to its short construction type.
